1. Super Bowl parties are second only to Thanksgiving…in food consumption. The big game fan’s food of choice? The avocado. Snopes.com estimates that about 8 million pounds of avocados are sold in preparation for Super Bowl Sunday.

2. Forget the countdown. It’s the touchdown that is the top at-home party event of the year. About 7.5 million parties are held on Super Bowl Sunday with 43.9 million party attendees. Having guests over for the big game?

3. It’s an American tradition with global popularity. Football is as American as apple pie so you might be surprised at how popular it is around the world. The big game is broadcast across the globe in 232 countries and territories and in 34 languages.

    I knew all that stuff. Here’s what some of you(including Hello Beautiful Editors) may not know. Doug Williams was the first and up to now, the only black quarter back to start on a winning super bowl team in super bowl XXII. He threw for 4 touchdowns, which is almost unheard of in a Super Bowl. This is even more interesting; he threw all four TD passes in the second quarter of the game. His team the, Washington Redskins, defeated the Denver Broncos 42-10. He was the MVP of course, and I think that’s one of the best Super Bowls in the history of the Super Bowl.
