this is so embarrasing , everyone all over the world thinks that all our families are disfunctional. whats sad is so many black men have left their family and many black women try to get pregnant by any one with money. its so twisted that kids cant have a damn father in their house like other families. I know whats going to happen, you are going to get messages from black men saying this isnt true and we are all fathers but we have to admit that this baby mama and father house humping game is ingrained in our culture.

Yes “deshawn” it is ingrained in a black family home in “America”. and what…does it have to remain like that?does that make it right?why are most of the brothas like that in America?why not remain in the house and be a father to your children and a husband to your wife other than just a baby daddy who offers money once in a while (when he actually has it and isnt locked up) that is, if he has become gay on us black sistas.This is why I do not date black men in America.And sistas why do you continue to lower your expectations and procreate in exchange for money and the so called good life.work sweatheart,good things do not come easy.

and no black females are not saints.such self hatred coming from both the sistas and the brothas.blacks in America are the most disconnected,dysfunctional and un-collaborative people on earth and I pray for family growth and to one day unite as a people.yes it did originate from slavery but there is a time in a man’s life when you say “enough is enough” and take action.put an end to this so-called engrained and instilled absurdity. Once we love ourselves and consider our history before acting…once we consider our family before doing…once we consider the genuine love and acceptance for ourselves and eachother…than will mericals begin to have its way upon us.

there is way too much doing without first thinking of the long-term effects.why not consider all of what our ancestors had gone through (durring their time on earth) when making decisions that will eventually effect you and your very close loved ones.Black people,we didnt get to this point easy with freedom and opportunities!we need more black Americans,primarily the men taking charge and setting better examples for the youth.Lets stop making excuses upon excuses! it seems like black americans need to get it together bc this mess just isnt cute anymore…its a bad look and I pray for those who fit in that category.God bless black Americans!

I agree with you but lets not think this phenomenon is relagated only to African Americans. its the same situation in the carribean and africa to a much more damaging degree due to the poverty rates in those areas which far surpass the areas in the states.
i never play the blame game and try to associate this type of living to slavery due to the fact that in the 50′s we had over 60 percent if not more black households with both parents, so between there and now there can only be a couple reason why, drugs, public assitance, crime and lack of opportunities.public assitance was the worse because there is no need for a father when the government was giving out checks for every baby back then.

no i can not speak for every black man but i can say every race has there line of drama nothings perfect so those of you seeking perfection in an imperfect world you will in deed find in time that there is no perfect person and there never will be. But i do not believe that every black man is the same just as good things in the world aren’t spoken of it’s the same with this. The good black men in the world that do stay at home and take of there kids wife and family are the ones you don’t hear about y? because there not in court for anything but the bad is always shined upon. So for any of you who believe all black men are disrupted is wrong there is going to be bad in the world and good in the world. no it isn’t a good thing that black men take pride in running the streets an black women are just searching for support but not all are the same an not all are running the streets nor looking for support. there are some great black men out there and black women. If you believe everything happens for a reason then everything taking place today is taking place for a reason we can only do right by our selves. We all have to face our selves in the mirror at some point we can’t speak on anyone until we fix our selves first.

To Jimiealsmith: This “line of drama” as you so casually put it when describing the wholesale abandonment of our children by nmillions of fathers in this country is the Primary reason why many children of color have extensive criminal rap sheets before the age of 21, have no respect or value for women (except as a sexual toy to be tossed aside for the next new girl…just like daddy did to mommy) nor care about creating strong, positive foundations for their lives and their own family units. Most dont graduate high school, speak in “Ebonics” (the perfect way to get shut out of an Executive Level position or a promotion), and call “rappers/&gangsters/&gangbangers/&hustlers” and “pimps/and drug dealers” their so-called “Role Models”,having have a general philosophy of “F**k These Ho’s…” and all that other ignorant, uneducated nonsense. And where is Daddy while his child is being drawn into the streets? Doing their own thing, off buying new apt/cars/clothes/jewelry/fresh haircuts/clubbing, drinking/drugging/hustling/chasing new p***y…AND YET SOMEHOW, THESE GRIMY FATHERS NEVER HAVE THE TIME TO INVEST IN FULLY RAISING THE CHILDREN THEY LEFT BEHIND. Swizz & Alicia are but an asterisk to this story…the true scope of this tragedy extends far beyond that one pair…This tragic mess is unfolding all across our country, at epidemic levels…like a virus, a cancer tearing apart our cities, our communities, our neighborhoods, and most important, our own families…the very core of ourselves. Why make children and then allow them to grow up without their fathers guidance, protection, insight and love to direct them into being responsible, respectful, knowledgeable, positive young adults? Because most of the dads that disappear, or drop in and out of their childrens lives, have absolutely no LOYALTY to the very family that they have created. Their loyalty is reserved for their “Boys” and themselves….and are usually so self-centered, so emotionally shut off from the family unit they made so VERY CASUALLY, and so distant from the children they have created, heedlessly chasing their own fantasies and lifestyles no matter what the cost, that they simply dont care. They focus entirely on what will make themselves happy and free of responsibility, and completely disregard their childs well-being, happiness, stability and need for constant guidance. Its all about “Yo, I gotta do Me…” and all that other bulls**t. As for your point about “Why dont you hear about the good black men that stay home and raise their families” that shows just how distant from reality you in particular, and most men in general have become about this issue of child abandonment…MEN WHO TAKE CARE OF THEIR FAMILIES DONT GET “RECOGNITION” BECAUSE THAT IS THEIR JOB, AS A PARENT, AND PARENTS DONT RECIEVE RECOGNITION FOR TAKING CARE OF THEIR OWN CHILDREN…F**KING MILLIONS OF WOMEN TAKE CARE OF THEIR FAMILIES EVERY SINGLE DAY, WITH AND WITHOUT DAD AROUND…AND DONT GET A DROP OF RECOGNITION, NOTICE OR EVEN RESPECT FOR DOING IT, NOR DO WE ASK FOR ANY…BECAUSE IT IS OUR JOB TO RAISE OUR OWN…WHAT DO YOU THINK, BLACK MEN SHOULD GET A MEDAL AND A STANDING OVATION FOR TAKING CARE OF THE CHILDREN THEY MAKE?
