TheUrbanDaily spoke to the “King Of Hearts” singer, recently, where she commented on the rumors surrounding her relationship with Diddy.

What was the first thing Diddy taught you and told you when you signed with him?

He always gives great advice. In the beginning with the first album, everything was moving so quickly and I was moving around so quickly and bouncing from country to country, I never had the opportunity to really talk to him. We just signed and got on the road. Up to now, when we have conversations about the past three-four  years and how I automatically changed and everything, he would say patience is what helps you. If you really take your time and wait and work hard and observe and learn, just take your time at the end of the day it will all work out, cause your time will come.

Do you care to dispel the rumors that you and Diddy are messing around?

I don’t talk about my personal life. Whatever people want to choose to believe or not believe is really up to them.

Baby mommas have become and epidemic. Women seem to be settling for bearing a man’s children rather than bearing a ring on their finger.

Ne-Yo’s latest strip club stunt with his baby momma in tow lead me to question the level of respect men have for the mothers of their children and why they never seem to commit. Here’s three signs you may always be a baby’s momma and never a wife.

1. Stripped

Many men love the allure of naked women booty clapping for dollar bills with no strings attached. Strip clubs are an escape for most men–a fantasy if you will. Strip clubs should not be date night options. If your baby’s father respects you as the mother of his children, he’d never bring you to as strip club to watch him waste his hard-earned money, which could be going to towards the kids.

2. In Your Face

If the father of your children gallivants around town with his so called protege that he has no qualms with expressing his affections towards her, then chances are you’re pretty much set in baby momma concrete.

3. (More Than) One Woman Man

Lil’ Wayne’s redefined the term “baby momma.” He seems to be collecting them like baseball cards. When you look around and you’re among a group of women who share one baby’s father, you just might find yourself living out a stereotype.

There are a lot of songs about sex. It’s the kind of record you put on when your man is coming over, when you’re with your girls. There are songs that make you wanna dance because we were kind of partying our way through the record, but it’s very chill. My references for the record were all Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, not just their typical Janet and Prince stuff, but SOS Band and their b-sides with Chaka Khan. At first the songs were really dark because I had a premonition before the record that I was going to die. I was having panic attacks and wiling out. [But] I don’t need anyone telling me ‘this isn’t cool enough’ or anyone from the opposite end saying ‘this seems kind of weird.’ I’m lucky enough to have been in this business for so long that I know how it works. It’s not that hard. It’s not rocket science.

On her new domestic role:
Now being in a stable situation, sometimes that feels f**ked up within itself. I’ve been on the road my entire life since I was 13, even when I had my son he came on the road with me. Now that he’s in school where there is a real structure, we have to be home during those times. Being that grounded feels really foreign to me.

I have hundreds of songs recorded for this album. I’ve been working on it for a long time. Finally, I had to decide my direction. I felt kind of exposed when I stopped working in the studio. My friends would call me to hang out and I would say, ‘nope, going in the studio,’ and they’d say, ‘you’ve been in the studio for four years!’ At the time I made the record I went out to Ibiza and I really started to feel these jungle beats. But at the same time I wanted to keep the ‘Me and U’ tone, really simple and clean. I have a lot of friends who are DJs and they like to mix, so I like to leave a really clean skeleton with the vocal. In my video we called it ‘giving ’90s supermodel.’ It’s the perfect definition of who I am right now and what I’m going through. People aren’t going to expect me to come out with what I have.”

My second album has a message: it’s about my generation and things going on in the world, but I didn’t want it to come across preachy. I love writing upbeat songs with darker undertones. Sometimes you want to shy away from political things because people will tell you to leave that to the politicians, but I want my fans to hear a message that is about questioning the world and getting them to question what fame is. I find it difficult to even say the word ‘fan.’ We’re all the same. As a generation, let’s evolve and shift away from celebrity culture, I think it’s really unhealthy.

According to the NY Post, the blond actress, who split with Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez in September, started the night off with dinner at Marble Lane in the lobby with friends. Afterward, the group migrated upstairs to PH-D, where Diddy came to meet Diaz at her table at about 1:15 a.m. After the music mogul ordered multiple bottles of Ciroc, Grey Goose and Patrón, onlookers said Diaz and Diddy were attached to each other all night.

“They were kissing and making out,” and continued being “very affectionate” while they danced, our sources said.

