Thank you so much for your article. I only wish we could get it out on the airways so others can hear it. I am also a proud American and understood what first lady Michelle Obama was saying when she said for the first time, I am proud to be an American. Unless you have been there, you would not understand. But we or parents, our grandparents, great-grandparents were there and lived it. What I can not understand is how we have come to far and have forgotten where we come from. President Obama deserves better and our people really should be ashame. And yes, I am embrassed that we elected him out in full force and we should stand behind him in full force. We are called couch potatoes and said by the GOP that we are the “P’s” as in cat. How are we proving them wrong. We need to do as you did and get out and vote. It is an honor, as it was and honor to elect Pres. Obama to the White House. Let’s not leave him high and dry,he does not deserve it! Let’s get out and vote just like Deborah did November 2. Let’s show that we are united behind our President. He can’t do it alone!!

The American people have turned their backs on a past of slavery and segregation by placing their faith in Barack Obama and electing him the first African-American to the US presidency.

Martin Luther King had a dream and on Inauguration Day, we can all wake up and know the dream has become a reality. I am sure Martin is in heaven saying, “I Told You We Could”. Meanwhile, President-elect Barack Obama, myself, and the rest of the American people are saying, “Yes We Can”.
