1 bar of yardley’s english lavendar soap
11/2 cups of sugar
1 cup of almond meal
1 cup of olive oil
mix sugar, almond meal and olive oil in a small plastic container and roll soap into mixture as needed

For soft feet. I use a homemade foot scrub with strawberries (the acid helps exfoliate).

STRAWBERRY FOOT EXFOLIANT:

10 strawberries
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 teaspoon of sea salt
*Mix together and massage into feet. Rinse. Pat dry.

For a quick pimple removal: Egg whit and salt mixed into a paste dabb on pimple and this evaporates the pimple as soon as the mixture drys.

Take raw shea, a secret ingredient, and cocoa butter and melt down, set in refridgerator and this compound clears up eczemia and severe dry skin.

Brown Sugar Scrub:

1 cup of Brown Sugar
1/2 cup of olive oil
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
2 tablespoons of liquid vitamin E (optional)

It smells great and it makes your skin feel fresh and baby smooth.

This recipe can be used as a body butter AND a hair moisturizer!

7oz unrefined Shea butter
4oz Aloe Vera Gelly (Clear, Fruit of the Earth brand from Target)
3oz Coconut Oil
2oz oil of your choice
OPTIONAL: Drops of your fave EOs if you don’t use a strong flavor oil

First, melt the Shea butter in a glass bowl set in boiling water. Soften coconut oil in the microwave (not all the way to liquid) then mix in a glass bowl with the Aloe gel and Banana oil with a wire whisk. When Shea butter fully melts, pour it in the Aloe/oil mix. Beat with mixer on medium speed for about two minutes. Then pour into an empty plastic container that has an air tight lid. Put it in the fridge for a couple of hours to solidify.

Well my sister gave me a tip one day that if you drink a couple of glasses of warm water and lemon juice a day, it will cleanse your whole body from your hair down to your toes. I, of coarse, didn’t believe her. I tried it for a week and I have to say i have never felt healthier. My face is much, much clearer and my hair feels way softer! Try it! It really works! : )

My beauty recipe is one I found on Black PIanet when I signed in to a group I am in. I wear locs and I couldn’t find anything to keep my hair soft and shiny,one day I was reading one of my groups and I saw that washing your locs with Dawn dishwashing detergent works wonder on your hair so I tried it and girl, I got compliments on how shiny and soft my hair looks. So if you wear locs, try it !

This one is for those of us whose skin and mind are kinda worn at the end of the week. It’s a green tea and grape oil body scrub. You take granulated sugar, equal parts of grapeseed oil and johoba oil and mix. Then mix in 1 bag of green tea. Put it into a container and put in refrigerator. Honestly people always ask me what I do to keep my skin clear and shiny, I use grapefruit, not only do I drink grapefruit juice but I also cut the grapefruit in half and I use the natural juice and use it to wash my face. It works wonders. :)

When I am having a rough day I put my face over a bowl of hot water and honey. The steam from the water relaxes and exfoliates your skin while the you breath in the honey and just relax. Takes my stress away.

To avoid dry and hard lips I take a little vaseline and rub it on my lips, let it sit for 5 minutes then take a toothbrush and rub it in my lips with a toothbrush. Or when my face gets oily I take an egg and beat it. Then I rub it all over my face. It feels gooey and sticky but the end result is great. Once it drys just wash your face with warm water.

Well,this might sound crazy but a good thing to use for your face is,cornmeal and water! If you haven’t noticed,cornmeal has sort of a rough texture like scrubs! You apply it to your face,let it dry and then wash off! It makes your skin feel amazing!!! You should try it!!!

What’s up BP, I really should’nt be telling this casue it’s been in my family for generations but here it is… U take 1 avocado cut it up and mix it in a bowl and sqeeze the juice of 1 lemon and mix it to a paste, place mixture on face and leave for 30 minutes and wash face and apply your favorite lotion/face cream and you’re sure to have clear, tight and flawless skin. Well I got this from a friend and actually LOVE it…. FOr a Facial Scrub I use some sugar and some Lemon… use a smal amount of sugar put it in the palm of your hand… cut a lemon in half and just put a couple of drops of the lemon and mix it with the sugar… using the cut lemon half pick up some of the mixture and rub it on your face then with a Moist cloth wipe it off… the lemon is really good for blemishes as well… its GREAT!!!!

I use the whites of one egg and oatmeal as a facial it tightens your skin and shrinks yours pores. Also during the changing of the seasons my skin peels along my t zone and nose so I get a little sugar add water and use it as an exfoliate. Ok one more, I like to cut up oranges in some hot water in my basin and soak my feet, wash them and use the pumice stone, and when i’m done I put olive oil on my feet then cover them with socks. My feet are soft after that treatment. Just everyday household things are cost effective an can go a long way especially when you can’t afford to treat yourself to a day spa. Hey were in a recession.

As a natural haired sister and hater of every and anything that includes chemicals, I have many recipes anyone can use/make at home for improving the softness, shininess and overall manageability of their hair. I have two recipes for you. One is for “shealoe.” It is a mixture of 100% raw shea butter and aloe vera oil or juice. Talk about soft and shiny hair?? Girl please, you’ll think you woke up with a new head of hair after applying this mixture. You put the shea butter and aloe vera juice in a bowl and whip the two together for a fluffy moisturizer. Add your favorite scented oil (mine is coconut) and apply to your scalp and hair. Prepare to strut your stuff like you were born with this FABULOUS hair! Another is Vegetable Glycerin. Simple add water, vegetable glycerin, rosemary or tea-tree oil to an 8-ounce spray bottle, spray all over your head and your hair will feel baby soft. Now, I can’t be responsible for all of the looks you will get for this new, soft and shiny hair you are rockin’!!! ENJOY!!!
