As the summer is coming to an end, I’ve noticed that times have changed. More and more each day, as I flip through several magazines, I can’t help but recognize the fact that many of our women of color have graced their pages with such poise. Along, with their beauty and style, these women bring a whole new level of respect to our generation. They not only offer sheer beauty, but it shines from the inside and out. Not to mention, they are all over 40. We’ve seen Halle Berry at her prime in her forties: she managed to give birth to a beautiful daughter, Nahla, and hile staying on top of her game as an actress she is getting ready for baby number 2. Vivica Fox has proven how much of a cougar she really is by dating rapper/actor Curtis Jackson, also known as 50 cent, not to mention her new series on TV Land entitled The Cougar. Then, we have both, Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey ready to release new albums. Last but not least, our First Lady Michelle Obama setting trends in both fashion and politics. So ask yourself, is 40 really the new 20? I’d have to agree. Simply, yes. Women in their forties are starting to give us girls in our twenties a run for our money. They are definitely a hard act to follow. So if you can’t beat them, why not join them?
