Explains why she is a toothpick now

I saw the show and I’m proud of her for speaking out about her past the way she did. I could tell it was really difficult. It takes a lot of courage to do that. It’s like sharing a piece of yourself with the world to help someone else knowing that people would still make fun of her or think that she had other motives for doing it. God bless

I thought it was extremely courageous of her to decide to share her story. Coping with and overcoming and eating disorder is a painful experience. Kudos to her for realizing that by sharing her story she can help others in the same situation. And to “mesearching..” those are the exact comments that berate women in the first place. Shes not a toothpick, she is the size she was meant to be. Personally I think Rosci is beautiful and her size suits her.

this just goes to show you that, no matter the size of a person, they still do through something on the inside. It’s sad that some people, have to harm their bodies to be a certain styles. As far as women are concerned. Me as an African American Man, i think we need to do a better job of treating our women, no matter what size they are, because at the end of the day, they are the one’s that carry our children. Your attitude determines your altitude and you should not have to convince yourself that you have to be skinny to make it because if i’m not mistaken Oprah Winfrey, Monique, Jill Scott, Aretha Franklin and many more are beautiful black sistas who made it quite well in this life and are not skinny but have such beautiful attitudes that they let their persona make them through. See Rocsi and some others are convincing themselves that they need to be skinny basing life on MTV and thats bulls**t….People will love you as well as media when your aora is just glowing and you thank god for every day by just being the best you that you can be and by the end of the day if thats not enough then the hell with any company or business that judges you by a look.

Queen Latifah has been embraced by many for YEARS and it seems like she has capitalized off of it. Sista is beautiful and Revlon has her face all the place. Furthermore you have Jennifer Hudson and Jazzmine Sullivan who are wearing their curves well. In all actuality, these women represent the “average” woman…not these stick figures wearing a size 0.

brave of her to share her story.. that took guts .. but at the same time why do people continue to feed off of what other people think or want to see? Just be your self and for all i care… f**k the industry ! Half of the people in it made it there just off of their looks without talent or by who they know. Be confident about your self no matter what any one has to say about you. Your not the only one that has had bad things said about them but its all up to you to let them make your or break you or you can choose to be your self and aim for success in what ever you do no matter how you look.

Awwwww. Poor baby!!! I’m so proud of her for being strong enough to share her battles with us and allow us to go along for the ride through all of her struggles and improvements. I like the fact that she talked about this on a show where the audience is mainly a younger crowd. The fact that BET allowed her that oppotunity is so wonderful. I looooove the fact that she mention that she had always thought it was a ‘white people syndrome’ because that is oh too true!!! I’m not really big on making judgements on the way people look, dress, act, or talk but Rocsi brought a up a very good point. I am a big girl and although i dont tend to talk about people i dont know, whenever i see a skinny girl i think that she is lucky and that she was blessed to not have to deal with the struggles i do day to day.

But…as she pointed out…i can say that i never thought that they were not born that way naturally or that they may be harming themselves trying to be that way. I know that i should be confident in myself and everything I do, but it gets so hard to when everywhere you turn left and right, on advertisments, music videos, tv shows, commercials…all i ever see are light skinned skinny long haired girls. no one looks like ME. Well not unless they’re being made a joke of or used to prove a point. We dont all look alike and i can say that I dont feel like i have enough to give sometimes because i dont have an apple bottom, I’m not thick in ALL THE RIGHT PLACES, and im not promiscuous. People dont see the inner part of you until they take the time to see it, but the sad part, is that people allow their judements to make decisions of the heart. i mean at what point did you think you were fat. i look at you now, and i think your beautiful not just on the outside but from what i see you seem like a really sweet person on the inside. like a couple of other people stated your personality is what defines you, thats whats important. how you treat others is how you should be treated and judged in return. i wouldnt use monique as an example because although she is beautiful, and funney she is mean towards slim, or thin people which is not nice because fact is slim people are trying to gain weight which is so much harder than losing. i know this for a fact because i have a slim figure and i have been trying to gain weight it just seems impossible. anyhow jennifer hudson, she is a beautiful big boned women and she has made it to the top weight and all, and queen latifah is the sh*t so my message to you is just be happy with who you are god made us the way he thought fit. no one person is meant to be the same. if everyone was the same the world would be boring, there would be no beauty because there would be no varity. kids and people can be mean so what, that reflexs more on them as a person not you. so hold your head up high no matter what people say in regards to your weight, your ears, your feet, cloths whatever. dont be afraid to wear your hair up in fear of what other people can or will say, if thats what you want to wear. this goes out to everyone who fears, life is too short to worry about what other people think so just live your life.

Hey Rosci, I understand what your’e going threw, I’m glad that you came forward about you being anorexic to let young women know what their doing to their bodies is wrong, that they could get help. We need young women like you to be strong and to understand each other.

Yeah Rocsi, I know that was hard but thanks for sharing, that is so important, I know you helped alot of ladies out there including me, I wqas just about to go on one of my starvation diets to slim down for my birthday coming up, but instead I am just gonna focus on eating healthy and getting proper excercise. We gotta just focus on health, instead of looks and what other dumb judgemental fools got to say!!! GOD made us a variety of shapes and sizes if we all looked the same that would be messed up, we got to love ourselves and be healthy that’s whats up!!!

I dont like Rosci, BUT, I give her props for telling her story on t.v. , knowing that she would be judged and people would talk about her. That is a serious issue that alot of black people dont like to talk about, but all these ‘white people’ issues that we think cant touch us, “Aneroxia, buliema, suicide, schyzophrenia, ext.” are very real in our community. I really, really, REALLY, have to show some respect for Rosci for coming out like that. That was a major step on her part. Does this mean that I am a avid 106& Park fan again, HELL NAW, but do I repesct her a little bit more now, sure Do. She did a good thing by sharing her story because alot of little girls look up to her. Especially Hispanic girls. And seeing a succesful one overcome a struggle will inspire them.
