Ciara visited the “Sway in the Morning” show live on Radio Row during Super Bowl Week to hang with Sway Calloway and Devi Dev and talk about her recording career and forthcoming movie “That’s My Boy,” and revealed she wants to build an empire.

CiCi said:

“I really want to build my empire. I want a strong empire. I want it to be really solid and it’s about building a brand, so I look at things completely different than I would have on my first album.”

She went on to reveal her increased involvement in the recording process.

“As a business woman I’ve grown, musically I’ve grown, I don’t want to say too much but I co-produced so far on one of my records and it’s fun cos I’m literally a part of making the music.”

Chelsea Handler was a guest on Howard Stern’s radio show recently, and threw shots at her former boo, 50 Cent while talking about their breakup. Chelsea said she dumped 50 Cent after he confessed to her that Ciara still called him on occasion to tell him she “loved him.”

Chelsea told Howard that 50 wanted to go on vacation with her and her family. She said that he was coming to a lot of her shows and stuff. She said that Ciara was coming on her show and he called her to tell her some stuff about her. Chelsea told him that this was like 8th grade shit that he was talking to her about when he told her about what had gone on. She said that she didn’t want to hear it so she told him to knock it off. She said that she said something to him about being a street person or a gangster and she hasn’t spoken to him since.

She said that he was so insulted that they never spoke again. She said that it was the worst thing she could have said to a black man next to the N-word. Chelsea said he was supposed to go on vacation with her but he didn’t even show up. She said that he didn’t come to Anguilla and that’s probably good because he couldn’t swim. She said that it was never going to be a long term relationship anyway.

3 Careers Ciara May Want To Consider

Ciara may have never had the Midas Touch with her flailing career, but that doesn’t mean that the “Ride” songstress isn’t talented. Seeing as how music’s not really her strong point and her movies never really fare well (even though CiCi’s got another upcoming role), it may be time for some career counseling.

Let me, help you Ciara. Here’s a few career choices you may want to think about.

Dance Instructor

It’s no secret that Ciara’s got more moves than Jagger. She’d be the perfect positive dance mentor for aspiring professional dancers a la Laurie Ann Gibson.

Model

Ciara’s got looks that should solidify her place at the top of the charts (you know, because the industry is shallow). If the average music consumer isn’t loving her music, we could at least appreciate the way she looks.

Entrepreneur

Everyone’s doing it! Brandy, Vivica A. Fox and Beverly Johnson–to name drop a little bit. Now, it’s Ciara’s turn. She’s got an amazing niche–great quality wigs that will not budge no matter how far back in the matrix dance move one goes.

Ciara’s acting career hasn’t been very fulfilling. After starring in two failed flicks – the cheerleader romp “All You’ve Got,” as well as “Mama, I Want To Sing” which never saw theaters – Ciara may finally be getting her big break.

She will be starring alongside veteran comedy actor Adam Sandler in “Donny’s Boy” which follows a father who moves in with his son right before his wedding and soon begins sparring with his daughter-in-law.

The movie is set for a June 15 release.

It was the “n***ab***h” heard ’round the world. The Dutch magazine Jackie decided to run a story on Rihanna’s sassy style and thought that humorous eye-catching title was the way to go. The editor-in-chief (now former), Eva Hoeke, was going for laughs, and more than likely higher readership, when she decided to publish the seriously rude title to her style guide to dressing your daughter like Rihanna. Well, the joke’s on her because shortly after Rihanna caught wind of the insult, Hoeke stepped down as editor. Embarrassing.

Seeing as how “n***ab***h” is not in the Webster dictionary, nor is it a frequently-used insult, we’ll just have to verify whether or not our favorite good girl gone bad is actually a “n***ab***h” with the good old Urban Dictionary.

Niggabitch: a black person that is a b***h or a person who is acting gay or stuck-up. Used as a gerneral insult.

1. F**k You!

Uhm, Rih, we know you’re a rebel (read: bitch) and all and you can’t control when you’ll run into a group of kid fans, but clearly this necklace is a bit more TV-MA than PG-13. You’ve got to think twice before posing with the kiddies!

2. Girl-On-Girl-On-Girl Action

“Acting gay?” I’d say so. Rihanna’s been known for her girl-on-girl moments and they always seem to be caught on camera. If we’re defining “n***ab***h” by the Urban Dictionary’s standards, Rihanna’s is Queen – because you know, she acts gay.

