Same here, since I went natural, a different type of man has tried to approach me. They are usually more polite, refined and have manners. My friends are surprised that my hair is so soft. Upkeep is so much easier and less time consuming. All I do is keep my hair moisturized and go. My hair is longer natural than it ever was permed. Black women look so much better with natural hair, then torturing their heads to have hair like Caucasians.

Well, it must be me since my hair has been natural the guys are no different than before who want to get to know me. They have all men typical dogs or dog tendencies. I still love my natural hair. I need to get out more that’s one of things I guess would help me meet the kind of men my fellow natural hair sisters who commented before spoke of maybe.

We don’t mind when a woman wears a weave or extensions, but we do prefer a more natural look. When my ex used to wear this wild long weave, I hated when it got all over the bed and all on the carpet. That stuff is hard to clean up >=(

what a bunch of bs ladies, *Positively speaking*you don’t attract a different man with your hairstyle. Personally I change my hair depending on my mood whether that be natural or not because thats just me . I have learned that men(not dogs) seem to notice you when you are humbly digging yourself or ” rockin it” whatever the style (hair etc.), because of your energy and self confidence. Be yourself ladies, what ever that may be. Natural or not. I am all for natural hair so this is not a dis and as a hair stylist i really should not say this but its just hair! :)

I love my natural hair. I disagree, you do attract a certain type of man. Whether is someone old enough to be your grandfather (you remind me of my prom date/highschool sweetheart; I think its the afro puff) or a true man that appreciates the real (natural) beauty in women. Yes, you do tend to run into men that are more polite etc etc. There are alot of stereotypes about ppl with locs/natural hair-do’s; ppl tend to think we are militant, gypsy, spiritual, earthworms etc. I have heard many different things. I have even had friends ask why did I go natural and don’t I miss my relaxer? HELL NAW!! This may seem crazy but there are two things that make me appreciate my natural hair the most. (1) I’m coming out of the grocery store and its raining, all of the relaxer ladies are “oh my God” running for cover and back into the store for extra grocery bags to put oer their relaxed do. I LOL and push my buggy on out into the rain. The only thing that will happen is my hair will curl up more. (2) When I shower, its not a big deal if the edges of my hair get wet or any part of my hair LOL shower for 2 is so much more fun when you are not worried about getting your hair wet :-) I LOVE MY NATURAL HAIR! I love to see the beautiful locs on others and the different ways they express their natural selves! Before I hit send, I was reading some of the other comments again, Its not just hair, its I am not my hair.LOL Funny thing, alot of stylist pass me their card and I say oh do you do natural hair….yes, but its not a confident yes, I’m like I’m good, not looking to relax. BTW- I’m in the ATL, the $ I’ve spent going to “natural hair salons/ beauticians that do natural hair” I will say this, the Dominicans (my ppl from NY told me for years) are the only ones that have gotten my thick natural tight curly hair BONE STR8 like a fresh relaxer! And Big up to Soda Salon for coloring my hair. I know this post is all over the place, but I keep going back reading LOL I guess its the good/bad of natural hair. You have to do your homework because everybody aint able to help maintain natural and locs. I’ve found my best ppl by word of mouth.
