Kimora To Be A Judge On Top Model

We just learned that Kimora Lee Simmons has signed on to be a judge next season on Tyra’s “America’s Next Top Model.”

According to on-set sources, Tyra Banks’ CW beauty contest (which is experiencing the lowest ratings of its 13 seasons) will get a helping hand from none other than Banks’ on-again, off-again frenemy, Kimora Lee Simmons, who Tyra has recruited to serve as a judge next season.

This won’t be Kimora’s first foray sharing the small screen with her on-again/off-again bestie — she formerly appeared as a judge on the first season of Top Model, alongside ex-supermodel Janice Dickinson.

Kimora, who will fill the seat occupied by celebrity guest judges like Kim Kardashian, Chanel Iman and Jessica White, won’t be the only Type A personality on the bench: Word is that fan favorite J. Alexander is getting bounced back to his original role as runway coach and will be replaced by Vogue editor at large Andre Leon Talley.

    I used to think Kimora was absolutely beautiful. I remember the first time that I saw her strut down the catwalk. I was a pre-teen and could really relate to her youthful beauty. However, she is not aging well. She hardly looks like the same woman. I have had the opportunity to see — and talk– with Kimora on many occasions. Up close-and-personal (even with the professional make-up) she is definitely losing all of her beauty.

    As far as her joining Tyra on the ANTM show, I think that it’s a grand idea. The other Super Models who Tyra co-judge the show (i.e., Janet Dickerson, Paulina and Twiggy) all left the show, spewing venom about Tyra. Nobody had anything good to say about Tyra. At least with Kimora being Tyra’s best friend, she has a chance of reducing the bad press about her lack of professionalism and tirades.

    Tyra, Kimora and ANTM are all fading entities… It should be very interesting to see what the rating will do with these two teaming up. (Andre Lee Talley will make an extraordianry addition to the show, and I will watch at least one episode to see what his fashionista expertise adds to the show).