Diaz and Diddy left the club together with the group just after 3 a.m. This isn’t the first time Diaz has been seen fiddling with Diddy. A Page Six spy saw the pair canoodling over lunch at Scarpetta in Beverly Hills last month following an earlier dinner at Meatpacking District hot spot Catch. But Diaz’s rep insisted at the time they were discussing a movie project. Her rep still maintains, “They are friends and are not dating.” Diddy’s rep echoed that the two are “just friends.”

Who are your biggest musical influences?
I have so many influences musically. My parents always played music in the house when I was growing up in CT. The music they played ranged from Parliament Funkadelic to Carol King to Stevie Wonder. As an artist I think that the music you’re exposed to when your young influences the music you choose to create. I also went through a Jimi Hendrix phase, it was interesting. I used to listen to him on my dads old 8-track player. I was in love with Janet Jackson and of course Aaliyah.

Who would you like to work with someday?
Prince would be amazing. Isn’t that everyone’s answer to that?

We heard you’re working on a new album. Can you give us a sneak peak?
Its top secret! (smiles) I’m going to let the music speak for itself. The one thing I will say is I love it.

Would you ever consider acting or being on TV?
I’ve done a few things. I would love to act more; film is ideal for me. Its something I want to devote more time to – for sure. I would love to work with David Fincher or Oliver Stone.

What would you be doing today if you hadn’t become a performer?
I’d be a chef or a museum owner I’m into modern art.

Tell us about your new album.
It’s a cool blend of pop, hip-hop and ska. It’s urban Gwen Stefani meets Aaliyah. I hate referencing people but if you had to compare, that’s it.

Who do you want to collaborate with?
It’s pretty unattainable but I would love to work with Prince.

Do you consider yourself a model or musician?
Musician because I love being creative and letting myself be emotional in that moment.

Describe your personal style.
Right now I’m in my tomboy phase. I wear my Jordans and flannel shirts.

Do you have an item of clothing that you can’t live without?
My black leather Balmain pants. They have a rip at the knee that I have never fixed and I will never throw them out.

What’s currently on your iPod?
I’m playing my new stuff and the new Britney Spears album. I have phases when I listen to an album over and over again. Three months ago, it was The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

What do you listen to on a lazy Sunday?
I just downloaded 21 by Adele, which is a good vibe for those days. Pandora is amazing if you put it on the right channel – like the Maxwell channel.

Do you come from a musical family?
My dad plays the trumpet, my brother the drums, and my mom the piano. I played the piano, too. I’m not as good as I used to be, but I can still read music.

On growing her hair back out:
“Everyone wants to know! I will at some point, I was actually thinking about it recently. I’m not ready, because I just shaved the other side. And I want to live a little bit, I feel like you’re only young once and you can’t wear this everyday.”

On her natural curls:
“[I don't] let everybody see my curls,” but she’ll rock them when she’s just “chillin’.”

On make-up and keeping her skin flawless:
“I think the thing for me is that I feel undone when my nails aren’t done. My hands, my feet, and I also need something on my lips. Some gloss or something. … ALWAYS wash your face at night! I know a lot of people say they do, but they don’t. It’s important to drink water, drink A LOT of water.”

Cassie also revealed to Allure during the event…

“Curling my lashes and pinching my cheeks.”

Selita Ebanks began: “My family is very cultural. The women in my family go from the brightest vanilla to the chocolately chocolate and all of our hair textures vary. Growing up, I had some sort of identity crisis because I’m so light skinned so I used to envy the girls that would be able to be in the bathroom in high school and just wrap their hair up without no pins, so I thought it was something wrong with my hair.”

Cassie continued: “From the time I was born until I was 12 years old my hair was pin straight and I prayed every night that I could have [curly] hair like my mom. She’d press it out, she’d have her beautiful curls when we’d go to the beach. As soon as I hit puberty, my hair started to curl and I finally got that curl and now it’s going back the other way. I always wanted that and I had it for one moment of my life.”

Solange finished: “Cutting my hair, it doesn’t even feel brave but it was funny to see the social response and their interpretation with what a hair cut or hair change means. A hair cut, color, all of those things to me are just another outlet of expression.”

The 3 ladies represent multiple ethnicities—Cassie as African-American and Filipina, Selita as Jamaican, Irish, Indian and African and Solange as African-American and French Creole. Also, their hair textures range from sleek tresses to waves to natural curls; their skin tones from olive to brown.

Rumors about Sean “Diddy” Combs being romantically linked to singer Cassie Ventura circulated for years.
