After taking a hiatus out of the limelight to concentrate on her family, the former first lady of Bad Boy is stepping back onto the scene.

Faith Evans is gearing up to share her life with fans nationwide through a new reality show via E1 Television and Ten2OneEntertainment.

The mother of four will star in her “It’s All About Faith” show chronicling her return to music and home life with husband Todd Russaw.

In between shooting for her show, Faith has been in the studio recording new material for her 6th studio album on her Prolific Music Group imprint which distributes through E1 Music.

Obviously excited about returning to music, Faith released a statement in a press release saying,

“2010 is shaping up to be an amazing year for me! To be in a place where I have grown from an entertainer to an entrepreneur is truly a blessing. I am excited to share this incredible experience with my fans and the world.”

Her reality TV show is set to premiere later this year.

No word on what network will pick it up.

While watching the “Notorious” film on HBO, I was intrigued by not only the story which, I thought that I knew already like so many others of my generation, but also by how clear his relationships were with the women in his life. The Faith Evans and Lil Kim storyline was extremely telling. Kim and B.I.G seemed to have had a connection, she knew him before he was famous yet he choose to marry Faith Evans after only knowing her for a short time. When Kim said “Why her and not me?” I felt her pain.

Faith Wants Kim To Quit Whining

There are many theories on why men commit to marriage, but the way that these differences were illustrated made it crystal clear. Paying attention to how they both solidified the terms of their relationship early, will show the lessons for all single women. Here are top 5 relationship don’ts that I noticed:

1) Make him work for it: When you meet a man on a Tuesday afternoon then have sex with him by Tuesday evening; you should really check yourself.  Again, if you make it too easy he will never respect, cherish and adore you. Ex: When they met and he was standing on the corner; they have sex that day and then she asked him after, “Are you seeing anyone?” That’s just clearly, being too easy 101!

2) Have your own: There has to be something said for having your own career. Ex: Faith did not need B.I.G to put her on, she had a record deal before him. 

3) Curb your mouth: You can not say whatever you want in the heat of an argument and think it’s okay. Yeah, Kim was sassy and that’s cute to a certain point. Ladies we have to stop taking pride in being able to bring a man to his knees with our words. Ex: When she was in the recording booth and announced that they had oral sex, in front of all of his friends and colleagues– not a good look. Respect him and yourself.

4) Never let a man keep you in limbo: They decide nothing; if he has not committed to you the way that you need him to be then walk away, dignity in tack. Ex: Faith stopped while saying their wedding vows and said “don’t say it if you don’t mean it,” when the preacher got to part about being faithful. She let him know that monogamy was important to her.

5) Be Consistent: Faith made him commit but then she was not consistent, as evident in her book. Ex: she describes how he cheated and they went back and forth in their marriage.

Boy oh boy am I glad that whole Lil Kim/Naturi Naughton/Faith Evans/Notorious fiasco has been nipped in the bud (or at least quieted), because now Faith can go back to doing what she does best – making music. And when’s the last time you heard anything by Teena Marie?

The two songstresses teamed up for “Can’t Last A Day,” Teena’s first single off her new album Congo Square, celebrating her 30-year anniversary in the music industry. Her 13th album, Congo Square is an ode to singing sensations like Sarah Vaughan and Marvin Gaye, who set the platform upon which she launched her musical career. Lil Kim is not feeling her portrayal in the upcoming Notorious, and has no intentions of seeing it. She told Hip-Hop Weekly that she blames Faith Evans and Voletta Wallace for what she deems to be a crappy movie, but at the end of the day, Faith just wants her to shut the heck up.

NEW YORK – On Wednesday night in Manhattan, almost all the music-industry insiders associated with the Notorious B.I.G. came out to see the premiere of his biopic, “Notorious.” Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes, Lil’ Cease, even Nas. But no Lil’ Kim.

The Queen recently came out publicly and stated she is not in support of the film and blames Big’s mother, Voletta Wallace, and his widow, singer Faith Evans, for what she calls a negative portrayal.

“I’ve had enough and I’m about to expose them both. … I’ve been quiet for a long time,” Kim was quoted as saying by Hip-Hop Weekly. “I’m very disappointed in Faith. There’s nothing Faith or Ms. Wallace could do to stop me from reppin’ B.I.G. all day. I’m gonna always do that. … It’s time for Ms. Wallace to be exposed.

“I was not involved in the movie,” she continued. “[The filmmakers] never came and asked me anything about Biggie, but again, this was Faith and Ms. Wallace’s movie,” Kim told the tabloid about her thoughts on the biopic. “I couldn’t believe it. I was outraged,” adding that she thought Naturi Naughton was a bad choice to play her and that Jamal Woolard was a poor choice to portray Big.

“I try my best not to think about it,” Evans told MTV News on Thursday afternoon (January 8) about Kim’s recent quotes. “It’s kinda sad.”

Evans said the magazine informed her of the quotes. “I got four kids, and I definitely don’t have time for this type of sh–,” she noted. “It’s just sad. I don’t know Kim’s story like that. The part of my life that she was a part of, that what was in my book. This movie is not relative to my book other than that there are certain things in there. This is not my movie. I didn’t write the script. Any characters in the film had to agree for their life rights to be in the movie. I don’t think I would have signed anything had I felt I was not portrayed properly. I think she had the opportunity to do that. I could be mistaken. I wasn’t there.

“It’s not like [the film's producers] are calling Faith to write something about somebody,” Evans added. “It’s based on a book that I think she participated in as well [Editor's note: 'Notorious' is based on the biography 'Unbelievable: The Life, Death and Afterlife of the Notorious B.I.G.,' by Cheo Hedari Coker.] I don’t know what to say. I think that beyond myself, Ms. Wallace or whoever else she wants to blame, everyone who was around Big at that time has had some things to say about [her relationship with Biggie] in order for Cheo to even write the book. He interviewed pretty much all of us. She’s sadly mistaken. I’m aware of what she has to say, and that’s fine. I don’t know what to say. God bless her.”
