    I don’t care what anyone says, but I blame this dilemma on Bob Johnson..hear me out..In order for these sisters and upcoming sisters and brothers to be accepted, they are going to have to “make a name for themselves” BET was the beginning of this important step. Can you imagine what BET would be right now if it was still under “Black” leadership..Sitcoms, movies, talk shows etc…made by us for us! it would be so powerful now, that these sisters probably wouldn’t need to be trying to break down doors, they would have been building new houses! I understand Bob Johnson had an opportunity to make his money, and he cashed in, but the way we watch TV and support these shows, I believe BET could have been on par with CW or UPN right now, but now its just a Black MTV, displaying the worse side of TV…I can’t remember the last time I have even watched that modern day Amos and Andy network!

    maybe its a coincidence, but BET got bought out right after the bill clinton and oj interviews because they realized there was at least ONE segment of media that would be FAIR to those they wanted to single out and destroy. after that we had ‘oh drama’ and ‘franke and neffe’. but stop waiting on somebody to pick you up. write your own movies and star in them, or get in touch with black movie writers. like me! LOL

    Great video. We all need to become Spike Lee, the Hughes Brothers, and Tyler Perrys. We need to saturate every part of OUR market and stop giving our dollars to people who exclude us. This goes for music, movies, food, clothes and gas…any need/want you can think of that black people need should be catered to by blacks. I agree with momono3 that we have to stop waiting for heroes. Start innovating and thinking like entrepreneurs instead of solely consumers!
