Janet To Open AMA’s With 8-Min. Performance

Janet Jackson is set to take the stage at the American Music Awards on November 22nd. According to the LA Times, the performance, will air live from the Nokia Theatre in New York City and Ms. Jackson will be opening the show with a special 8-minute medley!

Speaking on Janet’s performance, American Music Award producer Larry Klein said:

“We’re thrilled about having Janet Jackson open this year’s show. She is an incredibly dynamic performer, and I think the audience will be excited to see what she has in store.”

Janet gave a dance overview of her brother Michael’s career at the recent MTV VMAs

    Woo-hoo Can’t wait, she’s an amazing performer. I think it’s fantastic that she is performing at all these award shows unlike before. The world needs to be reminded that Janet holds the crown for best performer (aside from Bey) so we need to see great moments like this before her time comes too. Love Janet!

    Janet is the best. Period. These performers nowaday, need, should, and MUST pay homage! Anyone can put on leotards, and have a big fan to exaggerate ones appearance, but to dance, sing, act, write, battle depression, weight gain/weight loss, lose your brother, breakup with your boyfriend of 7 years, 2 secret marriages, not to mention the 2004 superbowl and the Dr. Murray trial only to keep touring, keep singing, be humble, have a new boo, writing songs, acting, AND remember her brother respectively…..I’d say she is an ICON! She goes through trials & tribulations and still she stands. Mary J.Blige is another who walked through the fire unscathed!
