Spike Lee has dismissed Tyler Perry’s sitcoms “Meet the Browns” and “House of Payne” as “coonery and buffoonery.” Perry responds to the criticism in a Sunday interview on “60 Minutes.”

“You know, that pisses me off,” Perry tells Byron Pitts. “It really does. Because it’s so insulting. It’s attitudes like that that make Hollywood think that these people do not exist and that’s why there’s no material speaking to them. I would love to read that to my fan base.”

I am gonna watch this on CBS tomorrow in its entirety… One thing to point out in the clip… As black people we know these people exist already, so there is no need to point this out. So for TP to say that in reference to Hollywood it doesn’t matter, because they haven’t never cared about our particular interest anyway, and when it all boils down, this will never result in massive gains on marketing appeal of “White America” I already know what the “nigga’s” gone say “Quit HATIN ON TP” well I aint gone quit… Quarter Of A Billion… Now its time for you to give back to these dummies who laugh so hard, cause aint nuttin funny about a fool who keep laughin at they very own characters, and never learn anything else besides that.

Jazz I know u punished ‘em the NewsOne side… the backlash on this one is gonna be even tougher cause the women will kill for this clown… bang bang *Death to Intelligent*

You may not agree with Spike Lee’s statement but he is definately not a hater. The hater term is used way too f**king loosely. He has absolutely no reason to hate on anyone. He is one of the best to ever do it!

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/momono3/ momono3

does spike think he is the only black man who can do movies? Does he think he can attack others under the guise of a supposed ‘ critique’ that nobody asked him for? Why are his movies always about using your p***s to ‘get a woman in check’ or disgrace her? (She’s gotta have it – School Daze) Spike’s movies are just a bunch of scenes thrown together, in my opinion. And I suppose he has some point to them. But still, as a fellow film writer he should respect what Tyler is doing and just not watch them if he doesn’t like them.

What’s interesting to me is how the comments on this subject show the buffoonery that is being spoken of by Spike Lee. In order for people to make a logical statement willing to be heard by others, there is a certain way to approach the situation.

Now, on to the subject at hand. I love both Spike Lee and Tyler Perry’s movies. I think they’re two talented, young black men with something to say to their people (whether others think the same or not is not my concern). I can see where Spike AND Tyler are coming from. Spike is notorious for his movies on black historical figures and events. That’s why I love his work because I can’t find anyone who creates images as he does. He hates to see, what I hate to see, ignorance. He’s an educator on the literal side. He shows the true meaning of things, that many are just too afraid to do. That’s who he is, and I’m sure he views it that way because of the loud, raucous behavior of Madea, and characters alike. It can bring in the stereotype that we’ve all been hoping to rid ourselves from in life. But I’m not taking one side.

As for Tyler Perry, I also understand why his movies are so popular. LIke he said, his movies and television shows use this “funny” people as bait. I won’t lie. I liked his plays at first, but then I began to stray away because I didn’t like how it portrayed black people, but because the overall stories contain a message, I came back. If anyone notices, (I can’t remember if it’s like this in his plays, because it’s been a while since I’ve watched them), but Madea may come in for a couple of minutes in the beginning, go off scene, come back once in the middle, leave again, and come back at the end. Madea is famous because that’s who a lot of people want to see. I personally wish Madea wasn’t NEEDED for people to watch a movie focusing on the personal issues people face each day, but she is, and other characters.

Long story continued, we, the consumer, have to learn to look at both sides of a story. Spike may dislike Tyler’s movies, and Tyler may dislike Spike’s opinions, but that’s between them. If people learned to look at both sides, this would be such a calmer place. I’m not saying it’s not right to take sides, but it’s not good to become a fool in the process.

I vehemently concur, Poetic_Intellect07. Spike Lee’s problem is personal; he sees the world through rose-colored glasses, and no ones way of depicting African Americans is better than his own. What he lacks is the proper respect for artists in differing genres: Spike writes more along the lines of radical, serious literature; Tyler focuses on the highlights and humor of the race’s issues. I am so upset with Spike Lee for having such a closed mind on this subject. They come from two different worlds anyway! Spike comes from the early Black Panther movement when things were much more touchy for Blacks. Tyler, on the other hand, comes from a more modern version of the Black family where we evolved from ghettos, ass-whoppins, grits, the Electric Slide and family reunions. So, to Spike Lee I say: get over yourself.

i dunno..most of the time tyler perry’s movies are a bit predictable, but they are funny as well..his best movie to me that i have seen, (since i havent seen all of them) is “a family that preys”. and as far as spike lee, lol..he has yet to make a movie that is oscar worthy. both of them are wonderful directors, actors, etc..but i am ready for a black person to come out with movies that make you think, and step a bit outside of the box. till then..i’ll never be blown away.

