Thanks for keeping it real. So many people stand back and think that just because a person has a title or status that the person isn’t human. We are all just people with up and downs and feelings. Nobody is exempt from trials and tribulations of life. I am just glad that she is real and not afraid to share. So many females have been through something similar but didn’t want to or know how to tell someone.

Why is it always our Black Women that have something negative say about any and every damn thing.

The woman is telling of her struggle and how she is coping with it through out her lifetime.

But noooooooooo you always got some bitter ass woman, being negative about the situations of others and putting your foot on their neck to try to make it even worse.

So what if she is a lesbian (I am not by the way) it that doesn’t make what she experienced in life any better or take it away. She expresses the fact that she was so traumatized that it put her in the position that she does not want another man touching her and you got people like Juhahaa or whatever the name is talking about “I myself am such a victim and (like myself) overcame it through courage and faith and now have healthy heterosexual relationships and not lesbian ones. I found out she liked girls I lost respect for her as a person”

Well guess what ma’am, everybody doesn’t deal with or cope with issues the same as you. You don’t know how she feels or of what magnitude of pain this woman felt at that time and has been feeling all of her life.

You been feeling her and loving her since the 80′s but as soon as you find out she loves women as her sexual partner, you kick her to the curb with a low blow of “I lost respect for her as a person” ….PLEASE

Da “Queen” has been doing da damn thing since da 80′s, no matter wut trials and tribulation she has gone thru or going thru she’ll always be a Queen. As far as her childhood abuse I think no child should ever have to go thru such an awful thing as such. Queen Latifah isn’t the only one that has endured such trauma and suppressed it. Many sick men have violated many a great woman during her youth; I myself am such a victim. Still those women (like myself) overcame it through courage and faith and now have healthy heterosexual relationships and not lesbian ones. Let’s face it just because there was one sick man in one’s life doesn’t mean all men are sick but a woman with a woman (or a man with a man) is not only gross but a sin (no matter how people try to sugar coat it).

I loved Latifah as a rapper and an actress; she showed she was an empowered Black woman who was in control of her own destiny and stood as an inspiration to many. Once I found out she liked girls I lost respect for her as a person but not as a positive icon of the beauty of inner strength.

When i was a boy my grandfather tryed to penetrate me. I was asleep and it woke me up. I asked him what was he doing. He did not respond to me. I told my mom and she got me a roll out bed to sleep in. Nothing was every said again. But the family knew about it and i got teased about it by my cousin. For years i wonder about it to understand sex. As i grew older i decided to date women not men. I made some mistake. But that is okay i think. I am the father of 2 boys and they like girl. I do not understand this sexual drive that people have that they can do things like this to kids. I do hope you relief Queen. God bless you.
