Here’s my story,

I have a very handsome 23 yo King as a son. I’m the only black in my corporate office. They have all bared witness to my son’s educational accomplishments. He’s never been in trouble with the law, has no children, works with at-risk-teens and lives on his own.

My job started the “Race & Social Justice Initiative”. We read books, hold seminars and had departmental discussions on race.

One day I got so dayum tired of hearing them talk about how they are not prejudice and treats everyone equal. I guess I snapped, because this is what I stated while sitting amongst 12 yt corporate executives.

“You all state you are not prejudice nor are you racist, you have all known my son since he was 15 y o, you all know he is a college graudate, never been in any type of trouble, and when you see him you want to pat him on the back, hold conversations about how things are going in his life, you further want to tell me what a wonderful job I’ve done with him. BUT, if my black son comes knocking on your door to pick your yt daughter up…you all will stop breathing. Please understand that if my black son brings home your daughter I will do the same. Why, because I’ve informed my black son there is no other race of women that will understand the struggles we as black people go through…than a black woman. So, I challenge you all to speak what’s on your minds and stop sugar coated the discussion.”. They all looked at me and after the meeting, a few of them approached me to say, “I’m so glad you exposed the elephant in the room.” Yt folks saying…I had to ask someone what that meant.

This topic is full of shyt to me. Because, every person in my circle is black and they all married and are dating Blacks. Know who you are…

Ain’t nothing wrong with having a preference for one’s OWN RACE. In America racism still exist and relationship’s are hard enough without adding the racial aspect to it.

We don’t live in a color blind society so naturally inter-racial dating isn’t for everyone.

And for those sensitive interracial daters. Toughen Up! It shouldn’t matter what other people think as long as your happy.

I think that you should marry the person you fall in love with, regardless of race or ethinicity.

However, this issue is EXTREMELY complex. There is an ugly history of racially motivated crimes related to interracial flirting, dating etc. in this country. I.e. Emmett Till. We also still in 2011 have cases of African American men being accused of sexual assaults that they didn’t commit. I have rareley if ever heard of a Caucasian man falsely accused of a sexual assault.

Another piece of this issue is the African American men i.e. Slim Thug, Lil’ Wayne, etc. that feel that dating interracially is inclusive of bashing the entire African American female population. If you date/marry interracially, that’s fine, but you have NO business generalizing an entire gender of an entire race of people.

well $hit,,,race will always and forever be a factor. i get the question all the time why i only date black men, and i ask ppl, why do they choose who they choose? I dont go after every black man thinkin hes open to dating me, because not all want to date outside their race, and im not interested in any black man that comes my way. I grew up round latinos only in the area i lived, until 14, and the blacks that were around were my moms co workers & their families, that were like family(which we dont have much of like the stereotype says of all latinos) and still are, since we were kids, we even lived with my sisters god mother & family when i was like 5, who is black, and nothing influenced my choice that i wanted only latinos at the time growin up, cuz thats what i waanted. Ive dated every race out there, but latinos were #1 on my list,,til me and my ex split,,and i met someone @ a club who happend to be black, he wasnt the first black men ive ever dated but he was the first i fell in love with and i was a grown woman, not a child anymore. Me & tht man saw each other EVERY day since the day we met & i thought damn i aint never been so happy like this b4, we had alot in common, then i met someone else sometime later who happend to be black,,,and i fell in love & what we had was better than the last.

As time went on, I found myself more attracted to,,and having a better connection with black men then any other race ive dated. They didnt change who they were, and i didnt adjust myself to whoever i dated, we just fit. My friends and fam didnt & dont try to change that in me, cuz its not a choice anymore,,if i end up with another race, im sure i wont be 100% happy.

My Uncle (whos half mex/half white) used to only date white women & then he met his wife, who is black. It just happens sometimes. But i think the main thing is,,,u go with what u feel and what makes u happy. Im fine with peoples opinions bout what they think and wont try to convince them otherwise, cuz reality is,,,ima continue to do what i want and it wont matter in my life, cuz it hasnt so far. But i dont knock y ppl think the way they do, cuz its life, we all go thru different $hit in our lives which makes us feel the way we do. I learned not to question it anymore. Cuz ima be happy, and when u know what makes and keeps u happy, ur a$$ wont change a damn thing for nobody.

