Legendary singer Natalie Cole underwent a kidney transplant on Monday.
According to people.com, a rep for the singer says the 59-year-old music icon is resting comfortably following her surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
“The kidney came from a deceased organ donor through the regional organ procurement agency, One Legacy,” her rep said in a statement.
Cole, who has undergone kidney dialysis three times a week since September, is expected to spend the next three to four months recuperating.
