some of the men posting here really need to get a clue. don’t put every women in one category. there are bad apples in every bunch. don’t assume that all women who sees a man’s potential is out for his money. My hope would be that all men would recognize their worth and strive to achieve it. you really attract what you put out there. For men and women who say they are educated with a good job, etc and are still single maybe you should evalute what you are looking for in a mate and do the opposite of what you’ve been doing because it’s obviously not working for you.

To be honest, I was flat broke when I met my girl… since then I’ve come a ways.

Its plausible that she sought me for my potential, but its not like both ladies and fellas have to put in 60% to make it work – yes, I did the math.

You guys are looking at this all wrong. They give you HALF the story and let ya’ll duke it out. It’s one thing to strike oil and date a Fortune 500. However, when you find that somebody, and you BOTH put in that work to make each other happy, there’s something there you can truly be proud of.

Some people aren’t diamonds-in-the-rough. But that doesn’t mean crystal, or even Zirconia cant’ cut it.

I hate to be the brotha that spreads the negativity, but this article reeks of some hot stankin’ BS! I’m a phenominal artist who is clearly destined for greatness and yet perpetually single. I won’t sit here and rip on the sistas (whether they are aware of their Royally F’d up mentality or not), but this goes for a bout 99.999% of women in this country. As a man, If your whip isn’t sick or your pockets don’t look a certain way, potential or not, you can forget it.

Women treat life like a sale at the mall, trying to get everything even if they can’t carry it. Whenever you look for “the one” the last you want to do is settle, but for the love of god, BE REALISTIC! You want “Tupac with a Degree”, but it is NOT GONNA HAPPEN! So go for those street dudes and douchebags if you want’em ladies…When gives you a black eye, turns you into a baby factory, or brings you an STD for your birthday, I’ll just be laughing.

i DO believe there is a sucn thing as a male being “too-good”. no female wants a complete wimp that they can run over and boss around. and also, street sense AND common sense ARE just as important as having a degree. we DO live in a barbaric world you know. the most IMPORTANT factor FOR ME is that females have to remember; YOU CAN BE A 10 IN LOOKS, YOU CAN HAVE A DEGREE FROM THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS SCHOOL, YOU CAN HAVE ONE OF THE TOP PAYING JOBS IN THE COUNTRY ALONG WITH A HOUSE AND THREE CARS BUT STILL………..THAT DOESN’T MEAN THAT YOU HAVE A “GOOD” PERSONALITY/DOESN’T MAKE YOU WIFE MATERIAL. and the same goes for the men.

Hmph… This article is BS in my eyes. If women wanted guys for potential, I would have a girl right now. I’m single, no kids, a job in a terrible economy, have a college degree and an extremely nice and attractive person according to everyone, but I can’t get a girlfriend or keep one. I had a girl turn me down because she feels I don’t have the street smarts she likes… Meanwhile she’s with a guy in JAIL! I’m tired of women mentioning things they “want” in a man but then turning around and doing the polar opposite of their claims! I’m tired of being the “friend” and shoulder to cry on all the time. I don’t want to hear that BS when I had a crush on you the whole time you’re crying to me about some guy doing you wrong everyday. As I say, sometimes I feel cursed to never find someone with mutual feelings as I for each other. Am I venting? Yes because I honestly feel women are full of it these days… Well some of them… Sorry good girls. :) It’s ridiculous because stuff like this is what kills self-esteem and what makes good guys bad… What’s the things a black woman would say? “There aren’t any good brothas around”… “All brothas are either married or gay”…”He likes white girls, or the white girls are stealing our men!”… They can’t steal something that’s not wanted by you.

I know where I’m going and I do have ambition about who I am going to become. I go to school and I’m about to get my BA and my masters is coming strait after that. I know when a man has the potential to be something grater than he thinks he can be. It bothers me to see a man let his talents go to waste just because no one encouraged him to be all that he can be. So if I am in love with a brilliant man that has fallen through the cracks and has become a product of his environment I will do all I can do to make sure that I help him to become the best he can be.
