I’m sorry but i find that breastfeeding and driving is very irresponsible. The baby should have been in a child seat in the back of the car, and if you’re child is hungry and you have to breastfeed, pull the car over. So yes she deserves a ticket, and to be arrested, for putting her child at risk.

Yeah, wow, this is pretty nuts. As a mother, I know its important tO keep your baby on a regular feeding schedule etc etc, but this is really crazy. If you MUST feed your child, pull over. Or plan ahead, by pumping or even doing some formula everyday during that time. It’s hard being a mom and sometimes you have to multi-task but she should’ve pulled over. At least hang up the phone. I don’t know aout the jail time since she does have kids but at the same time if she had’ve wrecked…There are some things that just need not be done and this is one of them.

this is crazy. I nursed my daughter and when they are nursed they are demanding. They are so used to getting it on demand, no wait no fuss. She should have pulled over. She was endangering everyone in the car for convenience. That was just nuts. Those other kids would have had to be late for school. I was late for many an appointment because baby wanted to eat after I had her dressed to go. I don’t think she should be jailed but a real nice ticket and some points for being reckless and dumb.

If I had to feed my baby, I would have pumped the milk and fed the baby, or if I was driving, I would have pulled over. Well I understand the need for her to feed her baby…She should have pulled off the side of the road. Plus get her behind off that cellphone if it was that important that she feed her baby. apparently, she was probably already running late. I am a mother and I would not put my child or others at danger for the sake of breastfeeding while driving. I work in a Pediatric Children’s Hospital and we see incidents everyday because folks think that accidents cannot happen to them. Besides, what is she teaching the other children in the backseat? She is a danger to all on the roads and what if she hit someone and injures them perhaps death. There is not a sorry in the world that she could say to the victim’s family. Some parents need a manual for raising children. Sorry to be so unforgiving but you would not believe the accidents we see every year because of negligent parents.

Years ago a friend drove around with his toddler on his lap. He got into an accident and the handle that controls the car’s signal lodged into the baby’s head. The force was enough to puncture the child’s brain causing permanent damage. Try living with that mama. Hang up the phone and drive….if your baby needs attention….pull over and take all the time you want. If you can’t figure that out, you don’t need a child.

I would say yes to this question because I have had to breastfeed while driving. I would refrain from doing both while being on the phone. I undestand her situation because I have 3 small children and at the time they were 1,3, and 5. Yes it was the 1 year old I was feeding while driving back from a long road trip where as my husband was too tired to drive and as soon as I took over, here she goes crying for the breast. I did what I had to do at the time but not while attending to the other children and definitely not on the phone. She was positioned as securely as I could get her and it worked out thank God! I would not recommend it unless it had to be done and you couldn’t pull over.
