WTF? ATL Housewives Nominated For NAACP “Image” Award

According to the NAACP Image Award website:

“Presented annually, the NAACP Image Awards is the nation’s premier event celebrating the outstanding achievements and performances of people of color in the arts as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice.”

But somehow, the “Real Housewives Of Atlanta” castmates have slipped through the cracks and landed a nomination for “Outstanding Reality Series.” Sure, the show is outstanding, but in what way?

Now, don’t get us wrong…we love us some RHOA, but what image are they portraying? A cat-fighting, wig-snatching, money-hungry one? We’re not so sure that’s a positive representation of women…or of blacks.

    but um, they shouldn’t even have a category for Outstanding Reality Series. what black reality show is actually positive? they’re giving awards for popularity, not substance.

    This goes to show you what is really important to the black community Real Housewives of Atlanta and everything that is represents. Now I am not saying that the women on the show are not strong black women because many of the women are entrepreneurs but why do some of the women have to act and behave like heathens? I thought it was called an image award which means the person is representing the black community in a good way as well as themselves. Now that I think about it I do not know any black program or reality series that has a great image and should even be considered for a NAACP image award it would do the NAACP good if they just eliminate the category altogether. What is the world coming to where you have individuals receiving awards for behaving badly. What is also sad is that we can name and recognize every woman on the RHOA but as a community we can not even name some of the individuals who will or has received an image award in the past for their deeds in the community now that is pathethic.

    I am so glad I have never invested in watching the NAACP Awards show, and now this seals the deal on that. Are they freakin crazy. This awful trash TV show has garnished a nomination? Two steps forward, 18 steps back.

    That just goes to show you as long as we act like uneducated idiots and buffons on tv we are accepted by white. We need to stop clowning ourselves for Amerikkkas entertainment. These women did nothing positive for the black race and got an award. I guess they are fine with that it’s all about the money.