Love is not always colorless. Some see color and become attracted to it, whether it is black, white or etc. Race will always be a factor when it comes to attraction for some folks. I don’t see it as a good or bad thing. It’s okay to have racial preferences just as long as you don’t go out of your way to insult those you don’t prefer.

Why is race still an issue in relationships? Because race IS

YOU have to consider that our relationships are to find our mate. When you choose a mate, you are also choosing your mate’s family. Even if race is not an issue between the two of you, it may be for some members of either family and that can complicate things…like family dinners.
Besides, if you so choose an interracial relationship throw the “I don’t see color” line out of the window. Because failing to acknowledge and understand each other’s cultural differences will surely doom your relationship from the start.

Race will always be a factor, maybe not to the two individuals involved in the relationship but it will be to those on the outside.

People are so quick to judge others for what they do. Who cares who others date? My mom raised me that we are all human, skin color is no different than hair and eye color. If most people would look in the family’s history they will see they will see that they aren’t as pure as they think they are. I am a black woman who has dated a few white men in the past. I have dated Latino men also. When I am with a white man in public I detect a very negative vibe from the brothas and hear rude comments. On the other hand, when I am with a latino brother or a man of mixed race the brothas don’t seem to have a problem with it. I prefer black men, but there aren’t enough to go around so I have broadened my horizons. Unlike many brothas; I do not feel that as I become more affluent that I need to upgrade to someone white. Anyway, I have found that there is a double standard when it comes to black women dating white men. I love being a black woman and have no hatred for my race. The brothas need to get used to seeing us with white men. It’s a sign of the times.

It’s sad how so many people minds are so far from the truth. Whenever I used to see people frown upon me with contempt and show grimace, I thought maybe it was me that needed to get my life together, tighten up, get an education, and a nice job. After I received all of that, I realized that those same contemptuous looks still existed even when I accomplished so much. I know those who are reading this are probably wondering what’s my point. Here it is, I finally realized that it wasn’t me on a personal level that needed to get myself together (although it’s something that we all should attempt to do you – for yourself) but that no matter where I went, and how much I had accomplished, my race plays an important factor in this society. Those looks of contempt weren’t because I was some uneducated low life growing up from the gutter, but because only a few people have respect for my race, a black man. Those people expressing disapproval didn’t know me on a personal level, so how could they judge me? I tell you, this skin I’m in carries a great burden in this country. There’s so much on our shoulders everywhere we go. We are being watched from standing in line in a grocery store to taking the trash out at home. Most of us may decide to turn on our blinders and ignore harsh reality, but soon you will realize the truth.

That’s why when people like crammasters, CaliFemme23, and tc2ewra, and soultry-soul make the comments like they do, people ought to slow down and actually pore-over what they are stating. Click on either of their profiles, you will see that these aren’t just a bunch of young simple-minded people who don’t have a clue of what they are talking about with an axe to grind. These are people who ARE just like you and I, who have a great level of maturity, self-respect, and fresh experience from dealing with the harsh reality of living within a racist system. They couldn’t just be making stuff up because I myself have experienced some of they things they speak about in their comments. Only a few are able to see the truth and covey the unadulterated message to others. I challenge those who are still reading my comment at this point to continue to read by picking up a book that you could learn something from. The information is out there, you just need to go get it. Educate yourselves, and make whatever decisions that work for you, but only after you do some heavy reasoning and meditating.

