After years of not speaking and throwing subliminaljabs at each other in their lyrics, female rappers Eve and Lil Kim have squashed their beef and you will never guess what their common bond is.

When asked about the tension amongst female rappers in the game, Eve admitted than when she started out she did not get along with Lil Kim and Foxy Brown, they would see each other and not speak. But at a recent MAC Cosmetics dinner, Eve came face to face with Lil Kim and got a chance to talk to her. With a conversation that began about their dogs, the two ladies realized they had a lot in common and their beef was squashed.

Eve says she would love to work with Lil Kim in the future, and we would all love to hear a collabo!!

In mid-January, Eve posted a message on her Twitter page, confirming her departure from her long-time label Interscope. The 31-year-old female rapper has never spoken about the split, well, until now. Eve talked VIBE about her ordeal.

ON THEIR SPLIT: [Interscope was] stupid because they didn’t drop me at first, they [just shelved me] and dropped the ball. After ‘Tambourine’, they straight up were like, ‘Umm, yeah, nah, we’re not putting out the record.’ After that I was like ‘Yall gotta let me go. I’ve been here 11 years and you’re frontin’ on me?’ It got to that point,” she reveals.

ON LABEL’S CHAIRMAN JIMMY IOVINE: Eve says she loves Jimmy, but admits that he’s motivated by trends, no matter how much faith he’s already invested in a senior artist – “I’m not going to talk shit about him, but I don’t appreciate the fact that he didn’t go the extra mile for me.”

ON HER SHELVED 2007 ALBUM, “FLIRT”: “They promised me the machine. The machine is basically the roll out. It’s ‘Yo, when [Flirt] comes out, we’ll give you this, we’ll give you that. And that’s what made me mad. It’d be different if we didn’t have a mtg where people promised me shit. If they were just like ‘Oh we’re going to put the album out and see what happens,’ that would be one thing. But they were like ‘No, we’re making sure this happens, it’s coming out on this date.’ It was concrete. But it’s all good, everything happens how it’s supposed to, when it’s supposed to.”

To me, if her music was dope and she would’ve been an asshole than I wouldn’t have been a fan. I’m more a fan of hers as a person.”

Eve has reappeared, and as it turns out, she was actually doing something productive during her short absence. She popped up in Toronto this past weekend to promote her role in the new film “Whip It.” The movie is about a Texas teen, Bliss Cavendar, who is pressured by her family to follow in her mother’s beauty queen footsteps, but rejects that in favor of a more aggressive pursuit. Bliss opts to join a roller derby team where her teammates, including Eve, encourage her to live her own life.

The rapper turned actress looked calm and refreshed at the Toronto press conference where she spoke on a panel about the movie which is set to hit theaters on October 2.

She also attended a screening of the film in a chic black jumpsuit.