Spike Lee isnt hating on TP for doing it big, thats how dumbed down people have become

if someone disagrees with a celebrity, they “hating”. that word gets thrown around way too much without rationale, especially with celebrities. people put celebrities on a pedestal an worship them and act like they cant have a difference in opinion.

there are a few TP movies that i like, but i do agree with Spike on this one, most of of TP movies IS coonery films and its the type of material that feeds into the stereotypes of blacks. hollywood dont care about our best interests, they care about making money

and if it involves entertainers like TP making us look like coons to the rest of the world they will do it. maybe, just maybe TP may take his criticisms into consideration

and come out with better material, he might be bytching about it like he is now in this interview but maybe it does have him thinking.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/Red_Clay_Chronicles/ Red_Clay_Chronicles

Personally, I find it funny that most of the people that will respond negatively about Spike’s comment, call him a hater. As previous posters have mentioned, you can actually have a legitimate reason to disagree with what someone does…it’s not hating. Spike Lee’s always been one of the few directors who tries to educate people about Black issues & promotes Black empowerment. He took issue with the portrayal that Mr. Perry’s marketing so heavily, because it’s a giant step backwards, when we as a people were progressing. Also, it’s not like he came out & blasted Mr. Perry for no reason. He was asked a question about the stereotypical images of Blacks in the media, and said that he noticed 2 commercials, for 2 shows, when he watches basketball on TNT. It’s a 5 month old interview…

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/arozendaghetto/ arozendaghetto

Spike Lee spends more time clowning on other Black filmmakers and producers instead of just focusing on his own stuff. I like Spike Lee and I like most of his work… back in the day when I was in high school I used to want to be a filmmaker just like him. However, I can tell from some interviews and panel discussions he’s been on that he has a very thin skin. Like it don’t take much for him to take offense to something and stay offended. Look, if Spike got a problem with the way Blacks are being portrayed on the big screen and small screen then make movies that go against those images. Don’t go around playing 50 getting beefs started, just use the movies you make as a vehicle to start a crusade against the bufoonery and coonery.

So Spike’s been in the industry for a minute. He’s not dead in the industry unless he just want to be. Do like every other seasoned artist does in the industry and reinvent your styles to keep up with the times. Set the standard, put the examples in motion and other rising Black other filmmakers will most likely follow. He should revamp some of his directorial techniques (such as getting rid of that same jazz music playing in the background on every movie, the signature character riding into the camera on every movie, and the independent filmmakers’ habit of shooting one stationary scene in ten different angles for no reason).

Tyler Perry, I like him too. Love Madea no matter how bufoonish or coonlike Spike Lee and others like him call it. Madea’s hilarious. However, outside of Madea I tend to lose interest quick on any other character Tyler Perry plays or to watch any movie/show where Madea is not featured.

Why did I get married, Diary of a Mad Black woman and Daddy’s Little Girls were all great movies. Loved the message Cicely and Maya Angelou conveyed to the youth on the porch in the movie Family Reunion. House of Payne and Meet the Browns… I can only watch them for so long without wanting to throw something at my tv. It’s that Larry, Curly Moe dance the father does all the time and the twirling around the mother does. Meet the Browns, it’s that guy’s high pitch quick talking voice that drives me up a wall afterwhile. Bottomline, I agree with the other posters who said Tyler Perry’s work is predictable. It seems like every movie and every sitcom contains someone who’s a junkie, someone who was sexually molested, someone who’s spouse split then this hunky too-good-to-be-true stallion comes along. It would be nice to throw in some surprise plots or unlikely storylines to keep the fanbase strong because I won’t be surprised if the number of his fans will waver in the next few years because of the same predictable storylines.

