Yes, I do think that it is time to forgive this young man. He has apologized and apologized again, is getting help for his past issues leading up to the so called assault, is serving community service and needs an opportunity to move on with his life. This young man’s life did not end because he made a mistake.
The public does however play a big and major part in this because, the public can make him, break him and really break him down now. I don’t quite understand why people do not think that the public does rule when it comes down to his paycheck, where and if he performs again in front of children, on commercials,in our cities, etc, etc, etc. It’s not at all up to Rhianna. She needs to be concerned about her own career. Certainly we all know that what is done has been done but it is still really ultimately up to us. The same goes for Tiger Woods and his element of drama. When these performers sign a contract to come into our living rooms, they belong to our tv’s, etc. They no longer belong to themselves. All of this stuff about leaving the stars alone and let them work it out is so far from reality and the truth. It is our money that pays their rent. We have a major say so.
But yes, Chris Brown does deserve another opportunity to breathe and get back to his career. The stereotype will never go away of course. He has a label now as an abuser. He can never make up for that.
