Well I went through the same thing as a child and it was a family member but I like men. It is always better to talk about because I just spoke with a counselor this year and it helped me.

I was raped as a teenager, and it does cause issues with commitment. For years I never wanted to have sex with men, but I am not gay it was just hard trying to deal with trust and put the pain aside. I understand how she feels.

I have to say that I don’t feel being molested or abused is a major factor in a person being gay or bisexual but I concede it plays a part in some situations. Many people are this way and had a perfectly normal, nonabusive childhood. Secondly I do feel that a child has a hard time dealing with trauma, and expressing themself. I applaud her for finally finding the courage to speak out. Maybe in finding her voice to speak out against her abuser she will finally heal and be able to have a healthy, trusting relationship with someone (man or woman) and let someone get close. Just because this person violated your body and your trust does not mean all men or people out there are like that. I knew it. I’ve met and talked to a few lesbians and for the most part their case is pretty much the same across the board. With the exception of a few other things most of them tell me that some guy or guys in their past did them wrong so they decided to try it or, like in Latifahs case they were molested as a child. Not another one of these stories.” I feel that this issue should be addressed instead of simply being viewed as taboo or as that “deep family secret.” Most VICTIMS, girl and boys are afraid to come foward out of fear or being blamed. Three years ago, a close friend of mine told me she had been sexually abused at 13 by a man in his 30′s, her stepfather. The only person who knew was her mother and you guessed it; she did not believe her. Unfortunately, two years ago her daughter was also a victim of sexual abuse. It’s a cycle which needs to be broken. The silence needs to be broken. Bravo to Queen Latifah for having the courage to share her story.

When i was a boy my grandfather tryed to penetrate me. I was asleep and it woke me up. I asked him what was he doing. He did not respond to me. I told my mom and she got me a roll out bed to sleep in. Nothing was every said again. But the family knew about it and i got teased about it by my cousin. For years i wonder about it to understand sex. As i grew older i decided to date women not men. I made some mistake. But that is okay i think. I am the father of 2 boys and they like girl.