One last thing, if you decide to date other races, no one can change that or make you feel indifferent. The change has to happen from within, and some people learn better the hard way. If you decide to do so, don’t justify your reason for doing it by accusing your own race of your deflection. As for the white people, stop propagating fallacious information by telling us that we are practicing “reverse racism” (no such thing) by not wanting to date you. Us black people need to stop being so naïve and believing that crap, sharpen your minds so that you can counter-attack false information when you hear it. No one is telling Asians, Spanish, or Native Americans or any other race of people that lie. We are the only folk who believe that stuff just to appease people and to calm our enslaved minds. Are Japanese people wrong for coming to America and buying Japanese made cars, or are they smart for making a good choice of vehicle? We are so quick to snub our own people when they speak the truth and so quick to listen to others when they spread a lie. To the writer of this article, don’t you understand that articles like this only continue to make us fight amongst each another and continue to love those who don’t love us? To all black men here, those contemptuous looks you get from other racial groups are not because of what you don’t have (having a degree does not earn you respect), it’s because of what you are not doing. I shouldn’t have to tell you what you are not doing, but just incase, things like not being a leader in your community, not being a father to yours and a teacher to others, and most importantly, not respecting the woman from which you were born – a black woman, will earn you disrespect. Since as far back as I can recall, I, personally, have never had anyone treat me coldly or cruelly in life but black people, and more often than not it has been complete strangers. So with that being said, I do not have any life experience to speak of that would make me think anything is wrong with white folks. So many of you say that a black partner would understand your struggles in life, but how would I be able to reach out and find understanding from a black man if the only hurt (of so many different measures) brought on me by any one group of people is from blacks?

My husband is white, his family never has any problems about us, and neither to the people in the small town we live in. When we take our baby son out, white people come up to tell us how beautiful he is and give him the biggest sweetest smiles. At this point he knows nothing of hate, but you know what, he soon will; and why? Because he does get terrible looks, or get completely shunned and ignored… by the blacks we run into. Now, granted, the other mixed people we run into do not treat him like this, but non-mixed blacks, of all ages, do not give him the time of day and it is because of this foolish frame of mind. I’m going to have to one day explain to him, like my mother did for me, that some people will treat him poorly because they don’t agree with or understand him and all you all are doing is feeding this sick fire.

You all repeat the idea that racism will never go away but how can it if so many sides keep up the cycle of a grudge against others, Even in such a subtle way as voicing being against dating another race we are inflicting poor ideas and hate upon our children, and likely, theirs and so on. When is it ever going to stop if we can’t let it go? On an individual level, every race and ethnicity does it, but no one so much as us that I have personally seen. We cannot let anything go… I mean, you don’t see Jewish peoples still holding on to horrors of the holocaust… Americans don’t hold a grudge against Japan for Pearl Harbor; or Japan against us for throwing them in camps… And yes, I understand that so many people still experience problems today, but in the 50s and 60s, so many of our great civil rights leaders experienced ten times as much shyte, and they were able to turn the other cheek and proceed forward toward progress. Much of the verbal things that racists throw at us are no worse than the horrible things some of you on these comments say, and that is a fact. Don’t you think it would be better to the bigger person and let it roll of your backs? Or do we continue this tit-for-tat play until we take it back 60 years to segregation? Remove all that Dr. King worked for?

Besides, a widely-known fact is that the worst atrocities (serious crimes like murder, rape, drug sales) to befall black americans today is from fellow blacks, why doesn’t anyone ever complain about that? Anytime a race-related issue is approached you all are so quick to start off on how the “white devils this” and “whites need to perish… go back to Europe… bow to black kings…” really? That is the same dumb s**t that some say about us. Real kings and queens don’t stoop to the level of their opposers…

@LoMasBella I understand what you are trying to say but from reading that I think you should be careful that you don’t end up doing the same thing as the people your post was aimed at. IE blaming all black people for the negative interactions you have had with a small percentage of the black population the same way they are judging all whites based on their negative interactions with the vocal minority of racists.

Hun, I’m not judging “ALL” of anyone, I am talking about the people I have personally experienced that have treated, both, me and my son coldly for (no other apparent reason than) who we are. @ LoMasBella – While I am not one to speculate on someone else’s experience, you will always find perspectives differ from person to person and the reason, I suspect, that you may receive those stares and/or harsh receptions from Black people could be from your perspective and personality. I know as in my experience that many light skinned women have all or most have had some prideful attitude about themselves that made them feel as they were God’s gift and it really was more irritating than anything as I saw nothing different about them than any other Black women. This is not to say that I have not found attractive light skinned women or dark skinned women for that matter, but I couldn’t care less as they are both representative of my community and the beauty therein.