3. To Mock a Songbird

Rihanna always seems to involve herself in a heavy dose of Twitter beef. Her argument with Ciara stemmed from Ciara’s comments about Rihanna not being the “nicest” person anymore and Rihanna took to Twitter to respond in the stuck-up and rude way that only a true “n***ab***h” can master. Since the tweet beef, the two songbirds have made up, but according to TMZ, it was forced by Rihanna’s people.

Rihanna tweeted, “ My bad ci, did I 4get to tip u? #howrudeofme.”

“Trust me Rihanna u don’t want to see me on or off the stage” Ciara tweeted.

Rihanna responded, “Good luck with booking that stage u speak of.”

I know you all love Rihanna, but I couldn’t help myself with this one. All jokes aside, the obscure marriage of the word “n***a” and “b***h” make for the ultimate insult to one of the music industry’s biggest pop icons. Sure, Rihanna may dress a little risque, be a bit loose with her tongue via her lyrics and her Twitter account, and yes, she loves flirting with women, but we also know that throwing out racial slurs – that aren’t really relevant or sensible – will lead you straight to an unemployment line. Lesson learned. So, who ended up getting the last laugh, Eva Hoeke?

For some more laughs, here are a few definitions (courtesy or Urban dictionary) of “n***ab***h” that don’t quite define Rihanna.
A big black sassy woman usually works at a dmv or at dollar general.
A n***a that act like a b***h.. as in it’s his time of the month.
A fool, someone you don’t particualarly like and can’t tolerate for more than a few minutes at a time.
A Transsexual, Shemale, etc. Someone who is a man but wants to be or acts/pretends to be like a female.
A big black girl that tries to act tough, usually fat and has a forehead the size of a Hummer windshield.

The-Dream has always been a producer in high demand, but after creating hits for both Beyonce (“Single Ladies”) and Ciara (“Ride”), he’ll only be working with one woman again on her next album.

After writing and producing 7 (out of 11) songs on Ciara’s flop “Basic Instinct,” her fans attacked him on Twitter, believing him to be the reason for its failure. It seems he’s learned his lesson because when a follower recently asked if they’d be working together again, The-Dream replied:

“Sorry but no I won’t be on this album because my contract doesn’t allow me to. I’m sure her fans are happy about that.”

However, when it comes to Beyonce, he’s more than able and willing. He told Boombox:

“”She’s ready to work. She’s crazy! She never stops doing anything. I don’t know if [pregnancy] is going to slow her down. She’s just incredible with doing things, I don’t know how she’s going to do it, she’s just a maniac… in a good way.”

Has Ciara been signed to L.A. Reid’s Epic Records label? Following her split from Jive Records and the failure that was her “Basic Instinct” album, we’ve been waiting for her to announce what her next move was.

But L.A. Reid may have made it for her. Over the weekend, he tweeted the subliminal message:

“@Ciara will be officially #EPIC very soon! Thats my girl!”

Hopefully this means he’ll be working with the struggling singer soon. After all, he is responsible for the signing Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, and Usher.

She was joined by Kanye, who wore all black, and the designer of his “Watch The Throne” album cover, Riccardo Tisci, who went all the way with a gruesome, “bloodied” mouth.

Monica & Shannon Brown’s wedding ceremony went down on Saturday, July 9. And though we have yet to see the wedding album (we weren’t invited!), Monica did post a picture on Twitter of herself with her bridesmaids.

The picture showed the bride standing in her beautiful wedding gown (complete with a 50lb. train!) with her 10 bridesmaids, including Ciara, Tiny, Trina, her cousin Ludacris’ girlfriend Eudoxie, and Kobe Bryant’s wife Vanessa. She wrote: “True Friends, are uplifting, understanding, supportive & caring. God Blessed me with some amazing friends.”

Perhaps Ciara’s best accessory with this outfit was her Louis Vuitton doggy bag with her two pooches, Georgia and Tyson, hanging out.

Why Is It So Hard For Black Artists To Stay Relevant?

In the music industry, entertainers come and go like revolving doors. One minute they have a hit and the next, eh, not so much. And it seems that once they have one flop the struggle to get back on top and remain relevant in the industry is insurmountable.

