Well i think Gabrielle is a very beautiful black woman. However i dont agree that black women should be looking to someone else to say that they are beautiful. She should ask her father to teach her neice about inner-strenght instead of trying to “pump up” her self-esteem. Katt Williams called it…….how someone else gonna determine how you feel about yourself? It starts inside of you. You can be the most gorgeous woman to every single person in the entire world, but if you look in the mirror and see a dogs face there is a problem on the inside.

She has a point there about teen ansgt and insecurities, but I wish she had lightened up on “the light-skinned girls.”

Black people ,some Blacks, really keep to get off that which is a figment of their imagination.
I wish she would have said and the “light-skinned girls”wanted to be darker and the White girls all want blond hair and blue eyes, and the boys all want to be big-muscle types,and on and on.It , self-satisfaction,does not end in the teens years for some teens.
Some teens go through this. Some don’t. Some adults stay this way all their lives.

HUH? Last time I checked, Gabrielle is a beautiful woman that a lot of woman would trade numerous things to look and be like. She does have interesting points though because it seems like a person is never completely satisfy with themselves. As long as there is a world with people that are the complete opposites of each other, one can always find themselves lacking in some areas of their life and self-worth is decreased; unless you have “that friend” that she is talking about, the friend that will slap you into submission of knowing that you are the s hit and you shouldn’t believe anything apart from just that.

Girl there is nothing wrong with u…but thanks for sharing because a lot of us women go through this and the darker shade of women tend to think the same way about light skinned females but when all need to get over that white ppl started that we should not divided us by shades black is black and all color is beautiful…. I wish everybody could see that but hate has became a disease that a lot of us carry and we need to cure that real fast… Who is nebody to say what beautiful is…. It is put in our heads… And we should see everyone as beautiful… Its funny to see us as the only species that is capable of wiping out our own.. Due to beliefs race and so on….smh
