Though their relationship remained out of the public eye, Aaliyah and Damon Dash quickly became one of hip-hop’s favorite couples. They were only together for a little over a year, but the co-founder of Roc-a-Fella Records had every intention of marrying the R&B singer. Just days after Aaliyah died tragically, Damon held an interview with MTV News, in which he speaks on both his love for her and his mourning, saying that “everyday” with her was “a special event” and he would “do anything for her, anything to protect her.” Watch the clip here.
