well this is bullsh1t! Most single women aren’t even doing any of that crap listed. Also, you can have all of that and be married. Why does being single have to be about being selfish and about MONEY? This is a bad message to send. A real individual can be married and have it all, THAT should be the message. I hate this separatist bullcrap propaganda. It’s believing in that crap that keeps black women from being married, then they sit back and complain when they’re 40, about not being married.

Very few people be they single or married properly plan financially for the future. You don’t have to deal with the drama if you make better choices when it comes to who you allow into your life. Some people settle for the sake of having somebody. I personally would rather be by myself than with the wrong person. There are benefits to being single and being married. I think the author was stressing the benefits of enjoying being single and what you should be doing to prepare for marriage.

This is bullshyt at its best..So basically what this is saying is..”Its good to be single so you can save up for marriage”????? GTFOH!! Im with odoggz, this sends a triflin’ azz message that single women should be entirely steeped with getting married. Man…I thought this was going to point out the ‘good points’ of being single…’look younger than your friends” bullshyt…married women tend to feel old..bullshyt…HB must recruit kids from the local high school to write this shyt sometimes…

@ Odoggz, DivaCocoBrown and CaliFemme23… Until about a week ago, I never really paid these forums any attention at all. But after just a few days, the agenda and propaganda are so obvious that it’s disturbing. It’s both blatant and subtle, but propaganda on all levels. You have the ‘Homo Best Friend’ column, where a self-acknowledged immoral, opportunistic, back-stabbing homo proposes to give “advice” on heterosexual relationship advice to women who should run from anybody resembling this type of guy. You have the unreal article proclaiming that “50% of Black Women Have Herpes”, which is so unreal in it’s irresponsibility that a website calling itself Black Planet should be ashamed. Now this “Reasons It’s Great Being Single”… Drama-free??? As was pointed out earlier, drama is more about partner choices than relationships themselves. A guy who is insecure in his manhood and sees every woman as a potential conquest, is a problem whether you marry him or not. The key is choosing a guy who doesn’t have that issue. Prolonged youth??? If you know anything about health, youthfulness is more about diet, stress and lifestyle than anything. I’ve seen plenty of people who eat on the run, party and drink too much, and get little to no exercise. Their youthfulness can be eroded by their mid-20′s. The 3rd point about getting better gifts is too stupid to even rebutt. And in terms of being able to save, tell me what household exists where one income is better than two incomes, with two complimentary brains, and a good savings/investment plan. CaliFemme, I agree with you. The writers that this network employs are sorely lacking in both commen sense and integrity.

@chuckyluv, I think ‘black’ planet is out to ‘get us’. They are slowly but surely succeeding in making us HATE each other. Has anyone ever noticed how NONE of BP’s articles showcase or promote black people getting together? I have browsed through a few ‘white’ websites and they NEVER dog their own..it’s all about bringing the family/home/relationships together….seems ‘fishy’ to me…JMHO

Or articles like, ‘Is Your Mr. Right White?’… I would say “Hmmmm…” but I don’t even have to wonder. It’s more than obvious. Monique’s Open Marriage, Black Women With Herpes, Black Men on the DL, Why Are Black Women Hating On Amber Rose’s Azz… You could search the archives for a LOOOONNNGGG time before you come across a postive, uplifting article. You’re right, you would NEVER see JDate promoting the idea of Jewish women dating Black men. It’s crazy, but true.

@chuckyluv, Well damn! Nice to know it’s not ONLY me that notices this….The last article I recall being about ‘black love’ was a 90 year old couple back on valentine’s day! Are we freakin serious? That was the only way they could think of to bring us together? By showing us a story about a couple that in this day and age none of us are even relative to? And yes, I notice that too! NO OTHER dating site for other races EVER throws up interracial dating site links within. “what black women can learn from the kardashians”…..”The latest video vixen jump-off”…..”So and so tweets about such and such’s divorce and drug habits”…and it goes on and on. For Califemme23, chuckyluv, sylkiiifeather.. hell everyone else who has brung the same argument to HB…(even though its a supposed womens site i like to check in on what women ‘think’ about men) There is PLENTY of news worthy stories about (for PC) Urban lifestyles. A local newspaper would read better than some of these stories and i hate the news/newspaper because it didnt bring ANYTHING positive so i turned to the net (which im starting to really doubt they are very credible THESE surveys are anymore). WHERE do these surveys come from?! 5O%… Years ago that was almost the AIDS statistic between whites and blacks until someone made it creditable that it was much lower. Now someone is saying that its herpes?! Like black women are the only women that DONT take care of themselves. How is it that WE have the lowest (but slowly rising) minority population but we are the most diseased ridden according to somebodys math….
(Almost) every hosptial ive had to venture into i overhear/see more white people having to be there for cancer, something broken, something stuck where it shouldnt be, someone missing an organ/appendage/limbs. MAYBE it could be because they HAVE insurance (i doubt it) but if thats the case… then where are they getting their information from? IF someone doesnt report it because the lack of insurance/clinical coverage… or goes to seek help in any matter how do they know what percentage is accurate to be claimed?

i swear its someone out there trying to sabotage the cogs in our… Urban clockworks so we will wake up late and be late for work or something!!

Its getting harder and harder to find info reliable now… the GOV is trying to change/take the radio away (once this tax law passes for radio stations to pay commercial & royalty taxes and they disappear, its only a matter of time before the XM and Sirius stations start feeling it next for digital distribution) …tired of the news, they only create what they think people want to hear…. im sorry for venting…
