As I stated before, the kid is suspect and my uncle had the nerves to say, “I don’t think she would be that low down and say the kid is mine when it is not.” Dude, she got you paying child support when you all have been living together since day one. So needless to say, he declined the paternity test at the court hearing and did not tell the courts he has been with her since conception because he didn’t want her to get into trouble. Child support is a huge topic that should be dicussed everywhere because the child support system is really out to destroy families in my eyes but I do feel as if your going to continue to have children then you should be responsibile for taking care of them. The thing that really gets me is how many black men you see in court behind unpaid child support or orders of child support being issued against them. As a black woman I do feel it is my responsibility as well as any man to prevent the possibility of children being born if they can not be taken care of. Why do we continue to open our legs when we know we can’t support them heck we can barely support ourselves let alone a child. I also want to know why do some women feel it is necessary to place a man on child support when he is supporting his child or children? That sounds as if the woman is being vendictive because either the man has moved on or she just wants to be greedy. If I had a man that was tkaing care of his daughter and spending time with her I would love it and encourage it. Why involve the system into a situation that doesn’t need its involvement. I turned to the child support system because my daughter’s father wouldn’t stand by our agreement. Since he got paid twice a month he was suppose to give me money for her twice a month and he didn’t do it but the only thing now is I feel bad about doing it because all the child support system does is come up with some bogus figure for the man to pay that may even exceed what he brings in and doesn’t really consider what he has to pay in other bills and then this puts him behind in his child support payments creating an even worse situation. This in turn leads to jail time, license being taken, and even the loss of his job do to these things. The system is not designed to help the children it is designed to destroy families and black men. It is really ashame why do you think they pressure so many women who are receiving state assistance to tell them who their father of their children are? i truly have to agree with the people on here. most of the women that press child support are just trying to get back at the man for what ever reason, we know they do. pressing child support is not going to make a man or woman do no more than what they really want to do. but the money you get fron child support does not measure up to your child. and the women that are in these high profile cases make me sick, the support you get is for the child/ren NOT FOR YOU!! i feel if they pay for insurance, clothing, and daycare, or private schooling, the rest is up to your ass, get a job, because the older they get the less you get, and once they turn 18 thats it anyway. then what. i have 5 sisters and when the fathers stepped out the kids life, i thank GOD they had enough sense to further their education and get jobs.

I have to admit that I feel for the brothers and agree that the Child Support System is a failure to the children and a LOT (not all,) of sisters exploit the system for their own personal reasons and/or vendettas. Some complain about a man not being a father because he can’t maintain his financial responsibility and then, these same women will hypocritically deny his RIGHT to see and interact with his children because he has fallen behind on support. What kind of shish is THAT !?! I hear my sisters complain that the father’s girlfriend brought their child a coat, or shoes, or boots and they get hype and will complain, saying things like “We don’t want that heifer’s money” but wouldn’t mind if it was the skin off the father’s back used to cover the child in the winter months. Shoot… any thing that any body is willing to do or give to my child, is a blessing. I can cross it off of my list.
I have two kids from my ex. Believe me, the support is very modest, but I make do. Never have there been an issue of him exercising HIS RIGHT to see or be with his children. Even when I could barely stand the sight of him, those are his kids too. Being once married to my children’s father, I know when he has money and what time of the month he is struggling (but the kids’ money is always there). There have been times when the kids wanted to spend extended time with their father during his “down time” of the month, not only did I take the kids, but I have been known to take groceries or send money to make sure their dad can properly feed them while they are with him. My girlfriends give me so much grief over this, calling the ex “trifling” cause he can’t feed his own kids. That is what CHILD SUPPORT is for and it’s not the business of my kids that I need to share this info with them. Not only that, but we (the ex and I) are co-raising a black male, that positive interaction is a PLUS to teach him what his responsibilities should be as a Black Man. The ex isn’t a bad DAD; he was just a piss-poor husband (lol). It isn’t necessary for me to have my children see their father in a low, degrading situation that he can’t help. Intentionally trying to humiliate their father isn’t necessary. (I’m excluding addicts, alcohol, etc – talking about the average decent brother, who just needs to hit the lottery… really bad, lol)
The system seems to be focus on money (and a few bitter women vindictiveness), not necessarily “support”. Support comes by way of other means besides JUST MONEY.

P.S. – and may I add, that there is NOT a COURT ORDER of Support in my case. Some men do handle their responsibilities

I think it is stupid when a woman places a man on child support for a child he is taking care of financially as well as spending quality time with on a regular basis. The reason being because that child is receiving support from both parents why does the system need to be involved. Many women who are doing these types of things are either being greedy or just trying to be vendictive for what ever reasons necessary. Why involve the system in the business between two consenting adults? Now for those men who are not financially taking responsibility for their child or children should be placed on child support, but I am not going to fault the man for the situation I am going to fault the woman as well. Think about what you are doing before going out here sleeping with any man without a condom and as far as a man who has other children if he isn’t supporting them he won’t support your children either. Child support can destroy families in the sense that it may make some men have to go out and get second jobs in order to make the support payments. This in turn takes away quality time he could be spending with his child or children. If there are other alternatives than I think every individual should definitely try it. I am not putting black men down because not all black men are terrible fathers or not supporting their children. It is just unfortunate that those who are not supporting their children are out shining those who are supporting their children. There are definitely too many single parent homes with no male influence and this goes back to women and men making poor decisions when engaging in sexual activities with one another. Enough is enough everyone should be held accountable for the support of their children.
