YAK(the big hairy animal) hair can be curled, permed, relaxed, and colored. Human hair is, however, more versatile than synthetic hair because it can be colored, relaxed, or curled with heating appliances just as one would do with his or her own hair. But, many people are allergic to yak hair so suppliers are using human hair treated to mimic the African/African American texture.

I STARTED OUT MY LIFE WITH LONG HAIR, AND OVER THE YEARS CHANGED FROM LONG TO SHORT, AND SHORT TO LONG! DEPENDING ON HOW I WANTED TO EXPRESS MY FASHION. I PERSONALLY DON’T FEEL THE NEED FOR WEAVES, HOWEVER, I DON’T HATE, FOR PEOPLE THAT DO! MY ONLY PROBLEM WITH PEOPLE THAT WEAR WEAVES IS…………..GET A PROFESSIONAL!! SOME OF THESE WEAVES OUT THERE (sorry Joy, but girl you need to change your weave source, because your’s be looking troubled!!!)THAT LOOK LIKE A BLIND BEAUTICIAN PUT IT IN! MAKE IT LOOK REAL! IF I HAVE TO STARE AT YOUR HEAD FOR A WHILE, WELL THEN YOU GOT A GOOD WEAVE! BUT IF YOU GOT A PART IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR HEAD, AND THEN A “HUMP” ON BOTH SIDES OF THE PART, LIKE SOMETHING IS HIDING UNDER YOUR PART, THEN YOUR WEAVE IS WACK!

I’ve seen it time and time again…women in the beauty shop getting their “weaves done over”. When they walk in the shop with the dusty weave (like yours usually is, Joy) they have a bounce in their step, but when the weave is taken out and they are escorted to the shampoo bowl, they have their head slightly lowered. When the fresh weave is put back in….booooyee, here comes that confident, outgoing and often very vocal in the shop woman. It’s really sad to me. I’m not pro-natural/anti perm but I think it’s just sad when women have to add hair, fake nails, eyelashes, wear a bunch of makeup and color contacts in a lot of cases to feel beautiful. You can try and sell people on the fact that you are confident in your natural skin but we can see through all of that for what it really is….just a front.

Joy, get a life and just so you know…your Pocahontas look really misses the mark in most cases. I’m not trying to be mean but I have always thought you had one of the worst overall weaves in the business. Sorry, boo.
