Congrats on the new school Be! I hope that many women will find some confidence and healing on their way to recovery and self-sufficiency. Hopefully the $200,000 you and Mom donate will increase with C.O.L.A. … I’m just sayin’ :-).

Why is t so much hate in the world today.

Why do we call people aliens? if that’s the case we are all aliens for we all were brought over here.

She open what she wanted to open, what she has a passion for not what someone else wished for.

If one ones a school open to teach then they should do just that. You do not have to have millions to teach, just the love to, start off in your basement or at your local community center, there is so much that the regular everyday person can do yet refuse to do, instead they wait for those with money to do so.

get off your butt and start something, stop saying what someone else should do with there money..

Hmm…. well, I’m sincerely happy for her. I think it’s a fantastic effort. All you need to do is watch “Good Hair” to know that there’s $$ in Cosmetology. However, in NYC $200,000 dollars will dry up REAL QUICK and inflation is a MOFO. Don’t even get me started on the Real Estate situation here, plus you have to pay the teachers , staff, and stay stocked up on supplies. But hey, Beyonce’s no fool. I’m sure they’re workin’ it out.

Right, why couldn’t she open a school to help students with academics instead of a Cosmetology center so Black women could wear more weave and wigs and probably have to buy the hair from the Asian’s? I do the Madam C.J. Walker thang and have my hair ‘Pressed’ . D@mn giving them slant eyes aliens my money!

Shefly69, good point, but Beyoncee really doesn’t owe the community anything. However, if I had been Beyoncee, I would have expanded this venture to help black business owners develop credit organizations and be able to get product at cost, like the asians do. This way, they could open their own stores.

I love the 2nd photo: it really shows the love and respect that Beyoncee and her mom have for each other. Her mom has been going through some trying times, but she seems to really handle things with great aplomb and class. That’s real beauty.

I thought when you opened a business, you opened what you wanted .. is there a list of already approved business ventures .. to me this is no different from when Salt N Pepa opened their hair Salon years ago when they were on top or Tiny opening her nail shop .. you spend your money how you want .. it is like telling the average working class person .. Oh no you can’t buy those Jordans or that Coach bag .. you need to donate that money to Charity.. if you get up and work hard .. you dont want stipulations on how to spend your money. I mean I feel bad that Whitney have spent money on drugs .. but since she worked hard for it and the money was hers to spend .. smoke away …. ☺

Hmm. Like many artists- I’ve heard some discouraging thinga about Beyonce- Gorgeous- still fabulous- and unfortunately I cant find fault with her opening up a cosmetology place. Thats my thing- so Beyonce- Kudos- But you better stop that side stuff u got goin on with Sasha Feirce- she gon get you in trubble girl!!

I think this was a fabulos idea cuz my thing is hair to but the only thing i disagree with is the fact that she opened it in Brooklyn what the Hell! Did you forget where you came from? Don’t for get it was Houston chick!
