If you give Prince Harry enough time to speak, he will guaranteed offend SOMEbody. First it was the Jews with his Nazi Halloween costume, then it was South Asians when he called a guy a “Paki,” and now he’s telling black British comic Stephen K Amos, “You don’t sound like a black chap.”

What the hell?

Says UK publication The Sun,

Stephen told The Wright Stuff on TV’s Five yesterday that Harry, 24, congratulated him before saying: “You don’t sound like a black chap.”

As host Matthew Wright looked on stunned, Stephen added: “I wanted to say, ‘How is I supposed to sound?’”

Asked if he thought it was said in jest, Stephen said: “I hope it was.”

Clarence House would only say last night: “We do not comment on allegations about private conversations involving the Royals.”

Being a prince doesn’t give you the right to be an ass. He clearly didn’t learn how to behave appropriately in public during his royal youth.

I hate to hear stupidity especially from so-called educated people. But lets face it black folks ,if we want change we must be the change. we are guilty of the same thing. what do we say about black folks when a black person cant dance ” he dance like a white boy” or when a black person talk differently we say ” he is trying talk white” or he may dress differently ” he is dressing white” lastly his choice of music ” that is white folks music”. Ladies and gentlemen stop your racist ways and that will be start of the stop of stupidity.

Yes, this statement was inexcusable. But, lest we forgt that people are what they are raised to become. I blame his family for not thinking it wasn’t an important enough issue to raise a Prince with some sense of cultural sensitivity.

Everyone is acting as though this statement is something unheard. It is only because those of us that chose to speak with intelligence and without the street swagger, don’t get heard from as much. And when we are heard, we are told we are trying to be…..
I am secure enough in myself, that the statement means nothing to me. It isn’t a racist statement, just a stupid statement. Black people say they to other black people, ALL THE TIME!!!

I have heard this before, i guess he was used to hearing black people speak incorrectly, which i hear all the time. I’m always told i’m not black enough or hood enough because of the way i carry myself and speak. I was taught to speak and act in a respectful manner because it will get you farther in life and that is so true. Its ok to use slang when your with your friends but in the professional world that will have you being laughed at behind and infront of your face. Don’t change who your are as person but at the same time don’t become the typical black sterotype that we are portrayed as in the media. Be above it, be better, be the best you possible… Think on that.
