Although reading this side of the story, we all would think she was the victim. This is the first I heard about this story but come on, we have not heard the entire story. I am quite sure she is not as innocent as she seems. Youngsters grow up faster than ever before today so to think that they are totally innocent is a bunch of b.s. It had to be many factors in this case for her to be tried and convicted as an adult. I am no fan of our law enforcement or judicial system but there are avenues of help at every corner. Young or old, we just have to reach out.

Who was the judge in this? I think that he or she should be sent to jail for life for this, and put in the cell right beside this young lady. You found a way out so therefore your situation is nowhere near the same as hers. You situation obviously was a little lighter than hers because she had to kill somebody and you didnt. I can’t believe anyone would say this CHILD chose her life, she did not. She was indoctrinated into that life by the very people who were supposed to protect her, and failed to do so. Yes, she may have been a great student, but no CHILD can overcome an adult at home abusing them.. Its sad that anyone would feel that way. Irregardless of the age she was when she chose to kill the man, she still had the same mentality of the 11 year old child she was when the abuse began. She didn’t CHOOSE that life, she didn’t consciously have any say in what went on, a grown ass man abused her and pimped her out. No one’s situation is alike, and while i can agree she deserved SOMETHING, no one took anything but the crime into consideration, IMO, because if they had, they would never have given her that sentence. The judge in this case made a large error, because being a criminal justice major, i know that most judges examine the facts surrounding the case, and obviously by the sentence she received, hers did not. She needs a proper lawyer willing to go to bat against her life sentence, because it is an injustice that needs to be corrected. I’m still in amazement that ANYONE would say she chose the life she lived, but I guess if you have no compassion for anyone, that would be your interpretation.

Giving Sara life shows me that the judge was alright with the fact his GG raped her as a child and guided her into a life of prostitution. Wow, this story is really captivating. I honestly don’t know where to begin. Me personally, i need to know more about the story, in order to form a more clear and actual opinion! If you think about it, the way the story was approached, was only a one sided view, which was hers(sara). The public doesn’t know how she terminated his life, what measure she had gone beyond, and what reasons outlined her case to the judge for him to make the decision that he did. Sure we all can say it was based on color,or the fact she was a young prostitute, but that still does not give her the right to play god. However i feel that it does not give the judge the right to play god either!! I am a firm believer of an “eye for an eye”. If you think about it, sara took that mans life, she had many options to choose from as far as taking her life back was concerned. Unfortunately murder was the result and her disposition was life in prison. if you ask me, sounds like her eye replaced his in the eyes of justice!!!