If anything, why don’t Spike Lee reach out to Tyler Perry and school him on the things he so badly disagrees with him on? Spike has years and knowledge in the business, why not take up the role as leader and trendsetter instead of spectator and hater? If Tyler Perry refuses the advice then he refuses. At least Spike tried to deal with the issue man to man. Hey, it’s a thought.

tp is profiting off black stereotypes, it is shameful, it is really sad how black women support this clown, no matter how far he sets black people back

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/southerngirl256/ southerngirl256

I am a fan of both Tyler Perry and Spike Lee. I think both take a different approach to issues in the black community. And say what you want most of us have a Madea or a Brown in our family that we love. And it’s some ignorant comments on here such as Tyler is a f****t and so forth now that’s ignorant to jump off the issue and attack his character and his sexuality. That’s his business.

Well I love EVERYTHING that T.Perry does! Spike Lee needs to focus on the message that T.P.’s work conveys instead of just the characters. She T.P,’s work is a Ministry and anyone who isn’t getting that needs to look deeper.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/italianmami37/ italianmami37

oh jesus, why do ppl act like ppl like the ones portrayed in T.P ‘s movies don’t exist? i know plenty of ppl round my way who r just like that, so what? How is that a bad thing? And noone had s**t to say about the way black ppl were portrayed in Good Times..same s**t… Just as we all know black people who aren’t that stereotype like the ones in T.P. movies…All “black” movies don’t have to be so f**kin serious & politically correct & socially conscience all the dam time, come on.. the world is f**ked enough, T.P. tryin to get ppl to laugh & loosen up, don’t nobody wanna be hit with hard, serious issues all the dam time… And yes I consider what Spike Lee is sayin as hate too because I find in so many situations, black ppl tear each other down.. Spike should know how hard it is to get a “black” movie made & supported. & knowing T.P. came from being homeless & getting this far, he should be supportive instead of tearing him down..So what they have different m.o.’s and different cultural views… who cares… But it was ok when Spike fed into EVERY STEREOTYPE OF ALL ETHNICITIES in Do the Right Thing though right??? Fed that stereotype of black ppl in the hood, just like he fed into the stereotype of interracial dating in Jungle Fever…oh please, it ain’t about he mad cuz T.P. feedin stereotypes of black ppl, czu if it is he needs to reexamine his own movies & all the ethnic stereotypes he played out in many of his movies…

How about the word “hater-ation” Eolufemi? Spike,..COME ON BROTHA?!? There is more than enough room in Hollywood for some other African American producers, writers, etc. So why “hate” on TP’s thing? At the end of the day we all know someone (whether in our family or friends) who are similar to any of the “CHARACTERS” on TP’s movies, shows, plays, etc. Its entertaining, uplifting, and most of THOUGHT PROVOKING. So let it be what it is Spike, get off your high horse! Besides MA-MA-MA-MOOOOKY the last flick you made (which I just recently watched on cable) was good, but what if I wanted to see another She’s Gotta Have It flick from you? Or School Daze, Girl 6, Mo Betta,…yadda yadda yadda – just shut up and get back to work!

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/Da_J_Rok/ Da_J_Rok

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/italianmami37/ italianmami37

No the comparison to Good Times was to state not ALL BLACK PEOPLE LIVE IN THE PROJECTS AND ARE STRUGGLIN TO SURVIVE…ALL LOUD & QUICK TEMPERED.. you missed the point, but you usually do with me, but that’s ok.. ain’t noone takin this s**t so seriously that they are tryin to argue back & forth all day…but my other point was his movies are about entertainment, if ppl r offended by the stereotypes it portrays, don’t support his movies, period. His goal is not to socially, politically or spiritually enlighten anyone like Spike does, they each do their thing in different ways… so what…You could make 10 politically correct, racially accurate movies about african americans and there will ALWAYS be ppl who think other… it’s not T.P.’s fault, there r truths in every stereotype, in every race/ethnicity.. if it doesn’t apply (in general, not to u specifically) then keep it movin…

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/Da_J_Rok/ Da_J_Rok

Thanks for pointin that out, which further goes to show why Spike is right… coonery and baffoonery… I don’t know about anyone else but I am tired of laughin at stupid black people, leave that market to stand up. We need a wide scale message in the form of which “television” cant control and “honkeywood” cant dictate… Tyler has a soundstage, which goes back into what I said many blogs ago, he need to allow the less fortunate and empowering idealist to use his facilities, really this topic is so much deeper then him wearing the dress, we talkin the value that he provides on a widescale to us and how he can single handidly, revolutionize the black media. Then it went to television…I gave it a shot and I actually enjoyed one or two of his films.

I think the genre or classification which is black theatre is treading a fine line..

