This is the first time I read your blogs, and I must say I enjoyed it. Personally I haven't had the opportunity to date a man shorter than me. I am only 5'4 and 1/2. I had to add that 1/2 or else it wouldn't be me. It just depends on the man and how he handles himself regardless of height. I agree some men can become jerks when they "think" they have to compensate for whatever they lack.

Oh my goodness...all this stuff about tall men making you feel safe.. it isn't the men; it's what package, we as women, expect the safety to be delivered in. I'm 6ft without heels and sport 3 3/4 in heels whenever I feel like it, which is often. I've dated ( and yes I mean gone out in public at high noon) with a guy who was vertical challenged. He was 5'7". And yes I "felt safe" with him. I've been out with taller guys (6'7" - 5'10")and yes it's nice to be able to look a guy in his eyes or reach up and wrap my arms around a guys neck. But at the same time... most tall men, don't approach me. So.. if a gentlemen is confident enough to approaches me... and strikes up a conversation, I wont trip on his "short" comings; if he don't trip!

Wow I must say I read all your blogs, and Iam very impressed with your skills as a writer. I dont think height matters, its all about chemistry. I am 5'6 and alll the men I have dated have been either the same height as me, 1 or 2 that were shorter than me, and the majority taller than me by a couple of inches. I dont think sane or mature women worry about height (honestly in a potential mate you worry about alot more serious things than height and rightfully so) You are handsome, so I hope that this obviously non courteous model chick you speak of hasnt left you scarred.

Well, let me say it like this. When a woman is looking for a man, someone that she can be with for a long term, she is usually looking for a man that makes her feel safe. Someone that can wrap her up in his arms. Being 5'5 I have dated tall and short. I have found comfort in both. Thing is it is easier for a taller man to provide that since of security. But when you get to know that shorter man, he usually makes up in other ways for what he is lacking in height. I don't cut a man short because of his size, unless he act as if he is not comforable in his own skin.

im a tall girl. and i've dated short guys. i dont think its that big of a deal but if in my experience ive found that the men have more of a problem about the height differential than me. and they start doing weird shit and getting self-conscious and overcompensate by turning into assholes. im sure that's not you kev. :)

Wow, I guess being 5 feet even (give or take 1/2 inch), I have never had the chance to give a man a complex about his height in comparison to mine. I think i'm more attracted to taller guys because they seem to be more confident. I've dated guys 5'3"-6'5" and the shorter guys tended to have that "napoleon syndrome". They had to overcompensate because of their insecurities regarding their height especailly the ones closer to 5 feet.
