Over the past few days, celebrities and socialites alike have been speaking out about Kanye and his random outburst at the VMAs. From Pink to Kelly Rowland to Donald Trump, celebrities are trying to burn Kanye at the stake.

Yet where were all the same people, with their strong-willed voices, where were they when people that matter, people who have the ability to dictate our lives and control the free world,  have venomous outbursts of their own, and break rules set in place for the sake of respect and diplomacy.

Last Wednesday, while President Barack Obama delivered his speech regarding  health care in front of a Joint Session of Congress ( The House of Representatives and The Senate), Rep. Joe Wilson (R., SC) decided his opinion needed to be heard immediately. This is how the scene played out:

Barack Obama: ” … There are also those who claim that our reform efforts would insure     illegal immigrants. This, too, is false … the reforms I’m proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally.”

Joe Wilson: “You lie!”

I’m not sure about the rest of you, but I’d rather have someone tell me I don’t deserve a VMA over someone proclaiming that I am a liar!  That’s a straight up slap in the face.

But low and behold, not a celebrity comment in sight! Even President Obama dismissed the situation. And though I truly respect and admire the president, the fact that he too had something to say about Kanye is very unfair and ridiculous.

Why doesn’t Donald Trump suggest we boycott those kinds of antics, “so this kind of thing doesn’t happen again.”

Celebrities have much more power than the average person, so why not stand up for something that has importance? Why not fight for politicians who are honest and commendable people?

What do you think?

This is same thing I posted on a youtube upload of the video. It’s amazing how many N****RS you get to read when someone Black embarrassed a little white girl. Yet the President of our Country is free game. When every other Presidents have gotten at least some kind of respect. No matter what he has done in office. If you don’t know now. S**t is still the same! White is right and black will forever be wrong. Pick and choose your battles when you can, and hope for moral victories.

my thoughts exactly. and its sad because no one seems to get this…especially black people. we are divided over some white chick…instead of coming together over the disrespect of the president. black people (whom i love to death) are very confused. they never see the bigger picture. so quick to conform to mainstream (white) america.

but for someone to wish the president dead….thats more than disrespectful…thats when people need to wake up and not just think of it as “oh well, all presidents get disrespected”.

I personally could not have yelled out what Joe Wilson said, but I’m wondering how many times did George W Bush address the House with lies and nothing was ever said. Not that President Obama is giving us false information, but with all that we know about the Bush Administration, we heard alot of false information. Was Wilson being a racist or just trying to inform us of what’s really going on. I feel that I pay enough taxes without a real tax break and do not want my taxes increased due to paying for medical care for those that are not Americans. Tell me what you think. President Obama I think you are doing a wonderful job, being that you came in to Presidency with alot of odds against you and the country being on the brink of downfall.

Alyssa, I must respectfully disagree. You should dare to expand your sources of information beyond pop culture blogs and episodes of Inside Edition. Plenty of celebrities had a lot to say about Joe Wilson and his mouth. People shouldn’t look to celebrities for their opinions about events anyway. Most celebrities are no more informed than the average Joe. We should encourage people to gather all the facts and form opinions for themselves.

And for the record, Kanye was a huge douche bag for that outburst, and it has nothing to do with race. If he’d done the same thing to a Black person or an Asian or a Alien, he would’ve been just as wrong. He was rude and disrespectful. If he wants to make decisions about who wins awards, his ass needs to join an Academy. In the meanwhile, he needs to sit down and shut up because his opinion, contrary to his belief, matters this much : —><—