I also suspect that from your taste in music, hobbies and the like as well as your skin hue, you are more likely accepted into white culture as you are seen as more of them than you are Black. This however is speculation based on experience and therefore cannot fully be proven at present, but has more validity than just idle hurts along the way. Negative experiences from one particular group of people is usually not common unless there is a catalyst put there in the first place and more often than not, it is the demeaning and denigration and often public scrutiny, murder, injustice and consistent inconsistencies that are prevalent within this entire country.

It is interesting to note though that you mention MLK considering that toward the end of his life that he was even quoted saying that it was a mistake integrating into a burning house and was observed coming to agreement with men like Malcolm X and Marcus Garvey, both of whom have experienced and quoted on numerous occasions about the worst opposition that they have had has been from their own people. This being the case… while you have experienced “opposition” per se in your life as to your choice of dating/marriage material, it is not to say that it is the majority’s perspective or even how you would be treated by the majority.

Moving along….
Race will matter always in dating and for those that don’t agree, keep on going and you will find the reasons for yourself. There are exceptions to the rule for those open minded and those resolute to changing their environment to suit them as opposed to letting it change them, however I have noticed that many usually go for the latter.

As far as the articles reference to the article on Jill Scott’s perspective, it is understandable to a large degree simply because life experiences are going to play a big factor in how you perceive receptions from certain people so if you have had negative responses from one particular group or race of people then you will likely perceive that entire group’s receptions and perspectives as negative. This goes both ways and while I do understand that white people as a whole are not entirely evil, but the one thing that all of them have in common is that they are part of the system that holds the minorities (racial and economical) back from their potential. There is an institutionalized racism in this country that is prevalent in everything from law enforcement to criminal justice to money lending industries and employment practices. So to be able to “claim” Black women as their wives, mistresses or just guilty pleasures, it still acts as a slap in the face because it’s saying that you’re not good enough to be in our society, but we can still get busy on the low.

I have nothing against love and a commonality that makes someone want to share their life with someone that truly loves and appreciates them, but I have a problem when one of those parties isn’t committing to appreciating that person or allowing them to be a part of your life or your family. I have seen and heard few examples of Black men or women who are invited into or at the very least accepted/tolerated by their white partner’s family and/or community especially if the spouse is a Black male.

There’s a book called MicroTrends written a couple of years back that has a chapter on micro trends related to interracial dating. The author is the same guy who helped the Clintons take the white house by identifying the micro trend we now know as the “soccer mom.” He found that white guys and asian women were the number one pairing, followed closely by black men and white women. Asian men and black women had the hardest pairing with other races, so he theoretically (and jokingly) advised black women to pair up with asian guys. Of course, we can have all kinds of conversations about that, but my point is that each of us will still tend to be attracted to those who look more like us or one of our parents, but some people are not limited by physical features such as race or weight or hair type, so why hate on anyone else? Having said that, I do think that those who get with people of other races because you hate your own will find that you’ll have a string of empty relationships and never know the source of their failures.

Did any of you even read this editorial? You’re all off on some tangents that have to do w/ ur own insecurities and nothing else. And for the record Halle and Paula are MIXED, not black. So, it shouldn’t matter if they choose white men cuz they are part white.

