Wedding Planning Ups And Downs

Hello Beautiful…..

With five months to go until my wedding I have experienced some things I didn’t expect! Planning a wedding can be challenging and rewarding all at the same time. Here are some of my experiences so far:

UP: MARRIAGE COUNSELING
A MUST! We started our counseling with the pastor who will be marrying us or just “our pastor” and it has been one of the most fulfilling and rewarding experiences we’ve had so far. He’s made us think through some challenging scenarios and explained to us the roles of a man and a woman in marriage. So many people get coached or trained to do other things and neglect getting guidance before making the most important commitment of their life!

DOWN: BRIDESMAIDS
I thought I had this section well under control as I have lots of friends, great friends, but if its not one thing it’s the next! From unexpected pregnancies, to difficulties finding a dress that is flattering on everyone, this has been one of the biggest challenges so far!

UP: PICKING MY DRESS
Much easier than I anticipated! I tried on Vera Wang, Pnina Tornai and Lazaro to name a few, and after trying on almost every dress in the stores I went with a St. Pucci original that is simply breathtaking! I can’t wait for Ross to see me walk down the aisle!

DOWN: TRIMMING THE NUMBERS
Having so many people that are meaningful in our lives it’s tough drawing the line. With lots of family members and friends from high school, college, track and field, football, Church, Florida, Texas, Jamaica, it seems like the list never ends! Where do we draw the line? Do our high school friends get to bring their new friends? (I think one more outrageous example to drive this home would be nice, but not a must…like….Can a friend of a friend, of a friend, bring a friend we’ve never met before?)…..I think that’s going a little too far, but trust me, they ask!!!

UP: GET A WEDDING PLANER
If you can, get a wedding planner. Every time I feel a bit overwhelmed I call my planner, Donnie Brown, and everything is under control! It’s a great feeling knowing that you have someone that has done it a million times and can guide you to help make your special day as flawless as possible!

DOWN: KEEPING SECRETS
Ross and I love to surprise each other, but it seems like nothing stays a secret! I have my plans and I know he has his. However, so far everything seems to leak! I hate that, I don’t want him to know everything….I want to keep a few tricks up my sleeve for our big day!

    WHY IS SO IMPORTANT TO SPEND SPEND SPEND,IF THE LOVE,LUST OR WHAT NEGROES CALL IT THEN MAKE UR WAY DOWN TO THE JUSTICE OF THE PEACE AND DO THE THING.SPEND $500 TO $1000 AND LEAVE IT AT THAT.AND AS FAR AS TALKIN TO SOME FOOL IN A ROBE AND COLLAR HE HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS YOU AND UR FUTURE HUSBAND HAVE,IF HE DOES’NT HAVE AT LEAST A MASTERS IN SOCIAL SERVICES OR PSYCHOLOGY(WHICH IS WHAT MOST BROTHERS NEED TO SEE IF HES GOING TO MARRY)THEN YOU WASTEING TIME.JUST TALK IT OUT AND ASK QUESTIONS,LIKE DO WE EAT OUT OR CAN YOU COOK LIKE MY MOMMA,DO YOU PREFER ORAL,ANAL AND WHAT TYPE OF LUBE ARE WE USING KAY/Y OR WATER BASED.AND OF COUSRE LIKE KANYE SAID IF YOU AINT A PUNK THEN WE WANT PRE/NUP,SEE NOW THATS WASN’T HARD!!!!

    @ kennyd4 Okay what’s with the angry and hateful comment? She is simply sharing her very personal part of her journey with us and your lonely and faystay self is sending her evil comments. I am single too honey and its ok.. you will find someone too but maybe kennyd4 you should seek counseling of a professional kind, you know where you have to sit on the couch, let it out, life is too short to be so angry.

Take your evil bad mind off of Sanya and Ross, if the lady wants to share her experiences she is free so to do. Why are letting the girl and her money bother you, did she beg you for a donation? You are out of order and rude, the girl and her man run up and down hard hard all year and dem want dem wedding splashing and dashing. You wid your big badmind self just sit down behind your computer a hate pon progressive people. Come off the girl back.

    I am so happy that you have found true love Sanya, as not many of us do. I am just really really happy for both you & Aaron and i wish you both the best. With God in the middle of your relationship and with the love shared between you both i know that you will overcome any obstacle that might come your way. I know it won’t be UP all the time but when the DOWN times come -as they will, approach carefully, think it through logically and have faith & remember what brought you both together in the first place.All the best Sanya.     Sanya, I know that trimming your guest list has been difficult because as you mentioned there are so many people who meant so much to you and Ross over the years.

    Its obvious that everyone can’t come. Thats why I’d like to say…

    THANK YOU and ROSS SO MUCH FOR INVITING MR. and MRS. TRACKDADDY!!! hahahahaha!

    I’d add my one little tip for successful marriage. I’ve been married for 27 years and the one thing that I believe helps to make it successful is self denial and the love of God. That is, ALWAYS put the consideration of your spouse first and he should do likewise. Be selfless and considerate of how your actions could affect him and love him and God with all your heart. Congrats and see you at the wedding!!!
