white women have always preferred curves over being straight up and down likea stick figure. Thats why they invited bustiers and corsettes; to make it look like they have some type of figure. White folks, who know how to raise their own self esteem and promote themselve adn superiour, started touting the image of straight up and down skinney woman shapeless woman. I noticed a long time ago that when it came to strip clubs and prostitutes and such (the women men actually choose to go spend there own money on) be it black or white the women are usually very curvy and there are very few if any skinnney curveless women.
Also I think a great debt is owed to hip hop too even though most don’t want to admit.

I am a plus sized curvy woman, and although I wouldn’t mind losing a few lbs, I wouldn’t trade my curves for anything! Ain’t nothing wrong with some meat on the bones!

I don’t mind if a lady has a FEW extra ounds(bodies changes over time). but if she cannot don a thong or a bikini, then she turned into Aunt Bea or Precious, and do I want that? Nuh unnnnn……..

Research! The natural instinct in men prefers a curvy, voluptuous woman. Not what the our pop culture or media dictates. The natural instinct in men also prefer women with healthy hair. It sounds frivolous but the studies confirm this. The reason is just like in the animal kingdom, survival of the fittest. Yes, we do have dominion over the animals but our natural instincts are triggered to procreate, therefore we healthy beings are attracted to other healthy people. Being rail then, bad hair, bad skin, or out of shape and always have some type of ailment is not beautiful. Look it up.

Well, I know I’m loving MY new curves. I’m 5’3 130 pounds for the past year and 1/2. Before that I was 105-110 pounds, hated that, after years of trying to grain weight, I finally did. I got curves I didn’t even know I had. I would never want to be that thin again. My clothes look better on me and everything. Man, anybody who would want to be that small as a grown ass women, got some serious issues. I found my miss new booty and my bra size went up too, I’m loving my lil phatty.

I agree with others. Most black women have always preferred being curvy over being thin (except for those that want to be “super (runway) models”.

Fat men were attractive way back in the day cause people were hungry and you had to have money to eat. But the resurgence of curvy as attractive in women probably has most to do with black people being trend setters. When black people say having a** is great it doesn’t take long for white america to want that too.

Bottom line is other ethnicity’s like black culture but don’t like black people. I know of a hip hop club here in the south that doesn’t even let black people in lol.

Curvy is sexy, not to say thin is’nt all that bad, but just like some people are skinny due to genetics the same goes for curvy or heavier sizes. No matter if your a size 5/7 or 17/18 just gotta keep it sexy and mos def healthy. Flaunt them curves if you got them, a pillow is better than a pencil any day.

They always did, some people are so “trendy” that they want to chnage their bodies to fit in. I feel as if people outside of Hollywood have always favored curvy women.

Hopefully this means that more young women are embracing idea that everyone is not meant to be very thin. The message is love your curves! Having some extra weight (proportioned nicely) isn’t a bad thing!

True @BeautifulSun .. But at the same time how can anyone blame a woman for having curves? I’m of Spanish descent so I know where mine came from .. But honestly how can people say just bc a woman isn’t black and has curves that she is “copying” black women? That’s crazy. Like shiit… If you have curves you do, if you don’t you don’t. Not much can change that, short of surgery. Either way people need to be happy for what they have been blessed with, curves or not. Obviously you must know you’re gorgeous look at your sn! ;)

Christina is a cute woman. She just has some big breasts but shes not that curvy. I guess to white people that is curvy? People don’t appropriate different body types. I’m not skinny & I don’t think I will ever be a size.. 8 or lower.. maybe if I try I can get down to a 10 but regardless I don’t want to be that size and I don’t think I’m meant to be that size.

its sad to see that some females think that another race is stealing something that doesnt technically belong to them…. Women, no matter what race should have some curves… Im a white female and I have curves and I have a ass as well… thats what I was born with, can I help that no, did I “steal” or trying to be like a black woman, no. So just because young women now are trying to actually look healthy, not anorexic and constantly being told you should be rail thin to me is a good thing. I say that women in general should say finally we dont have to sit around looking at the tv, and magazines thinking we HAVE to look like that. Curves are not a black thing… its a female thing.
