I'm sorry I think this is nonsense. You can get the sense of family when living on campus at any school. The difference is you learn how to have that comradeship with member of different "races" who believe different things than what you believe. I think a diverse school is a better way to figure out who you are because you dont have to worry about conforming.... I did one semester at an HBCU and I hated it... I felt like because I was black I had to fit into this magical mold of what blackness is. This is just how I felt.. as for whatever children I might have in the future It is up to them. I would never push them in one direction or another because ultimately its their choice and I dont want them to feel as if they are disappointing me by doing something different. Ok..