After reading some of these comments i am amazed at how many people are down grading white women saying that the only reason why black men are with white women because they put up with Sh*t that black women wouldnt. Which is completly un true. That might be a rare case, but in my marriage is not the case. I am in an interracial marriage. I am a white women and we have to face challenges everyday in our marriage. People look at us crazy everywhere we go from white and black backgrounds. they doubt us and say we wont last. the saying love is blind explains so many things i love my husband with all my heart and soul. He is my soul mate, we have a beautiful child together and i wouldnt change that for the world all you people out there that only date within your race never know because you might have passed up the love of your life. because LOVE overcomes everything LOVE is omnipotent, and omnipresent. Love comes in all shapes sizes and yes colors. When love is blind those who are inlove don’t see race, religion, physical imperfections like weight or beauty age etc.
For many love is not blind because they can’t get past the things I have mentioned above. Especially race and physical imperfections. as we grow older though some learn to be more accepting of many of the factors that prevent love from being blind.
When love is truly blind it shouldn’t matter that their skin is a diffrent color, or they are 200 lbs over their ideal weight or 50 lbs under it. It shouldn’t matter that on the outside someone is not physically beautiful. We shouldn’t care that someone is 30 years older or younger than us of course that is unless that would make one party a minor then we should care.
Too often so many of us are unwilling to relax our standards of who we will be in a relationship with. Frankly it is quite sad when many of us do that because we miss out on opportunities to be with someone who could be our perfect match in almost every way except they aren’t the right race religion weight aren’t pretty or handsome enough etc.
The world would be a much better place and less people would be alone in this world if we all just learned to relax our standards a little bit and not let such silliness stand in our way of opening our hearts to someone.

I think that it is sad that there is so much confusion, ignorance and just plain not educated on who you are as an individual of any race. Race will always be a factor, it’s been a factor for 4oo plus years, and history only repeats itself, black folks still experience rascism in this day and age eventhough it’s alot more subtle we still suffer the way our ancestors suffered. Perception is everything, I hate to hear ppl say tht when black men get money they get a white girl, that is not true because majority of black male actors and athletes are dating and/or married to black women, but the media wants us to percieve that those men are eating up white women like hot cakes, but they are not, they focus on the interracial couples more than they do the black couples but the truth is there are far more Jay z and Beyonces than there are ice t and coco”s. The same with Black women in hollywood they highlight the interracial couples making us believe that theres a higher percentage of ppl dating out of race when there arent. Majority of black men prefer black women, but there will always be those that prefer something else, not knocking interracial dating but why is it that  interracial marriages have the highest divorce rate ? although it can work it can still be a bit challenging; its still relatively small in comparison to the number of black couples, black love is still alive and well…. carry on folks …

there is nothing wrong with interracial dating, the idiots who have a problem with it are usually insecure, and they view a woman, or man choosing somebody of a differant race over them, as rejection, so they try to do everything in their power to keep it from happening, and their efforts make it happen even more.

Let me make something clear,  Whites originated in africa too, so we carry the same african bloodline, but we adapted to the colder european climate.  Our skin became more resistant to frostbite, and grew lighter to capture more nutrients from the sun.   So A person of african descent doesnt pollute their bloodline when dating a white person, but rather enhances it, and vice versa.  It is better to have a child that is adapted to a hot climate, and a cold climate instead of overspecializing to one, so interracial dating is healthy for our species.

I disagree with this on many levels. For years many black women have ignored me and just wanted nothing to do with me. It wasn’t until I married a non black that I started getting attention from black women. By that time, many of these same women murmured about how I was a traitor to my race and things like that. Even when my first marriage fell apart, these same women never bothered to go out with me. So when I married my current wife, a Latina, I stopped paying attention to them. I don’t think interracial dating or marriage is as easy as one person hating their own race. Frankly, sometimes you just find your match outside of your race. I don’t need science or anything else to tell me who to date. I’m not going to figure out why those girls did not date or marry me. I’m just going to go for who I’m attracted to that is also attracted to me.

Where ever you find love dont matter to me, black,white,yellow, green whatever. There are both good and bad men and women from ALL races, and no particular race has it all. As for me i’m color blind.

i recently had a discussion with a 25-year-old black male about IR dating. he told me he only dates white women, but has sex with all races of women. i asked him why and he said he didn’t know…he told me a story about him once being interested in two women at the same time…one was an unattractive white woman and the other was a cute black woman. he said that despite the white woman’s ugliness, he STILL desired her over the black woman! he recognized that he had a problem and talked to a therapist about it. the therapist told him it was simply his mentality…in other words, he’s brainwashed and doesn’t know it!

this is real, folks. whatever your reason for dating interracially, do some self-reflection and ask yourself how you feel about the opposite sex of your own race. if your sentiments are not ALL positive ones, you may just have a problem that needs to be worked on.

