After years of shaking those hips, Prince is in need of double hip surgery.

According to eurweb.com, entertainment columnist Roger Friedman is reporting that Prince now has two bad hips and is in desperate need of double hip replacement, yet continues to refuse surgery based on religious grounds.

News of Prince needing a hip replacement first surfaced in 2005. Prince who is a Jehovah’s Witness, does not believe in blood transfusions, according to Friedman.

Purple Rain’s 25th anniversary.

The singer recently made an appearance at the Apollo Theater’s 75th anniversary celebration to toast legendary singer Patti LaBelle.  Apparently Prince was  walking around in a lot of pain and popping pain killers hoping it will all go away.

Prince is not a Jehovah’s Witness(not baptized) although he is studying the bible. He does not need a blood transplant for hip surgery. The bible forbids taking in other people’s/animals blood so that is probably why he refused a blood transplant. You don’t think in all these years of medical advancement they have not come up with an alternative to using somebody else’s nasty donated blood for a transfusion??? They do and the hospital and your insurance company don’t want to pay for it. That’s why they push donated blood on you, but there are alternatives. Please don’t be ignorant on here and bad mouth J W’s, my grandmother is one and if you have any ?’s just ask. Also, for the the record Michael Jackson, his siblings, and his father were never J W’s.

I thought I read somewhere that he has been baptized and is a full member of the Witnesses. Regardless,it is his right to refuse blood transfusions. Ayari is right;with today’s advances in medicine they are many alternatives. My sister is a Witness;she was in the hospital some time ago,and insisted on being transferred to another facility out of state that specializes in blood transfusion alternatives.

His religion does not forbid hip replacements because I am a Jehovah’s Witness and so is the rest of my family. My brother had to have two hip replacements and the surgeon did not use blood so the religion do not have anything to do with it. It maybe that Prince do not want to have surgery but don’t blame it on the religion. We do not accept blood because of the scripture mentioned at Acts 15:29 to abstain from blood. Prince may not be a Jehovah’s Witness but one of Jehovah’s Witnesses may be studying the Bible with him unless he has gotten baptized but if he is I am happy for him. Alot of people bad mouth JW because they go by the lies that people tell them like for instance they say we are brainwashed but I’ve been a JW for 16 years and I am happy to be one. If you have questions about anything concerning Jehovah’s Witness don’t go by what people say because they don’t speak the truth about Jehovah’s Witnessess but if you want to know more just simply ask one ofJehovah’s Witnesses and they will explain our beliefs by using God’s Word the Bible. So don’t blame it on the religion; it is up to the individual whether they want to have surgery but the surgery must be a bloodless surgery and believe me it can be done.
