The R&B singer also told Page Six at Denise Rich’s apartment he recently bought a Porsche Cayenne and Porsche Panamera, since both have room for baby seats, and redecorated his home. “That’s all I need is little Madeline to push a sculpture down on her head. Can’t have that.” NE-YO and Rich are working together on his Compound Foundation for foster teens. Ne-Yo will perform at Rich’s Angel Ball for Cancer Research on Oct. 21.

Police in Albuquerque, New Mexico, questioned a Georgia woman after witnesses said they saw her slap her 13-month-old child during a flight, according to police reports. When I read this two things came to mind. The first being: Please let the baby be okay. The second being: God please I hope the Mom isn’t a Black woman. Black women are  constantly generalized as being horrible mothers and the idea that little Black babies need to be saved by White women all over the world a’ la Madonna and Sandra Bullock is spreading.

The flight attendant ultimately secured the child from the parents for the duration of the flight. The baby girl had a black eye, which the parents said was from a dog bite from an uncle’s Great Dane, the report said. Both parents were questioned by police and then released on their own recognizance after medical personnel examined the child for injuries. The family then boarded another flight.

Another passenger told police that they heard slaps, and the mother tell her daughter to “shut up” and that “I didn’t hit you that hard.” The Mother was then asked whether she felt it was acceptable for her to slap a 13 month old and she replied with the classic parental  line “She is my daughter.”

My question to you is whether it is ever acceptable for another person to interfere in how a stranger is handling their children? In my opinion, I always urge people to interfere if your first mind is urging you to. Or if you sense the child is in danger. The safety of the child comes before insulting the parent. So if you see something which gives you the impression that the child’s well being is in danger then say something. You might ultimately be saving the child’s life.

Alternatively, there are people who would disagree with me vehemently saying that the parent has the right to punish and raise their child as they see fit without others interfering in their affairs. They would also go on to say that the parent is the one that clothes the child, feeds the child, etc so no one else’s opinion matters but their own. They are the responsible for them and can discipline them as they see fit.

Although both opinions have validity to them, I tend to stay grounded in my original opinion. Every day we hear about a child being killed by an abusive parent. At some point, someone saw clues that this child was in danger but chose to mind their own business as not to insult the parents or simply did not want to get involved. Perhaps if more people were more observant of children’s safety less children would remain in abusive homes.

Suggestions for the weary

There’s no magical formula for getting enough sleep, but these tried-and-true tips may give you a few ideas.

• Sleep when your baby sleeps. Turn off the ringer on the phone, hide the laundry basket, and ignore the dishes in the kitchen sink. Your chores can wait.

• Set aside your social graces. When friends and loved ones visit, don’t offer to be the host. Let them care for the baby while you excuse yourself for some much needed rest.

• Reclaim your bedroom. At first, it may be most practical to share a bedroom with your baby — especially if you’re breast-feeding. But if your baby’s breathing, squirming, and general restlessness keep you awake, separate rooms may be the key to sound sleep.

Instead of watching over your child every second she’s in sweet slumberland, find out some of the things you can do to lower the risk of SIDS by reading on.

So how do you fight against the leading cause of death in infants in the United States? Before you give in to the urge to set up shifts between the two of you to watch over her as she sleeps (new parents need all the sleep they can get with an infant in the house!), here are some tips to help reduce the risk that your child will fall into the wrong side of the statistics.

1) Back to sleep

Over the years the rules have changed, and pediatricians and the AAP agree that putting a baby on her back to sleep is the safest position for your little princess. Make sure grandparents, babysitters and other care givers are adhering to this life-saving rule! Save tummy time for when she’s awake, which will help strengthen her neck muscles and reduce the risk of SIDS even further.

2) Nothing in the crib except baby

Do not put stuffed animals, pillows, quilts, or soft bumpers in the crib when your sweet pea is sleeping. Using a sleep sack to keep your baby cozy is best, but if you must use a blanket, make sure it’s tucked into the well-fitted crib mattress and does not extend up past her chest.

3) Say no to smoking

Infants exposed to cigarette smoke have a higher risk of SIDS. Do not smoke during pregnancy, or expose your baby to second hand smoke once she’s joined the outside world.

A news story on a Russian music website claims Swizz Beatz has a two year old daughter with Moscow born singer Jahna Sebastian.

The two allegedly met at London famous club Ministry of Sound in August 2007. All her attempts to contact Swizz Beatz after realizing she was pregnant failed. So she did it with the help of her lawyers.

In July 2009 Swizz Beatz had to come to London to take the paternity test (it is reported that Alicia was there as well) and the results proved that he was indeed the father.

The singer who now resides in London addresses that since then she gets no financial support from her famous baby daddy.

Healthy weight gain during pregnancy usually hovers in the 25- to 40-lb. range. When you do go through the nine-month span of pregnancy and deliver your baby, you are destined to have at least some residual weight leftover. You can lose your baby weight in your own home. In order to do this, you still need to go through the same motions as for weight loss. Here are some tips from shine.com:

Step 1

Eat foods that are high in nutrients and low in empty calories. Avoid processed meats, commercial baked goods, deep fried foods, white bread, chips and candy. Consume foods that are quality sources of protein, carbs and fats, like chicken breasts, eggs, lean beef, whole grains, beans, fruits, vegetables and oils.

Step 2

Consume water as your only beverage. Stay away from the soft drinks, fruits drinks, alcoholic beverages and sweetened teas. They offer empty calories and they can cause your baby weight to stay right where it is. Drink eight to ten cups of water daily instead. Drink it with your meals to help fill your stomach.

