AUDIO: Amerie & Trey Songz Remake “Pretty Brown Eyes”

Amerie & Trey SongzLately, everything that Trey Songz touches turns to gold. With help from Drake, Gucci Mane, and Soulja Boy, the songs “I Need a Girl,” “Successful,” “LOL, Smiley Face,” and “Invented Sex” are all on their way to becoming hits – if they haven’t already. Now, Amerie has recruited the R&B singer to assist on one of the tracks off her upcoming album “In Love & War.” We should all remember the chart-topping single “Pretty Brown Eyes” by the group Mint Condition. It came out in 1991 and reached #3 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs list. Well, Amerie and Trey Songz have joined forces to do their own remake. It’s not exactly the same, but the sampling is heavy and track is hot.

    the song is okay, but i guess since i still play “pretty brown eyes” by mint condition, then the song doesn’t sound that hot to me

    not to sure about this one. there are some songs that should be left well enough alone. Pretty Brown Eyes is a classic and didn’t need a cover or remake make. I guess if it gets enough play it will grow on me. hmmm… sorry it’s determinately a NO from me.

    Come on, now! No one does it better, and will ever do it better than Mint Condition. I am a diehard Mint Condition fan, and that group possesses real talent.
    This song is cute, but it in no way even close to the original….

    I don’t think this tempo suits “P.B.E.” The OG version had a slow jam/mid tempo vibe.
    Trey sounds ok on it but Amerie, ehm, no comment!

    Nothings gonna beat the original version tho, Mint Condition still one of my fave bands, if not the only band left in R’n'B today!!

    MINT CONDITION’S VERSION IS THE TRUTH! SOME SONGS DONT NEED TO BE REMADE. DONT LIKE THE TEMPO BUT ITS OK FOR THE YOUNG PPL.
