GLAM OR GROSS? Eve’s Dress Is…Very Shiny

What in Hefty bag hell does Eve have on? I’m slowly starting to think this shiny plastic dress trend should stay where it originated – at stripper clothing boutiques – and quit appearing on the red carpet. While Fergie’s was tolerable, Eve’s reminds me of those Duct Tape Prom Dress contests – you know, the ones where you and your date make your outfits out of tape and win a scholarship or a car or something? It pains me to think this is couture; people will buy anything if there’s a famous label attached to it.

At any rate, here she is, at last night’s New Now Next Awards, looking like she just hopped off the corner and didn’t have time to change before hitting the red carpet.

What do you think of the ensemble?

I can’t lie – I’m kind of feeling the new hair, though. It has a very Vanity 6/80s girl band feel. Check out some of her past hairdos in the gallery below.

    I like the dress. They took a basic wrap dress and made it with a different texture fabric. As far as it being a stripper dress I doubt it. If you look close you can see the collar and using this texture to make a dress is very hard.

    I like that EVE takes risk with her clothing.

    As far as her hair, she’s about the only African American woman I’ve seen that can look beautiful with that color and cut.

    I prefer her to do her and nobody else.

    damn, that dress look’s like a rain coat with out the long sleeves and hood! no, it’s not the most stylish i’ve seen her in but if she was going to the strip spot, i think it would come in handy for all those overly excited men, if you get my drift! LOL! anyways, you mean to tell me she couldn’t find anything from her lame FETISH clothing line to wear? what gives?

    Yes, yes, yes, Eve’s definitely killing it in that dress no doubt off top! Stop hating! In addition to her next CD finally coming out, I’d also like to see her in more films. She’s a decent actress as well.

    Eve can rock any style and make it her own and look good doing it because she has a unique look with high cheekbones. Black Bloggers need to stop being so cruel though with the comments, I think the dress is hot though, but I did LOL because I really have fun reading some of these blogs. I know Eve is just going to let the negativity slide off her shoulders.
