The BET Awards just needs to be previously recorded. They don’t work well with live shows. Foxx had to keep asking ‘are we ready?’ before he introduced speakers and performances. I understand that they wanted to change things around to honor MJ, but they need to do things 100% and not half-ass. They tried doing too much with a short preparation time. Souljah Boy didn’t need to perform, he should’ve been elsewhere ‘gettin moneeeey.’ Now Drake.. ehhh. It turned out to be a Cash Money performance. I don’t think Drake belongs with them. But because of time constraints they cut Alicia Keys & Wyclef from the schedule. There were alot of performances that unfortunately got cut out because of time constraints. SMDH

Drake even tried to look friendly during the performance, as if to make his proximity to the kids during the performance less sexual. I agree with the sentiments of the “responsible” parents and “intelligent” people that all agree that the little girls onstage with them was absolutely rediculous. I mean…who does that?? These artists are young and foolish. Even though they should be held accountable for thier actions, people fail to realize that Deborah Lee, owner of BET is an older woman who oversees everything. She should have thought that maybe their choice of songs was not appropriate for the show, especially after Michael’s passing, which the show was centered around. She should have thought that Mr. Joe Jackson, who was seated front row, and Mr. Don Cornelious and other elders, as well as the many minors in the audience, such as Keke palmer and the young man whom presented an award alongside her, did not need to be exposed to that performance. I am sure that she knew Drake and Weezy’s choice of songs prior to the awards, but allowed this to happen, just as she allows millions of videos that degrade women and blacks in general to run on a regular basis, because she figures that this kind of thing is what young, black America can relate to, and that if this sort of thing does not go on then she will lose ratings. I believe in pointing fingers at the right people, and she should be the one issuing apologies…for a lot of thing, not just this distasteful awards.