Sorry but that is a stretch. You accused another poster of generalizing when you are doing the same thing yourself. To think that those who do date interracial are ‘brainwashed’ is also a stretch. I guess the misunderstanding in this is that many fail to realize that this particular site is predominantly involved in divisive topics as such. I’m surprised that most of the people on this site haven’t realized that yet.

Moving along… the reason why race is a factor STILL in dating is because of racism (which most don’t understand is an evolutionary form of tribalism). I’m not speaking on racism as a prejudicial preference to one’s own as individuals, but more along the lines of institutional racism in which most minorities have access to little resources and wealth, not to mention disproportionate representation in politics, employment and over representation in the criminal justice system. 

The problem that many feel is the biggest divide between Black/White relationships is the feeling of betrayal by “sleeping with the enemy” with the enemy being the participant and supporter of the same system that holds our community back. Granted, this is definitely not to say that they are the sole reason, but they are one of the biggest. As was stated by a friend on here (@crammasters:disqus ), you have noticed that immigrants to this country have been the least of the participants within IR dating and yet are more prosperous in a smaller time frame than the Black community. 

As per society is right now… my preference is for my Black women as a whole as they are the most beautiful women on the planet from everywhere including Caribbean, Africa, Canada and even my own backyard, but if necessary for survival then I have little hesitation to do what is necessary for my family’s survival because I will do what I need to do and sacrifice my life for my wife and children like John Q. 

If race doesn’t matter to you then I give you respect as this world needs more of that love and unconditional respect, but as an undeniable truth of this world and society at large, many stick to their own and will try to protect that as they have done for eons. The only hope that I remain is that my family and community can come together as one and work together as we have shown in the past. It is truly disheartening to see my brothers and sisters hating each other, but I guess that there’s not much to do if few, if any, will listen to you.

So let bring some facts to this discussion.  First the Caucasoid did not originate in Africa (Tamoora, Sudan, Etheopia what ever original name you wanna call it).  The Albino African (who could not stand the intense beams of sun) migrated to the Caucus Mountains because of the more suitable climate for them there.  As the Ice Age came these same Abino’s began to die off because of the extreme cold climate.  With the cold being so extreme a person with carbon (melonin) could not survive.  As they began to breed there kids began to be born based on the Evolution of Adaptation.  Meaning that as they bore kids the kids had to be able to naturally survive in the climate they where born into.  So each kid that was produced was born closer and closer to a body and a physical make up that would allow them to survive in there current surroundings.  After a few thousand years of this and living in caves the Caucasoid was produced.  Unfortunately because of there natural habitat there also became a very morally depraved type of people.  In the Caucus Mountains they could grow no vegetation and had very little to eat.  So women where seen as a burden.  It is hard to see someone as a helper when you dont have food to eat and they take some of the little you have.  So they lived in a very dog eat dog, people eat people type of place.  These things where literal.  Over the course of time the descended from the Mountain and went into different parts of Europe (Rome, Russia etc.)  But they took there mentality with them. 

I’m gonna shorten this part of history cause it could be a 1000 page book.

As the European began to come in contact with other people (who didnt look like him) he began to notice his inferiority.  Meaning he couldnt survive because of his genetic recessive traits.  When mixing with other people who have Carbon he naturally dies off.  Again his traits are RECESSIVE.  Meaning they are the least dominate on all the earth.  Plus he posses no traits physically that he can call his own. Outside of his skin color.  By very inbread nature (at this point) most, not all, Caucasians have a natural tendency towards there own survivial because they realize that they cant survive by mixing. 

So what we have in our moden day and time is a push (so called) for interracial dating.  Well if the Caucasoid knows he cant survive this way why would he be ok with this push.  Well he really isnt.  What you wont find is the hiarchy of the Caucasoid family is mixing.  It is only the least among them (appears to be the best among them from the common eye) that is allowed to do this.  In most of the most powerful and WEALTHIEST Caucasoid families the practice of marry anything other than a Caucasoid is forbidden.  However to keep the mask over the African (Muur, Moor ie. Blacks) eyes a vale is created that promotes something that is actually forbidden in the inter most secret of families.   