How to deal with morning sickness

Step 3

Prepare a small meal every two to three hours to keep your metabolism elevated. Baby carrots and celery stalks with cheese sticks is a good meal example. Make sure that each meal has a portion of fiber-rich complex carbs and protein. This can keep you feeling full and prevent you from overeating.

Step 4

Do push-ups. Lie on your stomach with your hands directly under your shoulders and your knees on the floor. Cross your legs over one another and push yourself off the floor until your arms are fully extended. Contract your core to straighten your back and slowly lower your chest toward the floor. Stop when it is about the width of your fist away and then push yourself back up.

How long should baby sleep?

First, it’s important to understand that if you’re waiting for the day your infant begins to rack up the Zzzzzs, know that “sleeping through the night” doesn’t always mean sleeping from bedtime until dawn. Stretches of sleep varies by age.

“By age two months you’ll notice you’re probably only waking up once or twice a night to feed,” explains David L. Hill, MD, FAAP.” “By four months of age most infants will be able to sleep around eight hours at night without waking to feed. As babies begin to take solids their sleep periods lengthen, and a 6-month-old is likely to sleep 8 to 10 hours at night.”

But, even if your baby isn’t ready to go 10-hour stretches, it’s never too early to teach your little one how they can get the most amount of shut-eye.

A good night’s sleep starts long before the sun sets. Help your bundle of joy keep his days and nights straight by keeping daytime stimulation going, even during naptimes. If your darling does need a diaper change in the middle of the night, try to limit interaction, keep the room dark by using a nightlight or low-wattage lamp, and minimize stimulation. It’ll help maintain the message that it’s time to sleep so he’ll be more likely to drift back to lullaby land, giving you and baby the rest you both need!

According to Monica, Keyshia was in labor since last night, and her fiancée, Cleveland Cavaliers baller Daniel “Boobie” Gibson, was by her side in the delivery room.

Monica told her fans that Cole’s baby would be named after Gibson: “@MissBreaBabie yes.. It’s a boy and he will be named after his father. I love that. Lots of Men really love being named after they’re dad.”

Monica’s first status update came around 2:30 p.m. ET, stating: “RT everyone is calling me &asking about KC. She’s doing great. She’s in active labor but the baby has not been born yet as reported.”

TMZ has obtained a photo of the alleged love child of Beyonce’s dad Mathew Knowles. Knowles has yet to take a DNA test, but I do see a resemblance!!!

Baby mama Alexsandra Wright, who claims she had an 18 month affair with Knowles, recently filed a paternity suit against him in October and gave birth on February 4. Wright’s lawyers are in court today, trying to get Knowles to pony up child support — so far, sources say, he hasn’t paid a cent.

Last night the rumor mill was buzzing that Keyshia Cole was in labor. According to multiple media sources, Keyshia Cole was in the hospital having contractions along with Daniel Gibson by her side and it will only be a few hours before she gives birth!

Here’s what went down:

Keyshia’s baby daddy was at the Cavs/Heat game and at some point during the game, a TNT sportscaster mentioned on air that Keyshia’s fiance, Daniel “Boobie” Gibson had left the arena and was at the hospital with Keyshia. Daniel Gibson later returned to the arena to help his Cleveland Cavaliers take on Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat which means Keyshia is not ready to drop that baby!

Daniel Gibson and Keyshia’s due date is actually in March.

Nick Cannon, 29, and Mariah Carey, 40, haven’t slowed down since tying the knot. He’s Chairman of TeenNick and has been busy hosting “America’s Got Talent,” as well as his new radio show, while she’s touring the country promoting her latest CD, “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel” and has a remix album due out later this year.

According to mediatakeout.com the DNA tests just came back – confirming that the child is, in fact, a Knowles. Beyonce’s mom Tina officially filed for divorce in November.

No word yet on the baby’s name.

Kourtney Kardashian, the eldest of the clan, is on the cover of the latest issue of OK! magazine giving what seems to be an exclusive interview about losing a bunch of weight after having her first child – a son, born only 6 weeks ago.

But Kardashian, 30, said she never sat down for any interview.

And even worse, she says the body isn’t hers.

She tweeted:

She then also told Women’s Wear Daily that the magazine “doctored and Photoshopped my body to make it look like I had lost all the weight, which I have not.”

Women’s Wear Daily also pointed out that the photo used on the OK! cover was from an entirely different photo shoot done for Life & Style. In addition to completely erasing her still-protruding after-birth belly, they changed the color of her dress, as well as lengthened it.

After hearing all the rumors that are making the rounds on the internet, Keyshia Cole released the following statement:

To all my friends and fans – It’s time that I clear the air. It’s not a secret that I haven’t been in contact with my mother Frankie, and my sisters Neffe and Elite and I never wanted to air out our differences to the public. While I won’t go into detail here I find it necessary to let you guys know I decided to stop communication with them because I was at a point in my life where I needed serenity and peace to move forward. Please know I love my family very much but it was time to let it go. You guys are a witness to a lot of what was happening from watching on air and online. Now that I am becoming a mom my passion for having a loving and peaceful home for my child is my #1 priority. It’s very important to both Daniel and I. My plate is very full; I have a new baby coming, we are planning our wedding and I am working in the studio on a new album that I am close to completing. The stress that my family is giving me with their constant false reports is not healthy and it’s not what I need at this time in my life. Please understand that there are only a few people that can officially confirm or deny anything that’s happening in my life and that’s me, Daniel, and my publicist, Tresa Sanders. And my girl Monica never lies.
