Why date a cracker???

Early in her career, Sanaa was my top notch actress! She played the strong sister, the stand with her man sister, the fight for her man sister, the educated, beautiful sister… but then she totally fell off and started kissing and laying up with crackers in her movies… I hate it, hate it, hate it!
I watched all of her movies, had copies of them… but now, she is just like Thandie Newton, Zoe Saldana, and any other “Sister” that is in movies hugged up and kissing with crackers.
I am not down with the “Swirl” (As we used to say 20 years ago)… I don’t believe in Brothers chasing crackers anymore than Sisters being with crackers… Love your own beautiful Black People! If you can’t find a beautiful Black Sister, or Strong Handsome Black Brother, KEEP LOOKING!!!

My only question…Is she happy with him ? If yes then by all means carry on. Life is too short to be unhappy. Chasing after what OTHER people deem accpetable for anyone to date. Because at the end of the day NO ONE CARES I TELL YOU NO ON !

Does not mean that they will be together forever but it doesn’t necessarily mean that she can’t date whom she wants. If you were really a fan of her work, you would know that she once played opposite one of the darkest men who graced the movie screen: Wesley Snipes who by the way, made a comment a some yrs back about not dating black women.

She did date Omar Epps but their relationship ended when Nia Long decided she wanted him back—info was given by Sanaa’s own sis who went to my college in Oakland CA.

People can be as passionate as they want about whatever. Even if it may seem racist or whatever to you. Black pride is DEAD, black unity is GONE. Maybe FOREVER. I can’t remember the last time I saw a BLACK female’s profile on BLACK planet that said she was just…BLACK! We hate ourselves so much until we don’t even want to call ourselves black anymore.

Sanaa Lathan is a beautiful black queen and she can do what the hell she wants. But some of us still dream of black folks loving each other again. It’s how you show that you’re ADVANCED and fancy, today, in the black community. Being with other blacks holds down your image, as onlookers (mainly non blacks with money), will only associate you with the stereotyped proletariat, of your own race.
