Weelll, I don’t know. When Mary J. first came out she couldn’t stay on key whether she sang a cappella or with a band w/ back up singers. Beyonce either. I used to just cringe, y’know, willing them to get better. But bot of them got vocal coaches and just sang their tails off nd the rest is history. Mary J. sometimes sounds slightly off still, but at least now she sounds as though its on purpose, that she means to sing it the way she does, before she had no control. This kid gotta long way to go. I wouldn’t advise her to try American Idol anytime soon, between Simon and Randy she’d get hammered. But, you know what, if she wants to sing for herself, because it gives her pleasure, more power to her, I just reserve the right to buy and listen to the music of artists I enjoy…..
