GALLERY: The Most Amazingly Weird Designer Shoes

In celebration of Fashion Week, here is a look at a few of the most inspired shoes to ever have hit the pavement.

While you and I couldn’t pull these things off in real life, there are several fashion addicts out there who put their money where their feet are and hit the ground running in what would seem like super weird footwear to anyone not deeply immersed in the fashion world.

One of our favorite street photographers, Tommy Ton, always covers the biggest fashion events. Take a look at some of his best work, showcasing the worlds most fabulously bizarre works of designer art.

    I love the Alexander Wang black boots! They are hot! I lvalso like the Yves Saint Laurent shoes boots (black)! The Louis Vuitton spaghetti strap stiletto sandals are sexy, and so are the blue suede Topshop boots! The others I probably wouldn’t be seen in public with ,lol but would be great for a future Gladiator or Matrix movie (for female character)! The look “other worldly”, esp the Louboutin’s with the spikes, and invisible heel(wedge) boots!
    Those ugly boots at top(grey snake) are considered “fetish boots (think s&m) dominatrix type of action! I have seen them in black patin leather in style of a ballet slipper with a hill, very arched soul! Trust me if you attempt to walk in them for any extended time your foot will ache, because the arch is unnatural!

    There were at least 10 pairs of shoes missing the heel, sole, some form of support or a combination of all of them…the big five that have shoes up there really need to stick to damn purses.

    Most of these shoes are being created by men for women ,and they don’t have clue about the level of comfort because they aren’t wearing them!

    Whomever is crazy enough to wear these shoes is going to pay the price later on in life. NONE of them were built as a shoe should be, no support, no leverage and no good distribution of the height and weight….I think these designers MUST be cohorts of Dr.Scholls and the pediatry field…Cuz thats exactly where youre headed wearing these monstrosities…

    I had a pair like #1 years ago and happy they brought it back in fashion. The only other shoes I will wear is #4 and I walk in high heels just fine without help or falling.

    Some of these shoes are sexy and a few others have me scratching my head, like what was their designer thinking? it MUST have been all about shock value and not mass appeal.

    #1 and # 3 are the business me likes those, but these others….

    nicholas kirkwood x rodarte #15 looks like somebody was playing with logos and hardware,
    gareth pugh boots # 18 ewww to the harley davison look and Dior # 19 was tripping for real

    I love fashion, but some of those shoes are not meant for every day wear. Honestly, the models wearing the shoes are little tiny girls, so if you aren’t very active, the purchase of those shoes is simply asnine. Who really wants to strut on their tippy toes?

    Avant garde fashion is the best! I had similar types of clothing in my senior fashion show last year and people liked how different my style is. I love original/unique types of apparel and any1 with confidence can pull this type of stuff off on an everyday basis. You can always mix something extreme like these shoes with a cool t-shirt that matches and some jeans. It would be hott! I can’t wait until I finally make it to Paris and show off my designer skills, I have so many fashion ideas I want the world to see!
