Its one thing not to judge, another to handle your business even when you make mistakes, but its another thing altogether to blatantly disregard the fact that it takes two people to make a baby and those two should co-rear the child. I am happy for JH. I hope she can find happiness, but that doesn’t change the fact that she has a child by a man to whom she is not married. I feel if he was good enough to father her child, he should be good enough to spend the rest of her life with. Marriage is a societal instrument used to try to ensure a child gets to live with both parents under one income. (oh and it would sure cut down on a lot of STD’s if we would listen).
Someone said marriage should not be taken lightly. . .well parenthood should be taken even more serious than marriage! We should stop being selfish and stop trying to get what we want by any means necessary. In order to ensure professional health care is provided, doctors are required to go to school for many years. I think, in order to produce a complete and whole individual, both parents should be involved simultaneously in that person’s life. It doesn’t always work out that way, but I wouldn’t set out to have a child by anyone unless I thought I wanted to spend the rest of my life with them.
If I can’t make that commitment to a potential mate, then we probably shouldn’t be procreating together, period point blank. When will we learn that yeah if things are broken, we can patch it up and make it work, but could we just try not to break it in the first place. Just because you engage in a behavior does not make it right or ok because you felt like doing it. . .if thats the case, why do we have prisons?

I hope hes not what his nickname implies and that hes MAN enough to make her happy, not walk away, and think about the joy it would bring his special son to have both parents there for him whenever he needs them. More importantly, for Daniel Jr. to see the genuine true love his mother and father share and just what it means to be part of a powerful loving Black family.