They have taught us to hate each other for years.  Now they are teaching us that we need them inorder to be successful in family life.  (This coming from the same people who instituted homosexuality in there culture and raped and ate there own women)  This push for inter racial dating has nothing to do with world unity.  It has everything to do with keeping us from raising ourselves up as a people.  Once we realize that we are all we need, we instantly become the most powerful force on the planet.  However until we stop look at the Caucasoid Man and Women for acceptance then we cant achieve that unity  Thats why this push is happening to keep us from that reality.  There is not one thing I have said that is not a historical fact.  This is not my opinion.   The truth is hidden in plain sight.  Unfortunately we see this information everyday but have been wiped clean of our own history so we dont recognize it anymore.    Hotep!!!  Man Know Thyself!!!

In this case, tell me, what happens if Halle Berry’s daughter grows up and choses to identify herself as black? (as she will find out the police, future employers and racist people in general will not class her as simply bi-racial and give her white folk treatment……just look how they treat the BLACK but bi-racial President)……Is her dad going to be mad as he does not want people to call her “black”? Does her dad’s family hold the same view?  And does Halle now brand what was her once a loving partner as a undercover racist?

All this can just cause identity crisis and on-going problems.  And racist ideology can be buried so deep within a “We are the World” white person, but in times of anger and conflict (or after they have used you), you’ll be surprised with what comes out the mouth.  But grown decision-making adults still create these situations. 

The world is not fluffy and full of equality.  Race matters like it always has and always will.

Black women loose out in interracial dating.  Yes everybody can see and name a token black female or celebrity that has dated interracial but check the numbers.  Black men are often courted or hunted down by women of other races.  Black woman are not even a choice for most men in of other races or countries.  

I have heard this myself from an Asian co worker that he could never bring home a Black woman to meet his parents.  I have heard from Hispanic workers that told me they would love to sex a Black women but they would never date or marry a Black woman in fear of what their friends may say.  Still in the USA, white men are scared to be seen with a Black woman but would to hide her from the rest of the world.

So why should I be condone interracial marriage when it doesn’t benefit me?

Race and love are two separate, mutually exclusive things.   It’s only a factor if you want or need it to be.  But love is where you find it.  If you and another person click on all or most levels and the only thing keeping you from loving that  woman or man is skin color,  you’ll never know the meaning of true love because of your fear.    

If the black community is so aids ridden, why are these white people so fiercely and vigorously pushing  themselves on to us….and promoting that we should date them? I just dealt with the issue at work yesterday. A young black man stated “the thought of a black woman touching me makes my skin crawl”, “other races of woman look better” but in the same sentence asked me for a ride and I’m a black woman. I told him ask a white woman for a ride and son, love who you want to love but remember who looks back at you in the mirror and who your mother is. Those comments really hurt me as a black woman because its self hate. When a black man puts down a black woman he degrades himself. Just say that its what your prefer not the put downs because no matter what his puts his body parts in its not going to change who he is (black man). He pulled me to the side and said he was sorry, those comments were wrong. I told him its nothing wrong with the color of woman he likes but, just dont tear yourself down, would you burn your own house down because your neighbors looked better? Just tell people that you love black woman but you like to date other races and leave it at that..

so so true, but my mother said let a fool be a fool these are foolish people so there is no need to discuss this with them. Only a fool burns down his own house. Just to think how us as black woman get treated by our men but we still dont say “I’m getting a white man”. Wonderful history lesson that many don’t like to admit to and I hope that many wake up in time, but from the progression of things, I don’t see too much on the horizon.