While, we don’t want to make mockeries out of ourselves, we also want more classically trained, and written pieces. Can black theatre not contain singing and dancing or improper grammar?

    Is everything a joke?
I think that Tyler Perry is an okay guy, I mean he did purchase a studio…

Tyler Perry is just an actor like everyone else that made a charater madea that everyone liked and ran with it. Eddie Murphy did it, Martin Lawrence did it but for Tyler Perry to do it because his fans (his living) likes it, he is “gay”. He’s not trying to stereo type black ppl but relate to what they deal with and help. If most black ppl be honest, they have people in their family just like tyler perrys charaters, which u can c them in a positve light or negative light..they exsit. They have flaws but they are real people. Now if you were to bring up Keyshia Coles family in tv, i would 100% agree. But people talk about how some black ppl r making the entire race look like fools but you watch the show, therefore keeping them on air. I guess..ppl r soo judgemental..

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/Thyckness21/ Thyckness21

I don’t comment most of the time but I’m compelled to do so now. If you have a problem with Tyler Perry and his movies and/or sitcoms. . .DO NOT WATCH IT. Simple solution. If Spike Lee doesn’t like what he does. . .WHO CARES? It is not directly changing the course of anyone else’s life. People need to grow up and stop talking about other people and their business and worry about what is going on in their own lives. It pisses me off that so many people have a comment or an opinon on someone else. Are you connected to this person in any way? No but just because you THINK what you say will change something in that situation–you start spewing stupidity in chunks. Putting your two cents in without some type of action is just you being “messy”. Act like an adult.

and thats suppose to mean what…?

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/italianmami37/ italianmami37

Duhhhhhhhhhhhhh, some people just don’t get it, so simple… anyways, Thyckness21, agree with you…And you know what research says about men who vehemently gay bash and claim to be agianst gay people? It stems from their own repressed, homosexual urges, otherwise why would SECURE men care so much what other MEN that they don’t even know do in their own relaionships??? Some men display more homophobic attitudes when repressing homosexual urges that they are either unaware of or deny, and/or are overcompensating for an insecurity about their own masculinity.

A University of Georgia study has shown that psychoanalytic theory holds that homophobia – the fear, anxiety, anger, discomfort and aversion that some ostensibly heterosexual people hold for gay individuals – is the result of repressed homosexual urges that the person is either unaware of or denies. A study appearing in the Journal of Abnormal Psychology, published by the American Psychological Association (APA), provides new empirical evidence that is consistent with that theory.

A Cornell University study has shown that when men are more insecure about their masculinity, they display more homophobic attitudes. Masculine overcompensation explains some attitudes like animosity to homosexuals.

LMAO @ italianmami… “Some men display more homophobic attitudes when repressing homosexual urges that they are either unaware of or deny, and/or are overcompensating for an insecurity about their own masculinity”…….hmmmm……..makes you wonder….

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/italianmami37/ italianmami37

for real sylk, that info actually came from a study i read about online, i just have no tolerance for gay haters, live & let live, i love my gays….ppl r ppl who cares what or who they do in their relationships, too many fake gay haters on here, (meaning some guys r speakin a little tooooooooo strongy against gay men)… like why does it affect you so much??? why do u care so much what some guy you don’t even know is doing??? hmmmmmmmmmm, sounds suspect to me.. oh please, these men on here that claim to hate gay men ain’t nothin but soft, pillow bitin ass homo thugs…stop frontin..be who you are and keep it movin…

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/sylkiifeather/ sylkiifeather

ok, one of my favorite phrases is “homo thug” lmao…too funny. but i sometimes think the same thing…not to say that anyone on here is that way…

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/italianmami37/ italianmami37

Well what I mean by that term is these guys who try to act soooooo hard and gay bash… when they are really gay curious or just plain down low gay, I know this to be true cuz my boys that are “gay” gay, you know flamboyant, and the whole works, tell me stories of how they turn out supposed straight dudes, thugs, dudes who claim to be hard & street.. how those guys approach gay men in straight clubs… which brings me back to pilow bitin “homo thugs”… frontin, but i love my gays, whether they be male or female…

SPIKE lEE MADE HIS MONEY BY USING RACISM. IT SEEMED EVERYTHING IN SPIKES WORLD WAS RACIALLY MOTIVATED, I GOT SO DAMN TIRED OF THAT,HIS MOVIES WERE LONG AND SOMETIMES DEPRESSING. IT’S NICE TO SIT BACK AND BE ABLE TO LAUGH WHILE WATCHING SOMETHING WITH A SERIOUS STORY LINE,I HAPPEN TO LIKE THAT,EVEN THOUGH I’M NOT A VERY BIG FAN OF THE MADEA MOVIES, THEY DO NOT INSULT ME. I WISH HE WOULD RELAX SHUT THE HELL UP AND LET THE NEXT BLACK MAN, TYLER PERRY MAKE HIS THE WAY HE KNOWS HOW!

