5 Notable Moments From Beyonce’s Revel Concert

Queen Bey has done it again…working feverishly at her craft has earned her the title of the best performer since Michael Jackson (The Dream)! Beyonce owned Ovation Hall stage in Atlantic City this Memorial weekend!

In case you missed it, here are seven notable (two honorable mentions) moments from Bey’s comeback concert from HB attendee Candace Amos:

5. From the moment the show started, none of the concert goers sat down. She thanked Kelly for babysitting Blue Ivy while she was performing. She thanked Jay for flying out to catch her the last show. She also thanked Michelle for coming.

4. When she sang “Flaws & All,” she had the camera zoom in on her face the whole time, showing the crowd her own “flaws,” allowing the crowd to connect to her.

3. Newcomer Luke James opened the show. He was on for about hour. The crowd loved him. He gave out roses to fans in the pit at the end of his performance. He said it was an honor to share the stage with Beyonce and she could have picked anyone, but picked him.

2. When Bey sang “Resentment,” she was very emotional. She even cursed a bit in the song.

1. Beyonce opened with “Love On Top” and the crowd went crazy. She was a total diva the entire time. She strutted every chance she had. It was the best! Overall, her show was very Vegas-styled. From the costumes to the lighting to the video production – she actually did “Countdown” with a remix video of cute little cube boxes that she danced on – everything was super interactive.

Honorable Mentions:

- The two-hour set time! Beyonce didn’t bring anyone out on stage, she actually performed the whole time solo. After the first hour, you felt fulfilled, but when you realized there was more, everyone was like, “Yay!”

- Her 6-8 costume changes! During one of them, there was even a video montage with a quick shot of Bey holding Blue Ivy, rocking her. The video showed the audience how grateful she is, just like we saw with all the vacation and candid family shots on her Tumblr.

Beyonce‘s return to the stage at Atlantic City’s Revel Resort was more than entertaining; it was fashionably daring and visually stunning!

Less than six months ago, Beyonce gave birth to her first child–Blue Ivy Carter. The superstar retreated to the privacy of her love kingdom to enjoy motherhood, but it wouldn’t be long before the stage would call the Queen back to her throne.

Beyonce donned custom-made “modern showgirl” costumes from designers: Ralph & Russo, The Blondes, David Koma, and mother–Tina Knowles for House of Deréon Couture.

Atlantic City’s newly constructed (billion-dollar) Ovation Hall was the scene on May 26th and 27th. Bey commanded an audience of over five-thousand fans, critics, taste-makers and whomever else was lucky enough to secure a ticket to the sold-out show.

“‘I’m gonna say this and then I’m gonna end mine.’ BEYONCE is the best performer in the world. Period” husband Jay-Z declared via Twitter.

Beyonce is just one of the artist that have been inspired by Donna Summer‘s electric voice and music. Her single “Naughty Girl”–off her album Dangerously In Love–was a direct sample of Summer’s “Love To Love You Baby.”

Donna Summer died two days ago from lung cancer. Her passing has prompted an emotional response from Beyonce:

Donna Summer made music that moved me both emotionally and physically to get up and dance. You could always hear the deep passion in her voice. She was so much more than the queen of disco she became known for, she was an honest and gifted singer with flawless vocal talent. I’ve always been a huge fan and was honored to sample one of her songs. She touched many generations and will be so sadly missed.

My love goes out to her family during this difficult time.

Jennifer Lopez has “American Idol” to thank. It single-handedly reinvigorated her music career and gave the singing, dancing, acting phenom the boost back into the spotlight. Jennifer Lopez, topped Forbe Magazine’s “Most Powerful Celebrity” list. The list is based off several components, including: “media visibility in print, television, radio and online, plus social media power, which we measure by looking at each celebrity’s presence on Facebook and Twitter.”

Lopez raked in $52 million last year. If J.Lo will hold onto the top spot next year is the question! The triple threat may not be returning to “American Idol!”

Beyonce was missing in action at the New York Association of Black Journalists (NYABJ) award ceremony last night.Bey won an award for an article “Eat, Play, Love” that she wrote for Essence Magazine.

The article was an exclusive look into the notoriously private life of Beyonce, and her first self-written article for a magazine.

The event served to recognize the work of more than 40 journalists. Attendees included: Mashonda, Emil Wilbekin, Tonya Lee, Melanie Fiona, and Constance White just to name a few.

No word as to why Bey was a no-show! I’m guessing Bey is packing for her move to London with Jay for his summer tour.

Beyonce and hubby Jay-Z are reportedly looking for a home across the pond in London. The couple are said to have rented a townhouse in London close to good friends, Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin and Simon Cowell after being recommended to make the move by family friends.

A source told the Sun:

“Both Jay-Z and Beyoncé are going to be spending a lot of time in London over the next few months. Jay is over here for his ‘Watch The Throne’ Tour and Radio 1′s Big Weekend and Beyoncé will be launching her perfume in Europe over the summer. They wanted to have somewhere more homely now they are parents.”

Jay’s touring pal Kanye West, who is also heading over for the tour, has reportedly booked out an entire floor of the posh Lanesborough hotel.

We’re sure there’ll be many Kimmy sightings, as the reality star has rearranged her schedule so she can join her new man while he’s on tour.

Beyonce’s three-day Memorial Day tour at Revel Ovation Hall has officially turned into a four-day showing after high demand. According to Beyonce’s official site, Monday May 28th needed to be added to the tour dates because Bey’s three -day tour from May 25th-27th sold out in less than a minute.

Tickets for the new show on Monday, May 28 will be available to Beyonce’s dedicated fans through a presale exclusively on her site on Friday, May 11 at 10 a.m., EST. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday, May 14 at 10 a.m., EST. at all Ticketmaster locations and online. These are sure to sell out in less than a minute as well.