Nine times out of ten, unless you have a juicy scandal swirling around or nude pics leak in the midst of your struggling music career, society eventually forgets about your talents and the hits you’ve created before. This forces these artists to silently bow out and delve into even less relevant ventures.

So, why is it so hard for black artists to remain relevant? Granted, maybe, just maybe they actually don’t want to be relevant. Maybe they just want bits and pieces of the fame-pie, but don’t care to over-indulge. While that may be the case for some celebs, the fact still remains that once they fall off it’s a greater struggle to get back on top for black artists as opposed to celebs of different races. Does the blame fall on these celebs’ fanbase? I wouldn’t say so. Personally, I’d blame the artist. It’s up to them to hire the best people; if they don’t have the funds to hire the best, it’s up to them to step their game up and try to create these opportunities for themselves.

I watched a video where regular everyday people were questioned on their thoughts about Ciara and her stance in the music industry. Needless to say a lot of the comments interested me. Some people stated they were bored with her, others noted the differences between her and showier singers like Rihanna. (I found it odd that one girl said she was bored with Ciara but if she had to choose whether to see her or Rihanna in concert, she’d choose Ciara anyway because Rihanna is even more boring.) I have to agree on that, as well. I mean hey, at least Ciara has some high-energy dances to get the crowd into it. Rihanna can do a mean whine and sing a couple songs with to a hot beat with her monotone voice but, sadly, that is pretty much it for her.

The truth is, there’s not much to Rihanna aside from her beauty and dope beats, but that fact of the matter is that she has a team dedicated to banking off of her so her beauty and her brand is pushed down our throats while our ears are forced to hemorrhage from the sound of that Billy Goats gargle she calls a singing voice. But hey, no shade here, that’s just the truth.

In so many words another person pointed out that it basically all depends on what kind of team you have behind you and I strongly agree. To remain relevant in the music industry you not only have to have show-stopping good looks, but a DAMN good team behind you, a music label that actually sees potential in you to invest the time and money it takes to take you to star status, the best PR money can buy. And, most importantly, you have to be able to reinvent your style and cross over in your music. If you don’t possess the ability to cross over you will not be able to evolve and survive in such an ever-changing business that is the music industry.

For instance, right now true R&B music is becoming a rarity in the music industry. Now, you have stars like Usher, Beyonce and Chris Brown doing more and more pop records because that is what is in demand right now and they possess the ability to do more things with their voices. Singers with a mediocre vocal range find it harder to do this because it’s harder for their voice to change up.

Another thing someone from the video pointed out was that Ciara should focus more on reinvented her music career opposed to being a socialite. That is somewhat true; Ciara would earn big bucks maybe focusing so much on music center her attention on doing work out videos or dance videos, focus on modeling or being a radio or TV personality or something. There’s an obvious difference: Britney Spears made her career a huge disaster and did not miss out on a dime in the midst of all of her crazy mental break-downs; yet black celebs make a couple of flops and it’s an automatic wrap for their career. Word to the wise, one thing these celebs can do to remain relevant is hire a top notch PR team and continue to try and do things to connect with their fan base. Whatever people pride them for or associate them with, bank off of that.

Ciara recently held a press conference during her trip to South Africa and was asked about Beyonce. Ciara spoke very highly of Bey, stating that she loves and has a lot of respect for Beyonce. “I just really, really support her for just whatever she does”, Ci Ci stated.

Ciara loves being naked. And we can’t blame her! If we had her abs and legs, we wouldn’t mind looking at ourselves in the mirror either. She recently revealed to Hollywood Gossip:

“I feel the sexiest when I’m by myself, walking around nude,” the 25-year-old says. “I have this new obsession with nudity, it’s really weird. It may sound weird, but I just really love embracing the body.”

And how does she keep that body?

She works out 5 days a week and tries to “eat clean,” however, she says, “I would never advise somebody to be so strict to where you don’t enjoy yourself.”

Have Ciara & Amar’e Stoudemire already broken up? The couple was scheduled to attend Tuesday night’s Whitney Art Party in New York this week, but Amar’e arrived solo, according to the NY Daily News.

When asked where she was, he replied curtly: “She’s not here, buddy.”

And he didn’t waste time getting to know the other female attendees. After making a couple of rounds through the crowd, Stoudemire, who served as an honorary co-chair of the event, headed to a makeshift VIP where he became engrossed in conversation with the daughter of an art collector.

Who didn’t see this coming?
