Hit Or Miss: Vogue’s Tribute To Grace Jones

Vogue Italia paid tribute to style icon Grace Jones in its December issue.  Model Rose Cordero posed as Grace, in looks inspired by her bold, brazen style legacy.  Overall the shoot seems to have captured the essence of Grace’s eccentrically fearsome personality. Vogue often misses when it comes to its use of African-American figures (see its many black face misses), however, this one seems like a hit.

    Eerie… I was never a fan of Grace Jones she used to freak me out as a little girl, but they did a good job capturing her with this model.

    I always thought Grace was scarey looking, intimidating men and so forth…plus her embarassing acting in ‘Boomerang”, but the lady who looks like her doesn’t look bad at all…..

    HEY JAZZWATCH. THAT WAS NOT EMBARRASSING ACTING IN BOOMERANG. IT WAS HUMOR. SHE MADE ME LAUGH WITH HER ROLE. IT WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A SERIOUS ROLE OBVIOUSLY. LOL. ACTUALLY, I THINK SHE WAS MORE EMBARASSING IN THE BOND MOVIE.