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/momono3/ momono3

“Pillow-biting thug”?? LOLOLOL! but anyway, trytruluv I agree with you all the way on Spike Lee’s movies, but I also agree that we need more diversity in black theatre. We have Spike serious and Tyler-Wayans Bros funny. Now, I want to see a black horror movie. I want to see doors start flapping and Yaphet Kotto wakes up out of bed with a semi-automatic, blows the door away and curses everybody out. I don’t want a funny movie, I just want to see a horror movie with the way a black cast would handle it.

Black film makers can do so much more than just serious “black life/reality” stuff and comedies that cater to negative stereotypes for cheap, easy laughs(damn, is that all we like, comedy, comedy, comedy?!). While I don’t care for Spike Lee’s politics, I’ll take him over that hack Perry anyday.

Even Spike’s worse is better than crap like “Madea Goes to Jail.”

Years from now, who’ll go down as the most respected film maker of the two. . . .that was rhetorical.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/momono3/ momono3

Tyler Perry is known the world over for serious and comedy films and he need not have to wait around like a puppy begging for a treat, to get his movies out. When you’re as good as he is, you have your own and you don’t have to ask nobody for nothing. It’s like they say “If you don’t have haters, you’re doing something wrong” And Tyler Perry is definitely doing things right.

I sort of agree with both of them in a way, but to each it’s own. They both have their own respective fans, so no one should be thought of negatively because of their own opinion. At the same time, we ALL know that we can not have to much of one thing, and I like that we have variety. It doesn’t matter if it’s a movie by Spike, or Tyler, no matter what their movies relate to all of us in some kind of way. So I say let them do what they do, because when ever you have BLACK PEOPLE, writing, directing, and producing their OWN movies, at the end of the day it’s good for BLACK PEOPLE! SO STOP HATING PEOPLE, AND APPRECIATE WHAT WE HAVE ACCOMPLISHED AS A PEOPLE!

OH MY GOD!!! These comments are so sad on so many levels. No one can hate on us like we can on each other. I thought the subject was Tyler Perry’s work, NOT his sexual preference. Here’s the deal…..if you have not had your rear end packed by Tyler Perry or if you have not packed his then you don’t know what his sexual preference is, Okay? PLEASE, leave that alone because obviously it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the subject or his success. The truth is that there is enough room and audience for both Spike Lee and Tyler Perry. I have enjoyed both of their work. They have entirely different forms and both of them appeal to a certain audience……DUH!!

this is part of the reason why african americans can NEVER BE UNITED…BE TIGHT AS A GROUP!!! SPIKE MAKES THE KIND OF MOVIES THAT HE MAKES WELL AND TYLER MAKES THE KIND OF MOVIES HE MAKES WELL!!! WHY DID SPIKE HAVE TO MAKE THAT COMMENT? WE (AFRICAN AMERICANS) ARE ALWAYS GOING TO BE CRABS IN A BARREL!

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/DrScience/ DrScience

I absolutely concur with Spike Lee on this issue.Tyler Perry’s movie career is ”BUFFOONERY & COONERY” at best overall and that’s real talk and he has only 2 films i liked:I gave ”Daddy’s Little Girls” a solid B grade and i gave ”The Family That Preys” a B- grade. The rest of his films is exactly what Spike Lee said and some of the worst movies of all time and i don’t like ”House of Payne”and i am waiting for the DVD rental of ”I Can Do Bad All By Myself” which is the only film he released that i haven’t seen yet,you feel me?