The Beyhive can’t wait to see their Queen again live. It’s been about a year’s time since we’ve seen our favorite baby momma gyrate and belt out her hits on stage. This is definitely the hottest ticket of the summer.

My big question is–why is Beyonce doing these little three and four day tours? What happened to full-length tours?

The New York Association of Black Journalists awarded Queen Bey with the first place prize in the Arts & Entertainment category for her “Eat, Play, Love” article in Essence magazine.

During her pregnancy with Blue Ivy Carter, Bey gained 50 pounds, but it wasn’t long after that when she made her reappearance to the world that she looked absolutely fabulous without the extra weight.

After being crowned he world’s most beautiful woman, Bey told People mag:

“I lost most of my weight from breast-feeding and I encourage women to do it; it’s just so good for the baby and good for yourself.”

Beyonce’s pregnancy was always an enigma that stood stealthily on it’s own two feet as a pop culture phenomenon. When Queen Bee announced the “love growing inside of her” at last year’s MTV VMAs during her “Love On Top” performance, we all sat, jaws dropped in disbelief that our favorite pop star was creating life.

The disbelief took on a life all its own when Beyonce was spotted out in her tightest dresses and highest heels and even more so when she appeared on Autralian TV in an interview where she went to sit down and the fabric of her dress folded over, and seemingly crushed her unborn Blue Ivy. Another clouded reality was Beyonce’s pregnancy timeline. It seemed to flash before our eyes and th whispered rumors got louder.

“That was crazy. It wasn’t hurtful, it was just crazy,” Beyonce tells PEOPLE. “[I thought] ‘Where did they come up with this?’”

Even Bey’s mom, Tina Knowles, was brokenhearted by the surrogacy rumors. “I thought it was very unfair and very cruel that someone would think that someone would be that diabolical to keep up a charade like that for nine months,” Tina says. ”As a mother it was painful for me to hear the crazy rumors. And I even had people ask me, which was so ridiculous.”

Tina went on to say that because of all of the love and support from loyal Beyonce fans, they’ve been able to deal with the “stupid rumors.”

I don’t know much about being a mother personally, but I do understand just how hurtful it can be to experience the joy of becoming one, but have the world take that away from you because they assume you want to be deceptive and pay someone to have your child for you, but pretend all the while that you’re with child. It’s a bit too sick to even think that Beyonce or anyone around her would go for that.

Up until she gave birth, Beyonce could be spotted at any given time in a hot pair of heels. Despite the swollen ankles and weight most pregnant women complain about, Bey wouldn’t let go of her shoes. That was, until she actually delivered Blue Ivy.

Bey revealed to the NYPost: “I never thought there would be a day when I wouldn’t wear heels. Now that I have a child, I walk around holding her all day, I’m buying loafers and oxfords. I love them, because they’re comfortable,” she says. “And shorter heels too. I’d always thought, ‘The higher the heel, the sexier.’ But now I’m like, ‘These are really sexy.’”

Beyonce made it known that she wants nothing to do with the Kardashian Klan attempting to enter her circle via dating her hubby’s partner in crime, Kanye West. Khloe Kardashian went to blow smoke up Beyonce’s you-know-what on Twitter yesterday in attempts to get on Queen Bey’s good side. Khloe was referring to Beyonce’s feature in PEOPLE as the most beautiful woman of 2012.

Beyonce is giving Kim Kardashian the cold shoulder! Kim thought once she started dating Jay-Z’s boy Kanye, it would get her closer to Beyonce, but Bey is not having it, she does not want Kimmy in her circle.

Word on the street is:

Kim had visions of her and Beyonce hanging out while Jay and Kanye talked music and business, but it’s not going to happen. Bey’s marriage to Jay-Z was extremely private, and neither of them confirmed it until long after the event. Kim, on the other hand, turned her wedding into a media circus, and the whole thing was filmed for a reality show. Bey thought that it was really tacky and is not a fan of reality TV, either. Bey is used to hanging out with Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow—she’s in a totally different league to Kim.

These two aren’t even in the same league! Bey is very private and I’m sure she doesn’t want Kim and her reality show entourage in her business.

Beyonce Is People’s Most Beautiful Woman

People magazine has named Beyonce as the World’s Most Beautiful Woman for 2012.

Commenting on her selection, Beyonce tells People:

“I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth. I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this Earth.”

Beyonce, gave birth to her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, in January.

When asked who does her daughter most resemble? “She looks like Blue,” says Beyoncé, who is back to her pre-pregnancy weight and gearing up for her first post-baby concerts, Memorial Day weekend at the Revel Atlantic City. “She’s her own person.”

“The best thing about having a daughter is having a true legacy,” she adds. “The word ‘love’ means something completely different now.”

Word on the street is that Jay-Z and Beyonce want a sibling for their daughter Blue Ivy as soon as possible.

Star magazine claims that they are already excited about adding to their family as they want their children to be close in age:

“They see no reason to wait.”

“Beyonce has said giving birth and dropping the baby weight was far easier than she thought.”

“It took them a while to conceive Blue Ivy, so they don’t want to waste another second.”

“Beyonce and Jay-Z adore being parents, and they’re as hands-on as they possibly can be. Beyonce has found a passion other than music, and it’s being a mom.”

The couple recently went for a romantic getaway to St. Barts with insiders saying they want to start trying as soon as possible.

“It took them a while to conceive Blue Ivy, so they don’t want to waste another second,” the insider revealed.

“Beyoncé and Jay-Z adore being parents, and they’re as hands-on as they possibly can be. Beyoncé has found a passion other than music, and it’s being a mom.”
