Man, I’m so tired about the good hair issue. It’s about as old as the “Wait for It” phrase. Society and the media, typecast us in too many negative issues. Problem is, they don’t see what we see on a daily basis. Regardless of hair, skin tone, or shape, black is beautiful all around.

It is all about how you feel on the inside. You can’t let “the world” tell you that you are unworthy or ugly. My mom has the “white girl flow” and she catches the devil with styling and management. Every hair type has it advantages and disadvantages.

Au Risque to sound ignorant,I have no clue what “good” hair is, I know what Afierce do is but “good” hair i don’ t know, I also wonder what kind of moronic Idiot judge people or themselves based on hair texture and i don’ t want to know, I wear my hair mostly natural in a wrap, or i wear braids,I don’t know about weaves but to each his/her own.

Theres no such thing as good or bad hair. With great maintenance your hair can be as good as you want it to be minus the perms and the chemicals.

that’s all slave mentality. wear ur hair however the hell you like to! which anyone can do! so how the hell is there such a thing as good hair and bad hair? I hate when people tell me that ish “girl if i had ur hair”, or “Monique have my babies so they can have ‘good’ hair” WTF?! my hair is tangle-y i hate to comb it and I have bad hair days just like the next chick!

IT SHOULDN’T MATTER!!! ALL typels of hair is beautiful in its own unique way, what makes it bad is when you don’t take care of it. I like Tyra, but some of these topics she picks to talk about are not helping people move forward from old negative views/stereotypes.

I dont care how a woman wears her hair as long as she has the confidence and swag to pull the look off. Hair is nothing but clusters of dead cells anyway, it does not make the person underneath it. I do find myself more attracted to black women who wear their hair in its natural curly state verses women who like to relax or straighten their hair. I believe that God knew what he was doing when he created all of us and the texture of hair each of us was born with is what looks best on us.

I’m with the general consensus, it shouldn’t matter. And there are some ladies who don’t do it to be white they do as a matter of personal preference. I’ve seen beautiful styles in all types of hair textures braided, curly, straight, etc. This matter did not need to be investigated
Do what you feel. If you like curly go curly and maintain it. If you like straight relax and maintain. Do what you like

i think it’s best for black women to stay natural because of the negative effects of perms. they are dangerous chemicals!! so many black women don’t realize how versatile our hair when it’s natural!! you can twist it, braid it, lock it, hot iron it! EVERY day i wear my natural hair differently!! and it takes LESS time to style than a perm would! the myth that natural black hair doesn’t grow is just that…a myth!! my hair is below my shoulders. when it’s not combed it’s kinky and cute, when it’s combed out and twisted it’s wavy and cute too!! i live in japan and women here are ENVIOUS of our versatile hair! so black women get over your insecurities and start growing out your perms. you have a gorgeous head of real hair!!

We as BLACK PEOPLE have been scarred forever by slavery,meaning we or should I say a good majority still think WHITE IS RIGHT and more beautiful.As black male that has by other BLACK PEOPLE been called “slave black”,(I GOT STRONG AFRICAN FEATURES)By other black people. some among us have messed up minds, we hate anything that remotely remind us of our AFRICAN HERITAGE.We should embrace all aspects of our afro-centric,styles of hair and skin color(whether it be black-blue to red brown ,tight curly hair(nappy)as some would say and all other styles that we have.

yeah it’s true.. black women should be pround of who they are..hair, skin or whatever. But we can’t help the image that is being put out there for us black women. All the rappers,singers, and some celebs are always singing and rapping about “model lookin girls with the small waist and the long hair, lite eyes” and all that bulls**t. I love my skin, my hair..HELL all of me. But you can’t blame everything on the black woman. Society has messed us up. I love my weaves, braids and ponytails too. Do whatever pleases you, weave or not because just like the good lord giveth, he can take it away anytime. heard of cancer? how about leukemia?