Another issue w/ IR dating is don’t get get in my face in public waiting for a response of negative or affirmative,..I don’t care who you’re having sex with (that’s why i think most are fake)

The ignorance, hate, paranoia, and racism on this post is just unbelievable, but then again none of the people advocating those characteristics will think they are, so arguing about interracial dating or race is futile. Those of you who want everyone to “stick with their own” or make their own race more “superior” than others remind me of racist organizations like the KKK and dare I say it black organizations with the same mentality. Another person you all remind me of is a guy named Hitler! You might have heard of him! Some of you probably have a picture of him on your wall!

Guess what comes after dating?  You, Ms Minogue, made either no or very little mention of preservation of culture or heritage, history, affect on Blacks socially, economically, religiously, politically, etc.  There are more things to consider than whether you can find someone who’s interested enough in you to have sex with you.  I understand that every race has its rejects and have to get it where they can.  But, at least have enough humility to admit it and stop putting your own people down because they can’t see you as a potential life partner.

Do you really want to know what upsets most of us so?  Black women tend to date/marry a White man (not interracial – White) who elevate them, while Black men tend to date White women who  are either unwanted by White men or want us for whatever money we might have.  Just take a look at the number of Black male athletes who are either married to or dating White women.  That has been a source of frustration for us for some time now and is only contributing to the decline of our communities.  It doesn’t serve us AT ALL.

ok, i just spent 2 hrs of my life reading these comments, and all i gotta say is that majority of ya got some serious issues. B***hing over IR dating, when there more things to worry about . As a community we are already in the worst state when it comes to areas education, employment, etc. and yet some of us have nutin better to do than to blame the white man “oh it was the white man who keeping us from reaching our potential,” and other shyt like that. How about we all stop blaming other people for our own shortcoming…. i dont believe it was the white man who told us gto go out into the streets and sell drugs, and give up on trying to be successful. 

Now i do agree thaT the media is partially to blame as well because almost everything that concerns is some negative stereotypical shyt, and ppl like to buy into that.

as for IR dating itself, i say those who do that just because they got issues against their own race  are probably just insecure about themselves, and that’s a horrible excuse to start going for other race of ppl. Personally, i believe that race does play a role on who we choose to go out with, because of all the assumptions and stereotypes that are said about other ppl (good and bad) . Personally i prefer IR for mecuz i like the fact of dating somebody different. Personailty matter to me the most

Final Statement: all of you ppl that keep complaining about how IR so bad and criticizing need to just end this shyt already n go on focus on something else.

You know a lot of times, people make stupid comments just to make you upset. They may or may not believe what they are saying, but they say it knowing it will hurt your feelings. Maybe he was recently rejected by a black woman he was pursuing, so he decided to take it out on you!!! People have motives when they say things that are obviously mean or rude. I mean, he is not stupid. He knew he was talking to a black woman! Right? Maybe he is a very insecure person and he wants you to be insecure also. A lot of times people make comments against people in their own ethnic group because they are bitter. It is that simple. So don’t allow his insecurity with himself  hurt you!! Love yourself. Personally, I don’t have a problem with interracial relationships but many times people get involved in these relationships because of self hatred or because they believe in stereotypes ( white women are feminine, black women have attitudes, black men aren’t ambitious, white men are successful men who will “save” you from your bleak world).  If it is just about love, then it shouldn’t be a major issue. Love is beautiful. But sometimes people practice racism against those in their own ethnic group out of bitterness, insecurity, or ignorance. I personally would rather be with a loving, caring black man, who is intelligent, romantic and responsible. That is my preference.  I want to see black people love each other and feel good about one another simply because in this nation( the United States) black love is in a lot of trouble. Blacks are not marrying like they should. The African American family( one with a husband and wife)  isn’t as prevalent as it should be.  So I think we should promote black love. That is not to say that I hate interracial marriage. But I just want blacks to learn how to trust, respect, and love each other. There is so much mistrust and tension between black men and women. How can we survive as a community if there isn’t peace  between black men and women, if  the black family can’t survive?

No one has a right to tell me who I should be with unless he/she tells me that the person is shady or so. The same thing goes with me too.

People should date whoever they like. Parents, kids, and others need to stay out of it. 

When people die, do they think that God is going judge them based on their skin color or race?
