PASS OR FAIL: Rihanna’s “Rated R” Album Cover

By now, you should have seen Rihanna’s racy single cover for “Russian Roulette.”

Here is the cover for her impending album, ‘Rated R.’ The grainy black-and-white cover was shot by famed photographer Ellen von Unwerth, who says that “Rihanna was looking to create something a bit new for the look of the album.”

Von Unwerth goes on to say that Rihanna is “so beautiful, sweet and tough at the same time — and a pleasure to shoot,” adding that she’s “fantastic to work with — very giving, very creative, very involved in every aspect of the shoot, and ready to push the boundaries.”

The album, which is set to be released on Monday, Nov. 23, is Rihanna’s first album since 2007′s ‘Good Girl Gone Bad.’

It is the same day Lady Gaga’s sophomore effort, “The Fame Monster,” and 50 Cent’s “Before I Self Destruct” will drop.

    Mannnnn I’m feeling you on that one -QueenFisa- LOL that was a good one fo sho. This b***h have truely crossed over to the dark side. You can’t tell me when she first came out she was singing dancing songs with her long hair just a flowing with that innocent face and everything. She was truely wearing on me.     Tried-N-True, thanks for the props :) . Okay ya’ll, this really got me thinking now. I have always like Rihanna and adored her as an artist back during the times that YungAnnaBaby07 described. However, she has made a very apparent change and it doesn’t look like a good one. The more I thought about it I had to go dig up the pic of her face when she was bruised:

    Although I much prefer her “Russian Roulette” single cover, the barb wires was creative. I can’t wait to buy this album! They should release it on Oct 31! lol Why they making us wait so long, before then I bet you the whole album will be leaked! I am in love with her first single, its different and the beat is hot! and the sound effects are trill. Also its a song a lot of ppl can relate to. Life is not all about butterflies and bumblebees so I’m glad an artist stepped forward and slammed this one in our face. I know she wasn’t the first and she sure as hell wont be the last! Ppl don’t care that shes a devil -worshipper they will still buy her music bcuz she is a musician not your mother! Rihanna doesn’t interfere with my relationship with God.
