“Cosby Show” Actress Clarice Taylor Dies

Clarice Taylor, most famous for playing Anna Huxtable on “The Cosby Show” and Harriet on “Sesame Street,” has died at the age of 93, reports People. Clarice played Harriet on the popular children’s show for 14 years, while also spending some time as the Huxtable matriarch.

Taylor succumbed to heart failure and was surrounded by family when she passed.

The cast of “The Cosby Show” reunited last night at the TV Land Awards where they received the Impact Award from presenter Stevie Wonder. Bill Cosby, Phylicia Rashad, Tempestt Bledsoe, Sabrina LeBeauf, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Raven Symone and Malcolm-Jamal Warner all showed.

“It means that not only are we still relevant today, we made some sort of a difference, and some sort of an impact 25 years ago,” Sabrina LeBeauf said of the award.

Her on-screen husband Geoffrey Owens (who played Elvin) said, “I don’t see any show on now that impacts people in that way [that] family show [did]. I think it’s fair to say that, unfortunately, that’s a little bit of the past right now.”

We are not at all surprised Lisa Bonet didn’t come, but it still would have been nice to see her.

Will Smith And Denzel To Remake “Uptown Saturday Night”

Denzel Washington and Will Smith, arguably the two biggest stars on the planet, are having discussions about bringing a remake to the big screen- and get this- the film is Sidney Poitier and Bill Cosby’s 1974 comedy hit film Uptown Saturday Night.

Clark Kent says: ‘Uptown Saturday Night’ and ‘Let’s Do It Again’ are two of my most cherished and favorite films. Hell, even Christopher Wallace was influenced by it.

The cast of the Cosby Show appeared on the Today Show this morning to mark the show’s 25th anniversary. The cast members relived their favorite moments with host Matt Lauer.

“Our stuff is funny. There’s love there. It’s all genuine,” Bill Cosby explains of the endurance of the show, which premiered Sept. 20, 1984.