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/JUST_SHOOTME/ JUST_SHOOTME

I wish people would stop with the “crabs in the bucket theory” it’s so baseless this is not a “black thing”. FYI Hollywood was not created to uplift blacks or designed to see black succeed it only took more than 60 years for another black man to win an Oscar for best Actor. No one is trying to sabotage the Perry, I definitely don’t want to see Tyler Perry fail I’m just not a fan of a lot of his films. With all due respect Mr. Perry you don’t have to “disarm” anyone when teaching about universal things. In order for you to disarm something it must be a threat. Why do you have to disarm when you speak of Love, God, Faith or Forgiveness these topics speak to our HUMANITY why would there be a need to disarm? Why must an articulate well spoken black man who has a story to tell be a threat, why Mr. Perry? You are pretty much feeding into the perception of the lame Hollywood execs who believe that African Americans or blacks will not understand “smart” comedies or smart films for that matter. You are continuing to perpetuate the idea that the you have to dumb things down for blacks in order for them to “get it”. And that is a total insult to me. That is my only criticism to you Mr. Perry. I’m just tired of seeing black men win Oscars for being villains and black man getting block busters $$$ for wearing dresses. I would like to see the black men I grew up around represented, the intelligent, articulate, hard working family men who were dignified. But you can wear all the dresses you want Mr. Perry, more power to you. I will continue to watch Spike Lee films because he doesn’t have to beat me over my head for me to “get it.” I feel that as a film make he understand that I’m smart enough to get the nuances in his films. People’s complacency annoys me to no end. Some would just be content with scraps off the table and others just demand the best!

I find it shocking that there would be anything said about Tyler Perry before there was anything said about New York. There are plenty of lessons to be learned in his films rather if anyone likes them or not. I have watched the VH1 Show I love New York and that makes not only Black women But Women in General look bad. I will stand behind a woman who stands for what she believes in, and I respect a woman with tact, but when it came to blood oaths with I Love New York, and other silly things that really makes people look bad. Why haven’t Spike Lee gone after any of these people. Mr. Lee I respect you and your movies, but let’s get the real trouble makers.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/Candyboxxx/ Candyboxxx

I think most people have enough sense to know that Tyler Perry’s movies are not representative of all black people, and whether it’s coonery is debatable. I am not a fan of Perry, but I think that Spike Lee should continue to make his films; there is enough room for all types of black genre, if people work on making it so.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/mareah32/ mareah32

Excuse me but I had to comment on this one. Spike Lee is hating on the fact that Tyler Perry accomplished what he didnt A BILLION DOLLAR EMPIRE….so see it for what is is….JEALOUSY!! So Do The Right Thing…..She’s Gotta Have It….School Daze…. didn’t reveal negative stereotypes? Did Spike watch his own movies? They were boring…badly written and half the time I couldn’t wait til his crap ended….I’m sorry but we can laught at our ourselves in any form…when we can produce our own…distribute our own…..direct our own….manage our own….pay our own….build our own….get the point Spike?

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/Lahdeia/ Lahdeia

Most people like movies with characters they can relate to. Now I know not everyone Knows a person that acts like Madea, or Brown for that matter. It all has to do with a person’s taste, not going to see a movie simply because it’s coonery? These are the same folk who sterotype everything they see. Wake up. If you don’t like a certian type of movie, or show don’t watch. I respect both men for what they do, but I do feel Mr Lee is wrong. Not all of his movies were that good, but that is only my opinion.

  • http://www.blackplanet.com/Dartagnan68/ Dartagnan68

Anyone with half a brain knows that Spike’s days have come and gone and he’s now being a HATER! Spike HATES the fact that there’s a new Sheriff in town that has the Black Audience now that he used to have… All true soulfull families whatever race have a Madea (known as Big Mama) and a drunk shiznit talking uncle. So how can Spike call these characters stereo typical when so many can relate to them on a day to day basis? Maybe Spike cant relate cause he’s kind of weird anyway… At any rate instead of hating Spike should be passing the torch and congratulating Tyler… Yeah right huh? We’ve had BLACK ON BLACK hating on one of the HIGHEST LEVELS haven’t we? Mr. Jesse (Pay yo’ child support) Jackson! Mr. Keep Hope Alive himself who incidentally marched side by side with Dr. Martin Luther King, was HATING on OBAMA. That’s a damn shame at the highest level… Jesse your tears didn’t move me at all you’re just ANOTHER HATER right along with SPIKE! Sadly you both speak on issues regarding Black wellness, yet you HATE ON YOUR OWN! As for me I’m a proud 42 year old Black Man and the both of you are a disgrace and part of the problem why we as a BLACK RACE will never prosper and NO a Black President isn’t enough… Sadly Obama is a pawn in the white mans game, you’ll see… (Yes, I still stand by voting for Obama)
